Well, I do wanna note one thing. And it's not for you, but for everyone ITT, just do they all get it.

Sakurai said he was gonna TRY to avoid cuts, but apologizes ahead of time if they happen, implying that they're gonna happen. If anything, his statement is confirmation that cuts will indeed happen in this new game.

Just something for everyone to think about for a bit.

Exactly. So if Impa gets in, it'll be her own unique character, not a replacement of Sheik.

In the overall canon, yes, it is likely we won't be seeing Sheik anytime soon.

However, the 3DS Smash has OoT 3D stuff. So it's not like it's straightforward that Sheik is on the low end of things.

Not to mention, if Sakurai took canon super seriously, I don't know that Sheik would have been kept for Brawl even, although as you said, there was no replacement available.

Clearly the best argument against Impa in all honestly is...who the **** gets NAMED Impa? Like seriously. What an ugly sounding name. Ugh. :troll:

What makes you say that? I can't remember the last time a character who shared extremely similar characteristics and abilities DIDN'T end up being based partially on another character's move set.

This is what I think people are missing. Characters aren't necessarily planned to be cut. So if Impa were planned to be in, it would be alongside Sheik, not cutting Sheik off the bat.

At least that's how I look at it.

Yeah but no deliberate cuts. If they happen, it would be due to time. So Tumblr is right. If Impa makes it in, it would be on her own merits, and not to separate Sheik from Zelda moveset wise.

A comment against Scoliosis Jones when he told you to stop insulting people based on their character preferences, which is hardly something I'd consider Rude. That, and the endless amount of sarcastic comments to people based on their character preference and not agreeing with their views. I'll take that 1,000,000 dollars now you little brat.

You know, he's really not that bad, I've talked to him outside of the boards, he's okay. He's just very sarcastic. And everybody hates him for that so every time he opens his mouth ten people start flaming him. It's unfair and it's unjustified. Morbid would understand.
