woooooaaaaaaaaah there silent. foop said this would be the 5th. now it's the 12th? I could definitely make the 5th, but I have a math final the 12th from 4-7pm -_-. Now, I have the option of taking an early final, but why can't this just be on the 5th? One week + is plenty of notice. ; _ ;. If this absolutely has to be on the 12th, i understand, but I'll have to make some arrangements in order to make it....

Unfortunately, because this tournament is run by band members, the Holiday Parade conflicts that night, and then Marching Band Champs is Sat. morning.

So it has to be the 12th or later...

oh and maybe put the word tournament or some variation in the thread title. just so that there's no excuse for people to pass over this thread because they thought it was a smashfest.

thread title sf. jump on it =D

and you only really need a general idea of how many people are coming. You will make the brackets the day of the tournament anyway, once everyone's there.

Yeah we're hankering for smash but this day might not be the best day for some. Idunno, we'll wait and see. SF you still have about 2 weeks for people to post in this thread, stating their interest, so just chill out and wait. It takes time for people to see new threads.

if all else fails you could just hold the tournament during winter break or w/e, but I don't know about that either, cuz lots of people travel.

good stuff junk, you'll certainly be a great crew member. now if only i could meet the rest of gosu's crew...

Edit: tips for the pillaring: go into vs mode and put a level 1 bowser on level 9 handicap. now just practice dair > shining him. you can also go into training mode (if you don't mind losing the use of the c-stick) and practice dair > shining with both fox and falco. you'll know when you l cancelled correctly when, after shining from the dair, the "consecutive hits" meter is greater than one. This consecutive hits meter shows how many hits you got in while your opponent was stunned. if it's only 1, then it means your opponent could have moved between the dair and shine. hope this helps.

Dante, it's only possible to pillar starting at about 40% right? Or does it work at lower percent even though it looks like they could escape (lol)?

pretty sure you guys already ditto'd -_-.
and the entry fee is up to whoever is hosting the tournament. I'd be fine with $5. and since we seem to have a small attendance lined up, it would make the first place pot small. but whatever. I'm in it for the competition. The money only serves to attract people who wouldn't come otherwise.

I will of course be there. I'm going to need to play melee for a while so I can relearn it. I'm so bad at melee now... But at my peak skill (tourney before brawl came out) how good are you now Dante compared to me then? I remembered when I played you last year and 4 stocked you with luigi :D. Then one weekend you suddenly got way better lol. Now it's like I can 2 stock jose with luigi. Anyway I'm looking foward to this I haven't smashed in so long.

I'm glad you're finally coming back to melee, Foop. It seems the community has realized that brawl and melee can coexist. Compared to you at that tournament before brawl came out.... hmmmm...... I don't know. But if you manage to get back up there we can find out soon enough =D.

I actually haven't played melee in months and the next time I plan to play it is against you or someone hosting a smashfest lol. Maybe I could play you sometime before the tourney and get my skills back? I donno haha. I think I could get quite a bit more people to show up who I know play smash (brawl) (they are not great but hey more money), and two people for brawl who are actually pretty good. You remember Gabe right junk? And do you remember Danny, dante?
