I feel that the only way to save him is to stop playing as him in tournaments, BUT we still practice with him so few people know what we will do once he gets buffs. At the same time we can get good with other top tier characters so they get nerfed. if we continue mourning nothing will happen. (WE WILL KEEP LUIGI AS A POCKET CHARACTER AND IN OUR HEARTS)

The way to "save" Luigi is simple:

Get better with Luigi. Relearn how to play as him in the new meta. And maybe pick up a secondary for his bad match ups.

Or here's a more practical idea: pick up a stronger character that has bad match ups Luigi complements well. That way you can keep a healthy win record while still getting in play time with your favourite green plumber.

The reason I am dropping him though is that I'm getting a lot worse (even prepatch).

This topic is not contributing to developing Luigi. I feel this is going to turn into the patch thread again. I see in the OP telling people to stop playing as Luigi and a poll asking if people will drop him. Try posting this in gameplay, because I'm not seeing any positive benefit here or needing it's own topic.
