Mewtwo, R.O.B., and Charizard seem to be the three characters with the best up throw for a kill move. Mewtwo's u-throw launches the opponent at 90°. R.O.B.'s launches the opponent at 88°. Charizard's launches the opponent at 70°. When it comes to Mewtwo, DI'ing left or right works well. DI'ing away from the direction R.O.B. is facing works best compared to DI'ing toward. Charizard's, however, doesn't work that way. You'd think DI'ing away from the direction Charizard is facing would work just like it does for R.O.B. Rather, it's actually best to DI down and away from the direction Charizard is facing, or more accurately from what it seems, 114°.
Why must one DI down and away from the direction Charizard is facing, rather than DI'ing away from the direction it's facing in the same way one would do against R.O.B.?
