To the average person who will look at the game, Toon Link is "hey, that's the Zelda character I used in Wind Waker when I got my Wii U!"
Maybe skip for PM since no ridley.
I don't care if Toon Link gets in for his character worthiness or whatever but I'm sure he's worthy but honestly I only want Toon Link back because unless they REALLY fix adult Link, every small change Toon Link has makes him a lot funner as a character, from the awesome bomb effects to his stats =P
I know but, Its been along time coming, If smash 4's doesnt have alot of great really cool new characters I see no reason to play it over PM. (although Ill totally get it at midnight crap characters or not.) Ridley should have been in a decade ago real talk..
Well, there's always the rumor he was supposed to be in Melee, but who knows how much that floats. Anyways, it's strange, back when I owned the game, before getting it recently before my house got robbed back in 2010, it took me nearly four years to get my hands on the Ridley trophy as I usually only played it with friends and only after a couple of them moved that I actually started playing a majority of the single player parts of Melee. I don't know why, but they made him look like a mindless monster with the hollow eyes in the Melee opening, when in reality...those eyes had pupils, pupils a single shade darker than the actual eye.

Indeed...the cunning god of death...death of free space as everytime he flies through a wall he leaves as a pointless straight hallway behind him. I think there was a sale on porkchops at the cafeteria on that day, Ridley wanted to be first in line, but he couldn't eat it at first because he was Little Birdy.
...Really? Megaman and Villager will do a much better job at marketing the game than Ridley could've. Not to mention we've only gotten three newcomers so far, yet the game "doesn't have alot of cool characters". You have every right to be disappointed if he doesn't get in, but don't undermine the entire roster if he, or any other extremely popular newcomer, doesn't.
I don't think it's undermining the roster, I think it's more about undermining the representation Metroid gets in Smash 4, and it kind of is.
True dat. If you become obsessed with a certain character so much that the entire game hinges on that one character's appearance, and they don't get in, then it just ruins the game for you. It's smart to speculate, you shouldn't just be too caught up in it that it ruins the game because, say, Ridley, Mewtwo, and Palutena don't get in. Just accept the roster and the newcomers and what it brings to the table.
Of course there is still time to put cool stuff in, its just right now Megaman is the coolest thing they have added, Im liking what Ive seen but I would appreciate it if sakurai would change the dojo setup from pictures to idk alot more informative stuff like he did for brawl. Anyways like I said im getting it if all they add is just Duck Hunt Dog and Metal mario or something dumb like that.
I did respond to your post. I don't support Anna for being most recurring because she's a tutorial icon who was only playable through DLC. She's not up there with the main character of the newest and (one of the) best selling Fire Emblem games
Well, I don't think it's fair to put Mewtwo in that pile, since it's pretty much confirmed to happen. It's not like Ridley or Palutena, who both have somewhat of an obstacle to overcome to get in (Ridley = Pyrosphere, Palutena = Sakurai's modesty), Mewtwo is the cream of the crop and has absolutely nothing holding him back, especially since of all the three, he's the only other newcomer to actually be acknowledged as a high possibility by Sakurai himself.
Think of it this way for Palutena.
Well, I see your point. But I was just saying popular characters in general that shouldn't overall ruin the game for you if they aren't in it. But yeah, Mewtwo's not with them.
