Looking for our princess in another castle.
It's not the same way. It would be the same if someone was complaining about a complaint someone had against people complaining over a relative lack of characters. Notice what the complaints in this thread are about; Complaints. Not the problems of Wi-Fi.

EDIT: I've actually never been to NSiders. Is it that bad?

Actually, he says stop complaining about Brawl's Wifi on the first page.

My point is, if nobody complains when something is sub-par, it won't ever improve.

Im sick of biased fanboys claiming online is good. Nintendo needs to put the same time and effort in online that they do in polishing and making great games. I respect Sakurai. But I have a problem with Nintendo. They aren't taking any chances with online. Totally neglecting some casual gamers and many hardcore gamers. If your going to buy something, you should criticize its faults if they dont meets standards already set.

So how is complaining to us about the bad service helping Nintendo to improve it. It's not like Nintendo workers accually come to this website to hear other peoples complaints. That why they have the N sider.

I agree with this thread.

Wow. How can people even complain/compair Wi-Fi's functions?

Melee was one of the most successful multiplayer games without the addition of Wi-Fi. I hear lots of people say that Wi-Fi won't be a mainstream source of competative play or playing with professionals in general, so why complain? You can still add your friends via smashboards and play them online.

Not to mention, it's ****ing free!!!

Seriously, if you expect an X-Box live online system for FREE, you're expecting too much.

How bout Playstation 3? Although I don't personally like the PS3, they have a system similar to Xbox Live and WAY better than Wii's Wifi for free. So no, I don't think I'm expecting too much at all. Friend codes are a poor system. They were barely tolerable on a portable system, but ridiculous on a home console.

Thank God for Eternal phoenix Fire. Spoken like a true Gamer.

@ Sid. All your doing is whining because Nintendo isn't doing what you want. If you have a problem with their online service don't play their Wifi games, or better yet complain to them directly. I'm sure they'll listen. Cause we don't want to.

But that's stupid, I'm not whining, I'm pointing out it's flaws. In a discussion of their Wifi service, I don't see how this is somehow taboo just because you don't agree.

seriously stop complaining. at least he cared enough to put in online so we can challenge someone when we're bored. now we don't have to play the same friends over and over or play the crappy level 9s. he's given us the option of sitting on our coaches and playing a completely new person so we can [hopefully they aren't n00bs] have a new challenge.

I in my opinion think the Wifi could be done better, but at least we have it and I'm being grateful about it.

Now Whining and pointing out are two different things. If your just pointing out flaws without making complaints then this doesn't apply to you.

And like I said. Do what Dylan did and make a thread where you can discuss this intellengently and not make it look like your whining. It'll work out better that way.

I have no problem with Sakurai, but with Nintendo's online policies and service. Pointing out flaws in a discussion of the online is not whining, that's all I'm trying to point out to this thread creator and those that agree with him. I have no more to say, you're all welcome to be satisfied with this online. Goodbye.

So we can't point out flaws now? If I don't like something I'm going say so if the chance comes up. If there's a thread about it I'll agree or disagree, simple as that.

Nintendo has piss poor online. Why do we need to remember 16 digit codes to refer to friends? Not even phone numbers are that long. There's a difference between whining and critic, just as there's a difference between accepting and being complacent [a.k.a a** kissing].

wat is with it with all these ppl complaining bout o0o0 i hate tht the wifi's gonna lag...and o0o0o nintendo needs to get mics for voice during wifi play and the o0o0o wifi's going to suck hot a** cuz theres no leaderboards...

like seriously...grow up, be grateful, and thnk god tht we even have wifi...and if u think the wifi's gonna lag when u play ppl in japan or w/e then get friends codes from around where u live and ur country. theres like millions of threads already bout this and if u need some friend codes then get some. or if not, google search for friend codes in ur country. im sick and tired of all this complaining bout the wifi. just sit back play the **** game and just have fun. if not go get urself a 360 and play halo or w/e if u think wifi sucks. o yea! wifi is free. no need to pay for playing online on the wii. well....all im trying to say to all of u "smashers" is...

STOP COMPLAINING BOUT BRAWL'S WIFI!!
Seriously, both sides are wrong. People on the extremes of "Brawl online sucks", and people saying "zomg, it's the best thing ever. It's perfect, and everyone who complains needs to STFU". Seriously, both sides STFU! Have any of you played BRAWL=??? No....so wait until we play the game, and then go on about it. Seriously, I'm tired of BOTH SIDES whinning about how it sucks in general. That says, little pokes at faults in it aren't that bad, and I appove. But taking things to extremes like many people have is always bad.

Check out the GameFAQS boards. I swear, they're like spoiled little 3 year olds....

^ I could have told you that. That is because THEY ARE THREE YEAR OLDS!

At least it's better then the PS3's online. ;) [couldn't resist ]

And voice seriously needs to be a option. At least before or after the match, or in team battles. Anyways, it's still possible we'll get that, since wat is online gameplay without a headset=??? At least do it like that=like MP Hunters. >_<

From what I here PS3's online is coming together well, some games have leaderboards and decent lobbies as well as different DLC available.

Right now Nintendo is just falling behind online. They think it isn't important but I bet that'll cost them. Then again, Nintendo has so many old people/little kids/non gamers in general playing they won't need us teenagers/kids to buy their stuff.

Like I said if you don't like it then why do you play there games. I already said that they could do a better with it, but at least we have jeez.

And I'm resricting you from your post. I'm not a Mod. I'm just saying what's the trouble in just making a thread where you and others who agree with the same thing make a thread and talk amoung yourselves.

Threads like this would have to be made and most people would be happy.

And Red exodus I'm starting to think your just making posts because people don't agree with you and what your saying. Now remember what I just said. "I THINK"

So don't get so bent out of shape k.

I don't even have a Wii, the only games online that I might be interested in are Advanced Wars, Mario Kart and Brawl.

The thing about bringing up shortcomings is that people have a chance to see what is wrong and what isn't. I'm sure if you get something wrong at school you'd like to know where you went wrong and what the answers are and what logic is behind the answer.

It's the same thing here. If everything was positive no one would know what mistakes are there if there are any and how they can possibly improve where possible.

For example, I'm sure Sakurai just didn't get up one morning and say 'we should have more options for special melee, such as stamina mode!'.

I doubt any of us give him that idea, by the way. One of his testers could have pointed it out.

I know, I felt like sounding like a fanboy. LOL...I'm a official hipcrite! However, random disconnects on the PS3 online sucks [I've played like 5+ hours of Resistance: FoM online]. But it's still bearable, though Xbox Live is muich better.

Not really, just in leaderbords and voices. There are a lot more younger players playing Nintendo systems, so they want voice off. Halo 2 has so much trash talking it can get near unbearable. But still, they should at least have that option to turn it on/off, or do specific games where it's on/off/on before and/or after matches. Smash, Zelda, and Metroid are really the only real "dedicated gamer games" that are on/coming to the Wii. Maybe Mario, but I guess that could be considered a non-gamer game.

But still, we don't know wat move Sakurai has up his sleeve. He is the master of the mindgame, after all. I agree with your complaints btw RE. It's just these people who say it's worthless, or are going on how anyone who complains should STFU seriosuly need to calm down, stop being extremists, or STFU themselves. I'm with ya on the complaints, I want voice. Especially on teams, to talk to my potential teammate in game. After all, that adds strategy and layers to the most advanced form of smash, 2 vs 2.'s. This is coming from someone who sucks at them!

And Master Peach, RE isn't saying it sucks, he's saying he's disappointed, and he expects Nintendo to keep up with the competition. The late N64 and GCN era really f***ed em' over. they need to turn this around, and a voice option is definitely a must. At least before/after matches, or as I said earlier, 2 vs. 2's/1 vs. 3's even. IDK, voice can very well really be needed for Brawl's success in team play. Seriously. :ohwell:

Ok well I agree with all that, But what I'm saying is, and I'm not saying your wrong, but for the future so that less people make threads lie these it would be better if you can make a thread where you and your peeps who agree with you can come and talk about what you want. That way almost evryone is happen. Dylan Thread went over well. The same can happen for you or anyone else.

@ johnknight

I feel like a record lol. I keep saying this. I Agree, Nintendo could do better with Wifi, but I'm very grateful they put wifi in brawl. At least we have some sort of online play.

For right now I'm happy with what he has done, and there is probably more to come. I like to stay positive.

I'm against a bunch of threads for every update too. There's a sub board for updates but hardly anyone uses it, which is why there are so many duplicates. SWF might need more mods to stop so many dup threads from showing up.

I Agree, Nintendo could do better with Wifi, but I'm very grateful they put wifi in brawl. At least we have some sort of online play.

Basically, you are saying exactly what both me and SiD said throughout this thread.

I'll even re-quote myself, and I won't bother repeating what SiD was saying throughout this thread, since he was basically saying every one of my points (which I agree with), yet you were all chewing him out for it.

I don't think anyone is really complaining about Smash Brawl's Wi-Fi Online.

I think what everyone is complaining about is Nintendo's lack of interest, support, and development for their Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in comparison to Xbox Live and Playstation Network. Nintendo is seriously doing the least for the online community in comparison to the other big names of the industry. All of this shows in the development of Smash Brawls online features, as Sakurai even states himself that it will be limited. Sakurai actually says that "The more distant you are, the worse your connection becomes, and the slower it feels. I apologize, but I hope you understand." He knows that there is nothing he can do about it, because it is entirely on Nintendo's shoulders. Nintendo just doesn't show enough support for online functionality, that Smash Bros becomes penalized for it with all these limitations.

So in my case, I am more angered with Smash Brawl's limitations because of Nintendo's lack of online support, than I am towards Sakurai and the Brawl Development team. I am actually incredibly happy and grateful that Sakurai has tried to do everything he could to get Brawl Online.

Yet with Nintendo's semi-decent Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection... only the time of release will we know if his efforts were worthwhile though.

Basically, you're complaining about a completely optional service for an already great game without internet play. I would have been satisfied even if Brawl didn't have online play, and so would have many others. This option was givin to those who want to have fun, and you can still play competatively with people on this forum. Why is it so important to have the ability to add random players when you can select who you wish to play?

Be thankful Sakurai gave us the option. Despite what you say, you can't complain about a game that has free online service (Also with the ability to play your friends, what more do you want?).

Pretty much. Nintendo made an error on their online play. If we all says "lol k w/e" then things will never get better.

Yes we can. Nintenod is not making smash to be a nice company. it is doing it to MAKE MONEY! As shocking as that sounds Nintendo doesn't care about you but cares about the money in your pocket. By them making free online that means that more people will buy the game and thus they will make more money.

If you can't make any decent sense when making complaints, they're not worth hearing. You might as well say "the sky fell and killed Foxy Loxy" (no, not McCloud).

If you cared to see my previous thread about a very similar issue, it basically addresses that people who can't complain without bringing up sensible points, need to keep quiet. There's a fine line between valid complaints and unintelligible whining.

I remember just a few days ago when people were hoping for online play. Well, we've passed that and now I guess it's time to bite the hand that feeds us. You know, they didn't have to give us online. The game looks awesome as it is and online could only sweeten the deal.

Besides, tech is maturing faster and faster these days. Who knows, maybe something will come up.
