are you trying to connect to galaxy64, or what?

Some servers don't allow project 64k, or similar.

Have you ever gotten onto Galaxy 64 with a normal ping or is it always that high?

Every once in a while my ping will randomly jump into the 700s or something insanely high for what seems like no reason. It can last for up to a couple hours like that. Don't really know how to explain it but it always goes back to normal eventually.

@ Sheer, last night i successfully played a 2v1 vs someone but my 64 controller wasn't calibrated correctly so i was just standing there. but my ping was great and there was barely any lag. i calibrated it after but when i tried to get into g64, the problem began. it's still going on now.

i had/have it too,
in my opinion, it has to do with your isp changing their routing due to a lot of traffic, which might cause stupid routing to the server, that is why it lasts a day or two at max and reverts back as they change their routing again.

might also be that they are slowing down the traffic of these ports in order to bolst up the traffic of more important ports.
