SAF Whistle to Downsmash

Lately I have been attempting to apply olimar's whistle to see if it can give olimar a nice advantage against low-lag attacks such as ROB's dmash or lucario's nair to jabs. Overall, ive found something very nice.

A whistle at the beginning of any of these while mashing down-cstick on the ground will manage to throw out your dsmash during the SA frames of the whistle and knock out their combo/approach. I find this so incredibly useful in that it completely nullifies a lot of approaches as well as opens up additional ways to get off a dsmash kill at higher percents against other characters. Hope this helps

I've been practicing it and while i haven't studied frame data, its pretty **** fast to the point where it almost seems as if the whistle isnt fully finishing and the pikmin are coming out. I suggest you give it a try for yourself

yeah ive read that all before, its more that I find the use of whistle to moves like robs downsmash far outperforms a perfect shield in my ability to pull off a dsmash in time. It's insane how quickly it appears to come out, (i.e. the pikmin seem to be leaving olimars body before the whistle colored animation is even fully completed)

That sounds like a really really good technique, there needs to be a new AR that is compatable with this version of the Wii/Brawl... I'd never update again, so many new things could be discovered including the SA frames and information of this stuff.

Do you know if any other moves can work? Fsmash? Usmash? Grab?

Sorry to be that guy but I've been doing this for a while and yes it works with pretty much any move after it as long as the opponent is in range.
