Something I've found very effective against people who like to stay close to the edge after you grab it is an edgehop onto the stage into a quick uiar. Its usually useful when its either a sweetspot grab or a close one. It usually tippers and it hits through part of the stage near the edge, so it works even if opponents aren't that close. Could be an accurate replacement for a fair or nair. Hey, it won me a ps3 :bee:

It almost always sweetspots from that position. You just need to remember to DI yourself upward to the stage since you can't sweetspot the ledge while doing an aerial (except Dolphin Slash of course).

You should also use it sparingly, since good opponents will catch on. Just add it to your large arsenal of options to do on the ledge.

Gee, in almost any situation, Marth has several options doesn't he? I guess that's what good characters are made of.

It's just something I found useful that you can do usually once or twice a match. Uair isn't usually used as often as fair or nair either so you don't have to worry about reduced kickback from diminishing returns.

I used to use Marth's side-B in Melee which gave him some good distance to recover, but that's gone now, it doesn't give you the airtime it used to.

Doesn't Neut. B do that 2 now? I could've sworn that ppl were saying that in the "untapped potential of shieldbreaker" thread.

I like to edgehop (if that means pressing back and then jumping towards the stage) and do a side b (dont know what its called) into a dolphin splash (doesnt always work but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Yeah best way I find to recover with Marth from far off is: throw 1st hit side-b, charge shieldbreaker (fully or not depends on how high up i am) and let it go...adds some nice horizontal distance especially when fully charged, and ALWAYS save that 2nd jump if you can cuz it sucks to get hit back by a projectile after having used your 2nd jump -_-

Not bad for someone who "sucks at Brawl"... the finest PS3 there is. You'll be able to enjoy MGS4! I'm jealous. :psycho:
