samus upwards KO glitch?

i was playing with my brother today and every time i was being killed upwards i used her zair just before she died and not once was it a star KO or a death by hitting the stage. instead that light just bursted downwards from the top of the screen (the same thing that appears everytime you are killed off the sides or bottom of the stage) and i died instantly. this isn't something useful to do (obviously) and i don't know if it's already known ( because i don't play samus) but i just found it to be really strange.

Anyone that can Zair and does so while flying off the top will always Burst KO instead of flying off.

oh, wow. good to know. thanks ryoko. good to know against sheik/zelda players so i can get back quickly and hit them while they're transofrming after KOing me, huh? XD

It has to do with the lack of hitstun in this game you shouldn't be able to attack anyway.
