Unban: Me, Luke, Alvin, Kelvin, Kyle, Jamie, Darren,

Ban: Keith, Ash, Jack, Mike H, Brandon, Stephan, Mike W(ALSO THINKS SNAKE IS OP/RETIRED 0-0)

So if we dont count retired Mike, Unban wins 7-6 :awesome:

if you didn't notice,

Luke (plays MK), Alvin & Kelvin (MK mains), Kyle (MK), Jamie (started beasting with MK), and Mark, you play MK every now and then. lolz

Let it run its course, I say.

[EDIT]

if we unban MK, drastic change to stagelist is in order (or just go Japan stagelist)

Major Tournaments don't even bother follow unity anymore (next one is RoS)

Just stick with unity. No point being one of the very few regions with him unbanned. Even California which was anti-ban is banning him and following unity. We'd just be hindering progress in our community.

Also I don't get how Kyle would even count as a vote(no offense), he literally complained for MK to be banned and then once MK was banned he was anti-ban. He isn't going to play seriously no matter which way you slice it so his vote is hardly worth mentioning.

While that may be true I still don't like the fact that he is banned. I mean before hand I wanted him banned because It gave me a chance to learn Marth again. But after the ban I realize dhow much I missed MK and how fun he is. With him gone now I really don't have any motivation (less so then before) to even bother playing this game. Unbalanced or not, its just not as fun without him there.

But that's just my point of view, I'm sure people like Brandon or ash just hate MK's guts for what they had to go through with MK legal, which I fully understand.

EDIT: Don't count me as a vote IDC, I'm just giving my 2 cents.

Arguing about who's vote is worth something opens a whole new debate. WE could go no for days about why we shouldn't count certain people.

i dont think that ash is pro ban....

but i guess we should give the ban a try.

i mean, for reasons that jack said, and specifically i dont want our scene to lag behind the rest of the unity ruleset using regions

um i think that ash will vote the way that will , in the end, make him or push him to become a better player.

so if mk is banned that would limit his progress to becoming a better player as mk makes you adjust and deal with harder options.

but i really cant speak for ash (even though i did LOLOL)

Brandon and Ash have no bias with MK, I know this because we've had the discussion countless times.

And Mark if we can't open up a debate on who's allowed to vote or not why bring up voting in the first place? You're giving a list but no argument to support why he should be unbanned in the first place - That's why I asked why you wanted him unbanned, which is my only issue with you bringing this up. On Apex day no less(I wonder why, MK won singles and stacked doubles). Also the reason for his ban was over-centralization, which you can clearly see on the apex results.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the stream for your last tournament (MK banned). More variety in character usage is always good :)

He'd destroy me in the blink of an eye :(

If we ever meet someday, I'd love to play him though! Why the sudden interest in this, lol?

I think we are hurting the community more by having him banned. Bigger tournaments that encourage OoS/OoC participants are still keeping him legal to get the attendance they need. A good example is Revival of Salt, there's no way that many Americans would've gone with MK banned. People who are going from here (Luke/ maybe brandon) will be hella salty vsing Mks. I don't care anyways, I can wait for the unban to tell you I told you so =/

There's nothing to understand. In the first half of my Brawl run I complained about MK vocally because of being held back when someone whipped him out. Since then that hasn't been the case at all. I have no qualms with fighting MK, but on a whole I can agree in that with our North America ruleset, MK is extremely overcentralizing. On one hand, I want him banned because of the near-instant advantage one gets as MK on a counterpick with the plethora of options. On the other hand? I'm up for unbanning him at the cost of our stagelist to make him not as impactful on the scene.

At this point in my game, any MK I come up against I don't find myself having issues. Certainly it always seems to be a Meta Knight that does me in when he is legal, but I'm not left scratching my head in frustration because it's that character. It just so happens the ones that beat me use MK, nothing more.

The overcentralization is what hurts. Truth be told, if people are butthurt over losing MK, then we're all just forgetting how MK being legal hurt all the same. If our numbers don't change and the scenes continue on as they always did? It just goes to show that with or without Meta Knight, our scene hurts one way or another.

I personally don't have a problem fighting Meta Knight. It's what Meta Knight is doing to the community as a whole that's a problem. Hence my pro-ban position.

lol. we were both at phoenix in september.

i was the brown guy who wanted some of yur sushi tray lulz
Yeah that Phoenix was such a shame for me. I had work so I came late, and nobody wanted to play me because they were "too busy with an important match." In the end, I didn't play anybody from out of BC.

If you don't care then why bring it up? lawl.

Also unbanning him for one tournament is silly. If we're talking on the larger scale most communities will have him banned. It'll hurt our progress if we don't know any other mu's aside from MK.

And you're right having him banned will hurt Luke's performance at Revival of Salt. But before this he has always been pro-ban, is that the only reason why he's anti-ban now?

I'm all for it too. I don't work on the weekends and usually get off at around late noon/early evening, so I can jump in. the more MKs the merrier, right?

Get 'em, Luke.

Np, Mark. Arguments are silly lol, but at the same time if you want people to come into agreement with you you'll have to exchange a few words back and forth dawg.

Sounds good. If there is another Phoenix one day, I'll try to take that day off.

From what I'm told, there's going to be a VERY big national tournament in Ontario in the summertime. During our spring/reading break (week of March 12th I think), there's going to be a WC "qualifier" where the winner will receive a $100 stipend to the summer tournament.

Anyway, I'm thinking this could be the next Phoenix? Who knows :p
