Tada!

Glide toss down and pick it up by pressing A at the right time. For the glide toss, just roll left or right and c-stick down. Samus actually can do something diddy kong cant though, she can forward dribble without pivoting--meaning diddy kong cant glide toss foward and pick it up without turning around, but samus can.

I was bored, and dribbling is really fun. she has the best dribble out of any other char I think, hers even tops diddy's.

Whoa, that's pretty kickass. How bad is Diddy a matchup against Samus though?

Is dribbling even useful? I've never faced a competitive Diddy.

Consider it a wavedash.

It would be useful against diddy yeah, but the chances of having to fight one lol.... Well I think samus can kick diddy's *** if she has control of the bananas otherwise she'll probably get *****. I had trouble with a samus before as diddy for some reason, it was hard to stop her constant flow.

lol that was ninjalinks diddy. NL 2stocked me in a tourny i hosted last month. I find good diddy's overwhelming. I tried controlling the match with homing missles and uncharged shots but it didn't help. Any tips??

Diddy can't glide toss if you spam uncharged shots. You should be able to force Diddy to approach in the air, where your zair and uair will come in handy.

EDIT: Oh, and Samus with a full range glide toss slides too far to pick up the banana. Glide tossing backwards is TONS more effective, mainly because of a larger slide. The forward glide toss is relatively crap... my fingers hurt. I hate glide tossing =(

Are you using the C-stick?

The key to beating diddy with samus is keeping a constant flow. SH dairs are great and to pressure his shield. Keeping a flow of projectiles is good, but it doesn't work for very long so you need to keep moving up close too. If you learn to dribble, it will definitely help you. Stealing the nanerz is great especially for some reason if samus steals them. If you watch how n00b plays, that's how samus should play vs diddy.

A mutt? I plan on using this controller for Brawl only o_o;;
It actually might help in playing the Metroid Prime games, too. Faster lock-on and free-aim response time.

On-topic:

I can see why stealing Diddy's bananas would be beneficial to Samus, but how would you pull this off, exactly?

A Diddy Kong who dribbles his bananas, that's pretty hard to go up against. But you can do the same thing to him or similar. It's not like Diddy Kong is impossible to beat. Samus with her fast projectile, I'd think she has it easy.

Pull off what, exactly? Stealing the bananas? As Diddy throws them, SHAD through it to pick it up. If Diddy is approaching with glide toss to grab, which they usually do. Side step twice to avoid it, then jab to ftilt or screw attack. Samus has a rather long dash attack animation so it should be easy to pick up the bananas off the ground.

And I've had my thirst of speed running Metroid Prime. Once you've gotten 100% on the highest difficulty and gotten a good speed, there's not much else to do.

Samus has two forward glide toss down distances. The first one (the longer one) can be achieved by rapidly pressing the c-stick down at the VERY beginning of the roll. The second one is just after that little few frames or frame (the shorter one).

Consider it a wavedash.

If you take a look at this:

Glide Toss Lengths
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=172861

It seems like any character with a backwards glide toss similar to that of Diddy or a bit less can dribble backwards. Any character with a forwards glide toss similar to that of Samus or a bit less can dribble forwards.

ChromePirate, I really think you'll like this post. :D
