Sakurai Interview with IGN: why Ridley isn't playable

It appears that Sakurai does agree with those who think downsizing Ridley would do disservice to the character. He also implies that similar reasons are why Metal Face and Yellow Devil aren't playable.

I wonder if somehow Samus wasn't in the game for scale, Ridley would be able to be in. Because Olimar is in the game at like 10,000 times his actual size
