I always wondered where did this image came from, or where it did appear. Now that I got R3 from Uplay (From the "Legacy" games), it appears in the "Setup" window. Seeing R2 Rayman there is pretty odd. And I feel Murfy also has something more similar to his R2 appearance, or it may just be my imagination.

I recall earlier Rayman 3 footage using his 2 design in some places, so this is probably a remant of that.

Well, no Rayman unfournately.

The show itself was rather per the norm with Ubisoft, not really all that great but with a couple of pleasent suprises here and there. Still, the Star Fox thing looked pretty cool, DK in Mario+Rabbids with Grant playing the music live was a great treat, and Beyond Good and Evil 2 is looking to be potentially even more exciting with the inclusion of some familar faces.

At the very least, Star Fox in Starlink shows that Nintendo and Ubisoft are growing close to one another.

I'm feeling good about our boy's chances for Smash.

Yeah the star fox collab looks neat even though I'm not particularly interested in the game, Beyond Good and Evil still looks cool even if it's been years and there's still no gameplay to show for it which was disappointing. And as someone who's not an assassin's creed fan the new game looks fun, plus you can be a girl and be gay in it so bonus points for that. The rest of the show was kinda meh though.

We did see some gameplay footage of BG&E 2, it's in alpha but we saw it.

Yeah, hopefully next year we'll see some more concrete gameplay.

I like how Ubisoft has been marketing itself to the Switch userbase as of late. First they were trying to warm people up to the Rabbids with the Mario crossover, then we have Star Fox showing up in a game that no one seemed to care about before and turning it into what is now going to likely be the best-selling version. They're getting back into the Nintendo spotlight and this relationship certainly can't hurt a character who was almost already in Smash 4.

Surprised I haven't come around this thread yet but I want to give my support for Rayman. I don't know how each game manages to be so fun and challenging, but I'm glad. I'm glad he wasn't replaced by Rabbids, I'm glad his Smash chances are high, and I'm glad that we can hopefully leave this face behind us:

I was actually not expecting anything Rayman related in the first place, so, I'm not mad at that fact. Maybe someday after Ancel finishes WIld, R4 will come at last.

It's unfortunate as someone who loves both Rayman and BGAE that Ancel is such a genius, because I don't wanna have to choose between the two.

Welp, the time has come, gents. Smash is most likely getting shown off some odd hours from now, answering many questions that've been in everyone's heads since March. Here's to hoping this particular thread's biggest question is answered right out the gate. I'll be playing either Rayman 2,3 or Legends for good luck.

We all joke a lot about how Rayman is being neglected, and partly for good reason, we rarely hear a peep about Rayman and the franchise's future does seem a little uncertain. But if Beyond Good and Evil 2 needs to be made first before a new Rayman, than I'm perfectly fine with that. This is obviously something Michel Ancel has waited years to make and it looks like development is finally going smoothly.

And yeah, today is the day everyone! Get your bingo cards ready!

However, we got the surprise of Bomberman as an Assist Trophy, not a fighter. Which could very well mean that if Rayman did make it into Smash, it won't be in the way we want.

Regardless, whether or not he's in the game, playable or Assist Trophy, the fact that this game exists as it is is absolutely remarkable.

True. Still, we got Rayman as a trophy to begin with, which is just as odd as Bomberman being an Assist Trophy.

Sakurai got Snake and Cloud back, and Ubisoft has improved their relationship with Nintendo and made a big focus on the Switch. The latter may not have been soon enough for Ultimate's base roster, but I'm hoping Rayman comes through as DLC.
