samus shorthop

hi since I'm maining Zamus I thought it was helpfull to get some practice with samus only samus' shorthop seems way to sensitive. Spikes and z-airs sometimes go to high because I don't shorthop. Is this something to get used to or is there some trick for it?

Just press jump quickly the same you'd do any other character. It probly seems "different" than Zamus because of the huge jump height difference between the two.

What Mars and Sarah said. It's mainly something you get used to.

If you have default controls, you can hit up on the control stick immediately followed by any direction (except up) on the C-stick to use a rising SH aerial. It's easier to SH this way, though you have to use an aerial.

Well, her SH takes her as high as some other character's full hops....

Yes, but it's barely distinguishable from her full jump, which makes SH'ing aerials a pain.

Gum was joking, hence the reason why I used his words for my signature. I just started laughing when I read what Gum said, because we all know that Zero Suit Samus doesn't have that great of a short hop.
