Hmm, I'd say the biggest thing you need to work on is taking control of the match and getting the momentum in your favor. You know how to do his moves decently, but you need to space yourself better to prevent yourself from getting punished. Make sure you stay right on the tip of the sword, but get the hits in. It doesn't help if you're too far away.

A good MK should always be in control of the match, so make sure you're aggressive and spacing right, and you should do a lot better.

There are times where I can't take control of the match because I don't know what the matchup is like, and therefore have no garantee way of kicking their ***.

In anycase, I'll try to space mysef up a bit more and see what happens.

Well, that's something that comes with practice. Most characters you should be able to lock down pretty well, but the ones to watch out for would be GaW, ROB, DK, and Snake, maybe DDD. I might be forgetting some, but those are the ones I can think of. With these guys, you need to play a bit more carefully get in cheap shots rather than go all-out aggressive.

I know not to be too agressive with Snake (NinjaLink said that snake crushes agressive metas). ROB and DK i have some practice against. DDD and G&w are characters I may have little to no practice. Good thing I live in NYC XD

anyway, I'll do my best to work on the spacing. Is there anything I'm at least doing right? besides using the moves right? Is there anything else I'm doing wrong?

You should refrain from roll dodging so much. I personally never use it. Shielding and spot dodging is more than enough. If you look at the vids of M2K or Forte, they never roll dodge the entire match. And, as previously stated, be more aggressive.

Oh wow, they don't? o.o

I guess I could lower it a bit. I shouldn't use it against Meta knight dittos cause of the stupid ranges he has. I probably won't roll behind him but maybe away from him, so as to give me more space.
