Looks pretty good. I picked Dedede over Meta Knight because of Crystal Shards. Also I like Dedede more.

Note that I didn't add Little Mac. I wanted to, but I don't know just how important Punch Out was at the time.
I tried to keep it somewhat realistic. I feel like Pit would be the more plausible choice, as he was planned to begin with.

Punch-Out had a title on the NES and SNES, so I think it...could have been in a boat akin to the MOTHER series.

Those are respectable choices dear clone. Except for Mike Jones in Brawl perhaps. Would want that to be Isaac. Also throwing out C.Syrup for Falco, and Balloon Fighter for Lyn. In Melee, I'd throw out Pichu for Roy.

Lyn is my Fire Emblem rep.
No Roy because I don't find him likely. No Chrom because everyone will give me crap for it.
So Lyn is my Fire Emblem choice.

I've really got to get used to you being Diddy.

I'd throw out Mii for Impa, and PacMan for The Wrestler. Shulk also for Isaac. Other than that, great roster.

For reference, Meta Knight didn't get popular until the release of Kirby Super Star. Prior to that he was more treated like any other boss with little to no character or backstory, the only difference being is that he had an odd habit of being both helpful and hurtful during Kirby's Adventure. More or less during the 90's his presence was mostly regulated to spin off titles, but starting in the 21 century Meta Knight received a very big boost in presence and popularity and now is considered a staple character along with Kirby and King Dedede.

Interestingly, the Waddle Dee with the blue bandanna is kind of going through a slow crawl into being a staple too in a similar manner to Meta Knight, by being a minor character at first but gaining more presence as time goes by. Kirby's Return to Dreamland even pokes fun at that by describing the character as "everyone's favorite" in the pause screen description.

Because honestly, the thing that makes Roy more deserving is his inclusion in Melee.
Other than that they have almost the same things going for them.
