I remember a few months ago I decided to give the show a chance. I watched the pilot episode of the show, and to be honest, I didn't like it.

There IS another Rooster Teeth related thing I AM subscribed to on YouTube known as the Slo Mo Guys, but I don't know how involved with RT they really are.

It just wasn't very exciting to watch in my opinion. Admittedly I usually prefer a series that has some comedy in it now and then, which I did not see in the pilot. I'm not saying I think they rely on humor, I just think a show needs a sense of humor to be great like Andy Griffith, Freaks and Geeks, and one of the most notable recently is the Big Bang Theory.

It's not just that though. I also thought the main character was pretty dumb. Worse is that they let her attend this college right after being caught out in the city past curfew? This is ridiculous. Just a bunch of confusing storyline like "Why would this lead to THAT?" or something similar.

Then there's the music. I've heard two of the songs from the soundtrack, and it sounds like a buncha tryhards wrote the lyrics.

So three strikes, you're out. RWBY is not for me.

That's RWBY in a nutshell.

People have made a lot of theories about certain events, especially the reason why Ruby got hired at Beacon.

The answers to many of your questions will eventually be answered if you keep watching (assuming you want to, of course)

I can't say anything about that one.

I like the soundtrack, but if you don't, it's alright.

After all, not everyone can like a certain style.

So three strikes, you're out. RWBY is not for me.

Basing yourself out of only the first episode to make general opinion of a show isn't a great thing for any show, imo.

Try to watch a few more episodes and if you don't like it, then I'll respect that decision a lot more.

But if you don't want to, I can't force you.

It's typically best to watch more than the first episode of anything before deciding whether to stick with it or not.
That said Volume 1 is incredibly weak, especially in comparison to the later Volumes aside from Episode 8 and the last two episodes of the Volume. Such is the limitations of using Poser instead of Maya for animation (they're switching to Maya from V4 onwards anyway because, as great as Monty was he was the only one that could use Poser aside from Shane, it held the team back. With Monty dead and Shane gone (and potentially out of a job for a good while because of how he acted) everyone can use Maya instead of porting to Poser which is just cumbersome and the quality of Maya will show) and having to create something new in 3d instead of using video game assets to get things going (Red vs Blue, which just had a ****ing amazing 3 part arc with Chris Sabat voicing a character).

There was no curfew.
You clearly see Torchwick and his men walking past people that got out of the way and gasped not to mention shopkeep was clearly behind the counter like any shopkeeper should be if the store is open and why would a store be open in curfew? This is even better observed in Volume 2 where far more Night activity is shown.

The only relation they really have is that Gavin works at Achievement Hunter (along with being on the RT podcast, doing stuff with Burnie and voice acting) and that the SMG are at RTX frequently. That's it.

Yeah, the handle looks a lot fancier, and the red dust is supposed to be fire(?), so Fire and Ice thing going for her maybe? The four blade-thingies around the dust container look a lot more detailed than before.

I think it's more the art style making them look kinda orange though her eyes were always a bit of a mix between yellow and orange.
