Thought I would get the ball rolling with a RI thread for Brawl. I don't know how many RI players we have so far, but I'm certain our numbers are going to increase tremendously as a result of Brawl. We had a ton of melee players, but probably only about fifteen that would have been considered competitive (and by the end, I think Zoso, Emmy, and KevinM were the only players traveling to events further than CT or MA).
I'm sure we'll have far more this time around. Already, John (Yaxo) has made a return, and a ton of students at URI have gotten interested, and I bet some of them would be interested in local events. The other nice thing about URI is that we can use it to host events, so it might be possible to do tournaments every once in a while. If nothing else, I can host fests at my house, so long as we keep the numbers relatively small.
I'd also be happy to play any RI player online, but I can only do so when I'm visiting Johns house. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix my horrible connection at home, but its not looking good.
For those players new to smashboards and are from RI, feel free to introduce yourselves here and post your friend codes or whatever. The RI players are a good group.
