dang this thread has gotten even more crazy hard for me to keep track

if we get an assist trophy to rep a Mario RPG series what series would you prefer

Unless he somehow manages to become a playable character.

Fun fact: Fawful is a parody of bad 90s gaming translations. Hence his name being the word "awful" with an added letter, and his common "Engrish" speaking, such as "I HAVE FURY!"

I also want to make it clear, I really do like Goroh, I just feel he is good as an assist trophy. There ware better way for F-Zero to get recognition through stages and trophies. The three characters I want for Smash are Kamek, Geno and Ridley, all of which probably won't be in the game anyway

I don't like Geno, I think he is the worst possible candidate. I don't even know why anyone EVER thought he would be in Smash. I am just surprised to find such a rare specimen.

Yes, Sylveon would be a good partner as it is pretty bulky at taking special hits and dealing special hits back. However, I'd wait until you can import pokemon to use one, as you should get one with the ability "Pixilate", which turns Normal type moves into fairy type moves. I plan on running a modest Pixilate Sylveon with Hyper Voice when we FINALLY get pokemon bank. Also, if you want, I can breed you a Yamask if you're still interested in the tank thing, as Co***rigus is just as good as Gourgeist.

True, and I actually do have a bred Eevee waiting to be transferred for it along with my Ralts and Electrike. I really can't wait until Bank comes out...

The thing is that there are more and more priority users out there now, and pokemon like Mawile can really turn it against you with a Sucker Punch, or a dual fake out then dual sucker punch from a Mega Kangaskhan. It's always best to have a tool for every situation, and I always found the Life orb too risky unless it's on a really bulky pokemon. However, I agree with Arcanir in the fact that the Expert Belt would probably be a better choice. Not to mention what if you go up against a Golurk with No Guard and Dynamicpunch? That's a really dangerous combo.

I either switch into Aegislash or use Dark Pulse. G-Ninja is one of my sweepers on my team, and I prepare for every single type.

So, Goroh then? I just don't see a reason for a second F-Zero rep, its a bloody racing game. Now imagine that there were absolutely no characters in F-Zero, just cars, not much different right? Captain Falcon represents F-Zero as a whole, a speedy moveset and some powerful moves, what is Goroh going to represent, his own car? What's the difference, how it handles? Besides that, he isn't even a major character in the series, he's been in since the first game yeah. You know who else has been in a series since the first game? Toad (Super Mario Bros, not counting Donkey Kong and Mario Bros.) is he important to the series overall? Yeah. Has he been playable in the series? Yeah. Does that mean he should get in Smash? Obviously not because he's still Peach's meatshield and Sakurai: "rororRosalina."

Really there just isn't anyone important to F-Zero because it's a racing game and it's about cars and obviously racing. Captain Falcon just gets in because of seniority and because he's kind of the face of the series. Like Marth is to Fire Emblem. I'm not saying Goroh can't get in now, it's just a ****ty excuse of a reason to want him "just so F-Zero has a second character." It doesn't need a second character.

Explain to me why Toon Link was one of the first revealed veterans. If Sakurai has already finished the paddy clone characters, surely he must have finished everyone else beforehand.


He isn't just going to cut the main protagonist of Pokemon after he finally added him in Brawl, that's just ridiculous. He also wouldn't get rid of Snake after he already went through the trouble of adding him in the first place. Pretty sure he must still be friends with Kojima too.




Young Link was the only character literally replaced in Brawl, and Pichu was the only intentional cut. Roy, Mewtwo, and even Dr. Mario were planned for Brawl, but got the axe when Sonic suddenly took center stage at the end of development. The three of them still have data left in Brawl, along with data for newcomers that didn't make the final cut because of Sonic. Ike and Lucario had nothing to do with the loss of Roy and Mewtwo.

I hate this cause its not a proper representation. In the games the firered protagonist is canonically Red who has three FULLY EVOLVED kanto starters and a pikachu. Not squirtle and ivysaur and named pkmn trainer.

Not really, I don't really need any pokemon right now, but if I could get my hands on anything...I dunno...a Piplup? If you don't have a piplup, I'll just take whatever, it really doesn't matter, considering I got alot of pokemon that were released with pokemon bank by breeding a buttload of Buneary and putting them up on Wonder Trade.

Besides Geno's huge Smash fan base, he makes as much sense as Cackletta or a Shroob.

Eh, no. In Fire Red, and the original versions, you can name your character whatever you want, hence the non-specific "Pokemon Trainer." You also only get one starter, not all three, unless you trade for the other two, which isn't very canonical. Plus there's the fact that you can get whatever Pokemon you want on your team, so you don't have to get a Pikachu.

That is why I usually try to start with a Pokemon with a move that makes that bad start-up negligible (such as u-turn or volt switch).

Tell me about it...except when I use a Cloyster and people instantly ragequit. (That's not a joke, I've had at least 12 different people ragequit after I just summoned by Cloyster...not attack, didn't shell smash, they just left...)

If you think i'm a bad person, then good for you. But you don't know enough about me to make that assumption and therefore don't really have the right to say anything of the sort.
