link better be good in SSB4. every game he pretty much sucks and for once i would like to see him be good. I mean him and samus always suck and they are such awesome characters to play as and in their respected games. SAMUS AND LINK FOR TOP TIER :D

Isn't that what I said before? To end this pointless Link's design debate:
[collapse="Huge comparison image"][/collapse]
How many debates about Link's new design have been made since the first trailer?
No, this Link is not Skyward Sword Link, but does have some elements of him, such as the blue sword effect.
[collapse="Blue sword effect"][/collapse]
SSB4 Link's design is mostly based on the HD Zelda tech demo, which in turn is clearly based on TP Link. SSB4 Link, however, has a saturated color scheme that resembles Skyward Sword's Link.
It's an entirely new design, borrowing elements from previous Link designs. Another similar case is how Fox's design is an hybrid of his Star Fox 64 look with his Star Fox: Command look with some extra details thrown in. It's not the first time characters get new designs made for Smash.
End of discussion.
I really hope he isn't. I liked being a low tier warrior with my Link. If they actually decide to make him good I will miss out on it. I don't think I will main him this time around because his design is hideous. I really miss 64/Melee Link. I would love Samus to be top tier though.link better be good in SSB4. every game he pretty much sucks and for once i would like to see him be good. Yes, it is. But, I'm already tired of those debates, I had to put the nail in the coffin.Isn't that what I said before?
Well what is it exactly? All I read was that you had a competition you wanted to try, but didn't sya what it was and how it would work. o.OSo no one is up for TK's competitions then.........
ok i undertsnad the underdog thing but come on they pretty much made it that link is garbage (no offense) in every game. like his recovery? prettty bad. i would at least like him to be mid to high tier. and samus i'm pretty sure will be good with the new redesign :DI really hope he isn't. I know what you mean. I guess it doesn't really matter to me... Link will never be like his 64/Melee days anymore. At least no one could call me a tier-*****.ok i undertsnad the underdog thing but come on they pretty much made it that link is garbage (no offense) in every game. like his recovery? prettty bad. i would at least like him to be mid to high tier. and samus i'm pretty sure will be good with the new redesign :D
Wasn't Link mid-tier in Melee?ok i undertsnad the underdog thing but come on they pretty much made it that link is garbage (no offense) in every game. like his recovery? prettty bad. i would at least like him to be mid to high tier. and samus i'm pretty sure will be good with the new redesign :D
I don't think $10 is a good price, comparing to the price of a game called Crashmo.
I just wanted to make sure people were interested in taking a break from the debating before I revealed the 3 choices of competitions. I mean it really is just supposed to be a fun and friendly competition.Well what is it exactly? All I read was that you had a competition you wanted to try, but didn't sya what it was and how it would work. o.O
If they were not just clones (and Doc Mario played exactly like he did in melee) I wold totally buy it.
nah he's low tier. even then he was like weirdly slow in melee. wavedash solved that but that's the only game where you can wavedash so its gonna be hard for him to be fastWasn't Link mid-tier in Melee?
I thought E Tier was considered low mid tier. So... he would still be mid tier.nah he's low tier. even then he was like weirdly slow in melee. wavedash solved that but that's the only game where you can wavedash so its gonna be hard for him to be fast
Oh, come ooooooooooon. Live a little. Plus Dr. Mario could have a cool Final Smash where everyone is in a jar and raining pills come down damaging everyone. If they were not just clones (and Doc Mario played exactly like he did in melee) I wold totally buy it.
no the order is:I thought E Tier was considered low mid tier. So... he would still be mid tier.
Yes I would make a new topic for it, no sense in having a trivia contest on the roster prediction topic. As for the questions, yes they would be smash related and also some questions from other nintendo gamesThe last 2 I would be unable to do. But the first I could, as long as it can be done without Skype, untill imo gets skype working again on it I am skypless. I presume you will make a new topic for it also and that questions will be Smash related?
As for Meta Knight, it's probable that they will nerf him somewhat but not to the extent that he isn't still a high tier, he jsut hopefully won't be god tier again. xD
EDIT - Now have a roster pic instead
Krystal over Falco - I feel as Star Fox is a Nich series and that each character I have under Star Fox reps feel a certain role, The main hero, The recuring atagonist, and the main heiroine/damsel (which ever way you want to look at it). I understand Falco is popular and is Fox's partner, but he just doesn't repesent the nich series as good now. So I think there is a decent chance he might get replaced with Krystal.
Masked Link - I've changed Wolf Link to Masked Link when I learnt that Sakurai said he liked the idea of having a adult Link and child Link. Masked Link is a child Link but would hopefully be not as clone like. I als doubt Toon Link or Young Link will make a return.
Chrom - Like with the 2nd version of Link it looks like there might be a pattern here. First in melee we had Marth and Roy. then in Brawl we had Marth and Ike. And now it is very likely we will get Marth and Chrom.
Zoroark - Lucario replaced Mewtwo, not as a clone as many would think but more as in "spirit", and it seems likely that Lucario will end up getting replaced and I bet on it being Zoroak.
Note on the random - That random stand for a new Pokemon, but there are many different ones it could be that I don't think its worth even trying to guess it.
Palutena - KIU was a great success and she seems like the best idea for a new Rep.
Mii, Pac-Man, Little Mac - All based on what looks to be the very reliable rumor that was correct about Wii Fit Trainer, Megaman, and Villager.
Waluigi - Mario Sports rep, as those and other spinoffs are the only games he has appeared in. Also gives Luigi his Anti part just like Mario has.
I never said they would, I said it as a possiblity (a thought).I know.
I highly doubt they would tweak on the already revealed characters' designs.
Their models seem finished and already have official artwork for them, so I doubt they would change their designs in the middle of development. A redesign would be a waste of effort that could be made for characters and features that are yet to be implemented.
That is to say, those are the final looks and no, Sakurai didn't say this wasn't the final Link. Game design =/= character design.
If you're expecting Link to have a design change, you're delusional. No character was redesigned from Brawl's trailer to the final game, so why would that happen here? Do note that, when Brawl was unveiled, that game had less than a year of development time and this game has been in development for more than a year.
Long story short: the Link we've seen is the one we will see in the final version of the game. There's absolutely no point in changing a character that seems finished.
Well Fox's look is pretty consistent in all of his games. And on top of that his looks are basically Command and Star Fox 64 3D.Yeah like Frost said. That design is likely final as they have been working on that game for more than a year now. Plus they apparently had the time to change Samus's design so why not Link? :/
That design is likely final. We shouldn't expect Fox's design to change anytime soon either.
Kind of, but sometimes it is more of responding to more than one person without going back and adding it all to one comment. Other times I expect someone else would have responded by then and then find out no one else has yet.DragonSniper is it just me or do you double post a lot?
Didn't anybody else notice Fox was as heavy as Metal in that game.nah he's low tier. even then he was like weirdly slow in melee. wavedash solved that but that's the only game where you can wavedash so its gonna be hard for him to be fast
Replace Isa with Palutena and you have a very realistic roster.

My reasoning
*Sakurai said that all Brawl and Melee characters may not make it in. However, he said nothing about the starting 12. I was unsure about Ness's and potentially Jigglypuff's inclusion, but because of that statement, I believe they are safe.
*Olimar is weird. I would have taken him out of my roster and replaced him with the protagonist from Pikmin 3 because of the inclusion of new Pikmin. But, seeing as though the game has 3 equally important protagonist and since Olimar is still in the game through bingo mode, I would assume they would keep him and give him the new Pikmin.
*Lucas, for me, was also on the fence. NA didn't get Mother 3 and people will still complain he is a clone of Ness (not really), but seeing as though they wanted to put him in instead of Ness in Melee shows they want this character.
*Ike was also going to be out with me, but seeing as though Fire Emblem has so many people and games to cover, they could keep him in. Also, I don't play Fire Emblem, but after seeing Chrom, I'd believe he'd replace Marth over Ike seeing as they have closer sword and body structuring. Ike was also a fan of the causal players too.
*Bowser Jr, Little Mac, Ridley, and Issac should just be in the game.
*Dixie Kong over K. Rool because she is starring in the new game.
*(New) Mewtwo because he will just be the next legendary Pokemon. Also, he's getting a lot of hype because he's a new Mew breed.
*Isa over Saki because Isa's game got a true release in the NA and is newer.
*I really don't want Mii in, but seeing as though he really is an important part of Nintendo's newer history and Sakurai's talking a lot about customization, they figure out a way to put him in. Maybe a make-shift character where you assign him moves.
*Sonic and Nintendo seem to be best buddies now. I see no really why Sonic should go. Although, I want them to improve on him as a character.
*Again, I really don't want Pac-Man, but that leak is shifting my mind. I'd much rather see a Tekken rep or Lloyd (even though I think Lloyd at this point in time is a little of a stretch) since they have much more fighting aspects to work with. However, with Pac-Man being the most popular character and the new show on Disney XD, I think Pac-Man would appeal to the demographic that Nintendo wants better than any other choice
Lul, I goota admit, that was rather funny. xDFirst of all you have way too many Nintendo characters. This isn't even a Nintendo game.
Second, where is Big The Cat? He's been in every Smash Bros game since the Atari Lynx! and you didn't even make him playable?
Third, Link is wearing a GREEN hat! Why would a character from a Space Shooter where a hat that isn't indigo!?
Fourth, How is Dixie gonna be playable when she's the referee AND the Narrator?
Fifth, You only have Olimar once. There is three of him.
And finally Bowser Jr doesn't even exist you clearly made that picture with Microsfot Paint.
You get a 22/4
Oh my god did you seriously make this into an argument? Over a flippin' piece of artwork. I don't care if it's the Zelda from Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, OoT, or even Link to the Past for christ's sake. You literally made this post to start a pointless argument about what a character will look like, which has nothing to do with anything at all.
Here is why:
1. Twilight Link: To still think Skyward Zelda will be in the game after the Twilight Link has already been confirmed is just ridiculously asinine. It's inconsistent and there is a reason Twilight versions will be playable which I have mentioned several times in the past. If you have Skyward Zelda (someone who is drastically different from the current SSB version.) Why on earth would you not have Skyward Link? Someone who would not require any change at all? Logic?
2. Twilight Characters and their design represent more of the series where as Skyward Sword versions represent only Skyward Sword. Even though they are no the same person, Wind Waker Link's design represents both Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. The design from Twilight Princess represents the N64 titles as well as Twilight Princess. They are considered the main design of the series.
EX: The Link from NES is not the same as LTTP, OOS/OOA/, or Awakening. Yet the DESIGN clearly is, and thus it represents more of the Zelda series than Skyward Sword which represents 1 game specifically.
3. Sheik: I can't really imagine Skyward Zelda transforming into Sheik. It doesn't really make much sense.
4. This design of Zelda may be adored by many, but is not as popular as Twilight Princess.
I seriously thought people knew this, or at least considered it.
I lose hope here when people add or remove characters SOLELY because of recent appearance.
Here we go again with "It was the last game that came out!" That's NOT the only reason why we had the Twilight design. And in case you didn't see the trailer for the new Super Smash Bros. Game, Twilight Link is STILL in it. You think they wouldn't use the recent Link, the one that doesn't have to be changed drastically to put in, but they WOULD with someone who does have to be changed drastically to put in?
Putting a character in for the sole reason of being the last game doesn't ALWAYS work. Maybe for less popular titles or to add a different character that people want more or is the new protagonist of the series as a whole. EX: Matthew is from a not so popular series and is now the new protagonist of that series. Mother doesn't have a main protagonist of the series and thus Lucas was considered to replace Ness. Poke'mon just keeps getting bigger and bigger so it makes sense to give each generation a turn (with the exception of Gen 1).
I'm trying to comprehend that people think Skyward Zelda will be playable after the confirmation of Twilight Link. Really???
Pippi who?If we do get another Mother representative, I feel like it would be from Mother 0, and non-psi user. And since Sakurai has a tendency to pick unexpected characters, I'm hoping it would be Pippi.
Pippi who?
*does research*
Huh. Why do you think Sakurai would use a non-PSI user? And why Pippi when other no PSI users are more popular?
But iconicness does and every other character in Mother one is more iconic.Just my personal guess since popularity doesn't factor in that much when it comes to deciding the roster.
You know what Mother characters I want to play as?
But iconicness does and every other character in Mother one is more iconic.
And popularity DOES play a big role. Don't try to undermine that.
Never said they were the same thing. Where did you get that from?A character being recognizable and a character being popular are two different things.
Recent reviews and the character that were recently reviews support that.
