Futuristic Arnold Schwarzenegger

Chance: 10%

Even though I nominated him I don't have a lot to add, honestly. He's definitely one of those iconic characters where even if he has very little connection to WB, he would still probably be on the devs' minds. But as far as we can tell, WB is focusing on IPs that are close to them. That's not to say that they will not aim for more left field characters in the future, but the T-800 right now feels like a low priority candidate, not to mention the additional costs to get Arny's likeness.

Want: 100%

The Terminator is awesome. The first two films are amazing with their blend of action, romance, sci-fi, elements of horror, and their great mix of practical effects and CGI which was groundbreaking for that time. Anything after the second film is merely fan fiction to me, but those first two installments are legendary. The T-800 is an absolute beast, the kind of character that I would like to see more of in this game. The bulky, intimidating factor combined with the blunt (and occasionally snarky) mannerism is cool to me. This would be just a hype all-around, not to mention it's Arnold freakin' Schwarzenegger.

Abstain on Superman. Haven't watched the show and right now I'm just not interested in it.

Foghorn: 37%
I think Foghorn has a good shot. He's a popular Looney Tune, he's somewhat defined by how he plays off of other characters, he's been a bit of a meme lately, and he has an announcer voice pack - the big concern is really 1. being out-priotised by the likes of Wile E; Daffy; Sam; e.t.c., and 2. his potential moveset, since his antics don't really have a distinct theme if that makes sense? Of course he's on the barn, that's a theme, but he doesn't have a signature trap or underlying theme to his hammerspace weapons in the way that Wile E. is always using Acme inventions; Sam has his guns and explosives; e.t.c. That being said, while MVS has a few side-over-protags, it doesn't typically abide by "moveset first" roster selection AFAIK, and Foghorn could be set apart from Bugs on virtue of being a heavyweight

I could see this actually. I'm probably giving this a more positive chance than most other users will. Terminator is an iconic film franchise that would fit the roster extremely well, with the other 80s film characters. The series is so stranger to crossovers, with the T-1000 featuring in games like Call of Duty, WWE 2K, Fortnite, Ghost Recon and Mortal Kombat. The rights holders don't seem like they're opposed The big issue facing the Terminator is being a non WB character, with WB only distributing some of the films, and the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series. I don't think this is a big issue though, we already have fringe cases like Jason, and Terminator characters have appeared in the Warner published Mortal Kombat series. Getting Arnold's likeness could be an issue, but other games have managed it, and there are ways around this anyway. I could see this happening, just maybe not right now.

Want - 80%
Terminator is cool. Unfortunately there are more bad movies than good ones but the first movie and T2 are classics. Would be a great fit for what this game is going for and could have some really cool interactions with the current cast. Smith and Iron Giant stand out in particular. There's a pretty neat moveset in there too.

Anime Superman
Chance - 70%
My adventures with Superman is pretty big right now. It is probably Tpthe most well regarded project that the character of superman has had in decades at this point. The show has been picked up for a season 3 and doesn't seem to have any plans to end right now. I think representation in some form could certainly happen. The most likey form would be a costume, though I wonder if MAWS Superman might be a little thinner than MVS Clark, but I don't see it as a big issue. In the very possible event Supergirl gets in, I think her black armour from the show is pretty much a lock for a skin.

Want - 50%
This show is pretty fun. I think it's an interesting modern take on Superman that lifts tropes from modern Shonen in a really cool way. I do think some of the designs can be hit or miss, with a lot of the villain designs in particular really suffering from this, but I do like it. I really like the idea of making a radical new take on the DCU, especially as it seems the scope of the show will expand further. I don't really think it needs a character of its own, though I don't hate the Lois Lane idea someone mentioned earlier, but in general I think a whole character would be unnecessary. Some skins could be really fun.

Higan
Chance: 25%.
Higan's in an interesting position in my mind. I'm not really sure how often it's mentioned here, but I genuinely think that more [adult swim] or Toonami-adjescent picks aren't something to write off as a possibility - and Higan, as some new blood on that front who doesn't have the same issues as other Toonami icons due to being WB-owned - does seem like a plausible pick at first glance. In fact, he's plausible enough that he's gotten his own video game - Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins. There's no shortage of moveset potential for him as a modern ninja, and he'd certainly have a pretty unique presence overall.

And yet... isn't it funny to think that as of fairly recently, another [as]-associated sword-wielding anime-inspired character got confirmed to be added going forward? Samurai Jack - while not a ninja, obviously - feels like he really throws a spanner in the works when it comes to Higan's chances. Now, obviously they'd function pretty differently - but I think that's still worth noting.

Couple that with the backlog of other [as]-associated characters who have massive fanbases behind them - such as the Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost, or a Smiling Friends rep - or even more unusual picks that've developed a smaller following, like Eric Andre or Xavier... and then consider other anime stuff that WB's been involved in somehow or another, like JJBA or FLCL... it starts to look like Higan's not quite on the same level. (To be clear, I don't think they'd "get in over Higan", that wouldn't be how it works - but if looking at it from the angle of wanting to promote Toonami or [as], there's competition there.)

Want: 40%.
I'm not really familiar with Ninja Kamui, but from my research into the subject, I do think Higan could be a pretty unique take on the ninja archetype within fighting games - especially platfighters - and I don't doubt that PFG could do him some justice with some pretty interesting ideas overall. That being said... there's a lot of ninjas across media, even just WB stuff, that could be included - and while I don't think characters related to certain properties get in "over other properties" necessarily, [adult swim] and Toonami have a lot of picks that I would personally resonate with a little more. Nothing against him, just... yeah.

Foghorn Leghorn
Chance: 30%.
Foghorn's in a bit of a weird spot too, honestly. On the one hand - there's absolutely a concept there for him, being some strange take on a rekka character who might be able to constantly "push" opponents backward while berating them... and as a Looney Tunes character, there's no licensing issues, and there is precedent for him being included what with Bugs, Taz, and Marvin already being around.

On the other hand, Foghorn's hardly the most popular Tune out there - not to knock him, but when his competition consists of characters like Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Wile E. Coyote, the Roadrunner, and so forth, it might feel a little more difficult to justify him specifically. Sure, it's worth noting that he's been a bit of a meme recently (and memes do play a part in character selection) - but let's be real, if PFG wanted a "meme" character akin to their take on Shaggy from the Looney Tunes series, there's a pretty... "big" contender there.

I also think it's worth noting that Foghorn's arguably most iconic element - his voice - would lend far better to an announcer pack than it would being limited to interactions. Foghorn's always been known for stringing together some pretty striking strings that feel like they'd lend better to him commenting on a match in a more general sense, rather than just being within it. Even aside from the leak suggesting that's how he'll be represented, I still think this applies.

Is he an unlikely pick? I wouldn't say so, in that there's been a decent amount of popularity behind him as of late and in that he could, with a little creativity, fulfil a pretty unique role and concept amongst the roster. That being said, he feels like he's kind of superceded by other picks - and another role, at that.

Want: 55%.
I'll freely admit, despite being aware of the Looney Tunes, I'm hardly a diehard fan of them - and while I do think Foghorn would be a pretty fun pick who could lend to a lot of funny interactions and the like, I also think that - like I mentioned earlier - there's other characters from the series that might bring about something a little more unique. It would undeniably be pretty funny to see him berating characters like Jason Voorhees, though - maybe that's the real appeal of crossovers like this to begin with.

Noms!
I'll slip my noms over to the concept of Fox animated television representation - such as Family Guy or Futurama. My justification for this is that these shows gained a large amount of popularity through syndication on [adult swim] to the point that they became quite notably associated with the brand, and in some cases were revived from cancellation due to this. (If this is a little too vague or poorly-related, feel free to let me know.)

Foghorn Leghorn

Chance - 80%

Now that I'm confident the game is going to last at least a few years, I'm actually fairly confident on Foghorn's odds. He's already one of the VERY few NPCs with an announcer pack, which is a good first step in the door. He's popular, and importantly, is one of the only Looney Tunes who can be reasonably made into a Tank class character, adding gameplay variety. His only real competition for that role is Gossamer, unless they want to go for a much deeper cut with the likes of Nasty Canasta. I do think he'll probably wait until at least Daffy, Wile E., and maybe Tweety are in first, but I think he's absolutely on the short list.

Want - 100%
I mean...he's Foghorn Leghorn. He's one of the funniest Looney Tunes, and people love him for a reason. He's a giant rooster who mouths off while throwing his weight around. He's brimming with personality and would stand out so much on the roster - in a good way! He's definitely one of the remaining Looney Tunes characters I want the most, alongside a Granny and Tweety tagteam a la Rosalina and Luma, and Porky Pig.

Half of my nominations to T.O.M., and half to Don Lockwood.

Foghorn Legorn

Foghorn is so known, but he is not very very popular as Bugs, Daffy, Taz and others, it's okay that he is added as NPC or announcer, but it could be good to see Foghorn as a fighter.

Want: 65%

well, Forhorn is not so popular as i said as ther other looney tunes characters,i know that he is a good character, but he is not so iconic as the rest of the characters

"I'm going to TEAR the organization to pieces"-Higan
Higan

Theme Song: VENGEANCE

29%: Ninja Kamui was one of the original anime made for Toonami on [Adult Swim], the show focuses on Higan, a former ninja who goes on a journey to get revenge on the organization that he used to work with after they tried to kill him but with the cost of losing his family(his wife & son), but when he faces off against the ninjas he learns that he needed to adapt by gearing up into a kamui which is a mechsuit armor in the show in order to stand a chance against the organization, it's leader, and an old friend. the series also follows other characters with Higan who have their own goals to accomplish against the villains, Emma, a former ninja who is helping higan with his revenge with tech, Mike, a off duty cop who's risking his job to solve the case behind the organizations' CEO(Not the main one, another one), and Jason, a hacker who's been trying to get payback against the same company the organizations tied with.

The show premiered on February 11th and then concluded it's run on May 5th of this year, it's still rerunning on the block and currently may not be airing it's japanese run in japan(Atleast that's what wikipedia says, correct me if i'm wrong) yet the subbed version already should have aired in america. Apparently Adult Swim is thinking of making more for this show after it's run on Toonami did pretty well but are waiting to see if the original animation studio is willing to do another season(personally, i wouldn't want another one since Higan's story's done unless it's a prequel story or we focus on someone else).

Being one of the original anime on adult swim besides FLCL which is owned by them, Ninja Kamui could be an easy choice to go with if they wanted too and considering what higan is capable of in the show he can certainly work off as a unique character for the game, though what may push him away from getting in is people's general appeal for supporting higan in the game aswell as pushing for the main anime series' that aren't 100% owned by WB or even adult swim similar to FLCL, so with Higan it may be very tough for him to get in Multiversus.

Alternate Song: Unbroken

30%: In spite of people's opinions being harsh and the show not being the best, i thought Ninja Kamui was really good, i like seeing the action, i may like Higan too, aswell as Big D(The Man), and some of the music is great too even if the music may be more on the lines of "Edgy Emo Rock" i still like it.

for higan being in Multiversus? i think putting him would mostly give Ninja Kamui some attention and showing some representation for adult swim's original anime, yes there's FLCL but they bought it not own it. He can also have a mechanic were he can put on his Kamui Suit to increase his speed, durability, and attack potency since in the show it's shown that higan can't defeat normal mechsuit users due to being outmatched by them, and with his own he was able to keep up with them, So Higan can be played out as strong & fast yet weak in his normal appearance then change whenever he's being overwhelmed or the player atleast.

So all you want about the show however the potential higan has for the game can sound awesome.

"Pay Attention, Son. I Say, Pay Attention!"-Foghorn Leghorn
Foghorn Leghorn

Theme Song: Foghorn sings Doo-Dah

90%: Foghorn Leghorn, one of the most iconic characters from the looney tunes. he's a full grown humanoid chicken who usually is seen at the farm minding his normal day until someone does something and he gives them a big ol' smack in the face, shouting full on sentences, telling them "Boy, I Say Boy" in them trying to tell them what their doing while giving them some stress, although there's always that chicken hawk who comes around trying to eat him for lunch.

He's appeared in pretty much various looney tunes media, movies such as the Space Jam Series, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Coyote Vs. ACME, and Rabbits Run. shows such as The Looney Tunes Show, Tiny Toons Loonaversity, and Wabbit. Games such as ACME Arsenal, Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout, and World Mayhem, including other guest star appearances & cameos in other media such as GEICO, Family Guy, Roger Rabbit, & Even The Chip N Dale Live-Action Movie.

Foghorn's chances mostly amount to people seeing him in some other form other than a playable character and well they're mostly getting that as Foghorn is getting an announcer pack from the datamines(the memes at the time felt right) although foghorn's popularity status can help him be a fighter other looney tunes characters have more vocal requests and possibly more priority to player first games & warner for the time being, plus overbeating on a franchise could make his chances hurt a bit more if fans start complaining unless balance is added, either way foghorn shouldn't have the worst chances of being in Multiversus however there are some factors that could hurt them.

Alternate Song: **** of the Walk

80%: Well i like a lot of the Looney Tunes characters foghorn is among them, whenever he shows up onscreen i often feel entertained by him his southern accent, warming attitude, and funny smack talk makes me enjoy the character.

While i do agree with the idea of him being an announcer best suiting him i love the other idea of him being a fighter too, just have him showing his slapstick comedy and smack talking characters would help foghorn stick out.

Ninja Gaide-oh wait wrong series

Chance: 17%

Being a very recent series does have its advantages, and the show does have merits with it getting good reviews and having a game based on it, so there is some effort being put into pushing this IP. However, with the competition from bigger and more famous Adult Swim shows being so prevalent, I'm not sure how much priority Ninja Kamui would have. Generally speaking that's not a major issue, but considering Ninja Kamui has yet to make a big splash, it may have to be continued in some way to have a strong chance, otherwise it could fall into the same trap as many, many other IPs have fallen into where they are no longer being used and only have a humble fan base to push for them.

Want: 50%

I haven't seen this show, but it would be nice to get Adult Swim shows in here that are along the lines of this one, in addition to all the obvious one. Plus I'm always up for a playable Ninja.

______________

Big Bird

Chance: 25%

He may be coming at some point, I feel. But at the same time there is something that gives me pause. Now there is something in the datamines that points to Foghorn potentially coming to the game in some fashion that isn't a fighter. Of course, just because a character is in a non-playable role that doesn't mean that they can't become a fighter. Banana Guard already proved that. However, it makes me doubt how much of a priority Foghorn would be if out of all the Looney Tunes characters absent from the game, he's the one that gets the side content treatment. You could say that that is an advantage in his favor as that demonstrates his popularity and that is a fair point. But it just tells me that at least at this point in time, the devs are probably not focusing on making him playable.

Want: 55%

Sure, he could be fun and he's an entertaining character overall. I'm not clamoring for anymore Looney Tunes characters at the moment, but if he got added I wouldn't complain at all.

Chance: 10%

Texas Chainsaw Massacre needs no introduction. Being an iconic slasher series, with the first film being one of the most influential films in the genre, this is one of the obvious picks if you want a solid horror pick. Not to mention Warner Bros already negotiated to have Leatherface in Mortal Kombat X, which is a good sign. Plus you have a recognizable slasher villain who has a god dam chainsaw, and not many people carry around that weapon with style like Leatherface does.

However, Warner Bros does have a slight lack of history with the franchise. They have distributed three of the movies and there is the aforementioned MK guest appearance, but otherwise the synergy isn't really there. Even with Jason now in the game, there is still characters like Pennywise and Freddy who have a stronger history with WB who would likely get in first. Now if, in the future, those two get in and there is an established history of third party characters and if MultiVersus is still in a healthy state at that point, then I would be willing to bump up this rating. But even now, I'm still skeptical on third parties.

Want: 100%

I'm always up for more horror picks, especially ones with chainsaws. The original Texas Chainsaw is an absolutely legendary film with the realistic, rusty look of the visuals and the opening sequence with the narrator giving the movie a real, disturbing vibe to it. It's a film that I really adore and while I don't have much history with the franchise (the only other films I've watched are the remake and its prequel), I certainly do want to get into it more someday.

I might rate Mac and Bloo another day.

Leatherface is in an... interesting spot. There's a few things that do work in their favour, but then there's other things that... don't. First things first, I don't think licensing would be too big an issue - content from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has appeared in all kinds of games before now such as Call of Duty, Rocket League, Dead by Daylight and Mortal Kombat, and while the film rights for the series have bounced around a little, the IP as a whole is still owned by Vortex Inc. - who seem open to this sort of thing. With that in mind, I don't think Warner would have too many issues on the licensing department... aside from the fact that licensing is, itself, a concern, especially when Warner arguably have a couple of horror characters in their own back pocket.

In addition, beyond just the quite grotesque nature of the character and media (which was pretty much side-stepped with Jason and in a lot of the franchise's other appearances in crossovers, so I don't think that'd be an issue), there's other issues that spring to mind with Leatherface specifically. Now, a lot of people far more intelligent than me have dug into this a lot more effectively, so I'll summarise the whole thing with a tl;dr - certain readings of Leatherface's character suggest a potential allegory for the idea of trans people being seen as violent impostors, as well as the demonisation of trauma survivors and the neurodiverse. Do I think this would massively raise issues? Probably not, in practice - but I do think there'd be some trepidation from Warner suits as a result.

Of course, there are some other considerations. The idea of a slow, hulking brute with an obscured face and an iconic weapon of choice does already exist in the roster with Jason, and while Leatherface could absolutely make up an interesting pairing for Jason (and has, in the past), Jason has a far more iconic rivalry with another slasher villain that I think people would be more excited to see - and has less... baggage surrounding him.

Want: 30%
Honestly, I wouldn't be entirely against this, but it wouldn't be my first pick. Leatherface absolutely lends to a lot of moveset potential, and I can't deny that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre would lend well to inclusion in a game like this one. The issue is that I think there's some more interesting horror characters to go with - even putting aside baggage, I can't help but think other horror picks like Freddy Kreuger or Chucky could be a little more mechanically unique. Also, come to think of it, that baggage I mentioned does make me think it might be in slightly bad taste to have a potential teamup of Leatherface and Bugs Bunny on the cards. Not that I don't think Leatherface could work, they absolutely could... they're just not my cup of tea.

Mac & Bloo
Chance: 20%
I think Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends is in an interesting spot too, but for different reasons. Obviously the best thing going for it is the lack of licensing issues - being a wholly owned Cartoon Network show - but then that brings up another consideration... are Mac & Bloo the most likely characters from that era? This might seem like an odd point, but when their direct competition is arguably characters like Ben Tennyson, characters from the Teen Titans show, and so on and so forth, it's an interesting one to consider.

There's a lot of nostalgia for shows from this period - but then you have to consider that CN also has other periods to represent, like its early days with characters like Dexter or Johnny Bravo, some more stuff from the 2010s like Regular Show or Gumball, more modern stuff, [as] stuff... It's an odd point, but I think the issue with FHFIF representation is that it's in an unfortunate bracket of not really having as much outright nostalgia for it to make it a shoe-in, while also not having all too much in terms of recent stuff to promote (besides a preschool-oriented spinoff in 2022.)

Mac & Bloo absolutely lend to having potential, of course. There's limitless stuff you could pull off with the themes of "imagination", and their unique appearances and abilities would lend to a pretty fun moveset... though, I think it's worth considering that the "two-in-one" character concept at its most baseline level kind of already exists with Tom & Jerry. Of course, they'd be different mechanically - but I think it still bears consideration.

It's difficult to rate them this low, but unless there's someone in PFG who really pushes for them, they kind of feel like they'd get shafted in favour of more "iconic" picks from the era.

Want: 40%
I was never a massive fan of the show when I was younger, but I think I can see the appeal of the concept - and on a mechanical level, there's plenty of potential for how the pair could work in action. That being said... I feel like I'd be pretty indifferent to their inclusion, if only because of my own lack of involvement with the brand. That being said, I wouldn't think of it as them "replacing" a "more iconic pick" or something of the sort - they have their own merits, and like I mentioned, the theme of "imagination" lends to all kinds of fun with their moveset.

I'll pass my noms over to Mr. Frog. I think he'd be interesting.

Foster's is a very beloved show, and one WB hasn't shied away from using in nostalgia merch, and there's not much to say about its chances as a whole besides "it's overshadowed by other potential CN shows from that era", which can be said about basically anything (not already in in some form) from pre-AT CN other than the Eds or Benjamin the Tenjaminth regardless of whole chance - so that kinda puts the big emphasis on Mac & Bloo themselves, who well... hoo boy. So, what he have here is the generic main boy, and the most divisive character. Not a good look for speculation, MCs or otherwise. MVS hasn't really done duo characters outside of Tom & Jerry (two characters so inherently tied to their interactions with one another it'd be impossible to have them portrayed any other way), which is bad news for Mac, a regular boy in a show with "Imaginary" in the title, even if Bloo the paddleboarding shapeshifter isn't going to have issues solo; while Bloo is now taking the Duggee role in a preschool reboot of the show - which on it's own is a non-issue, Heyo BMO and Bugs Bunny Builders aren't effecting the game at all - but this is the only Foster's content in the works, and the first time the franchise has been touched in almost 2 decades, which does put into question how WB may want not just Bloo, but the entire Foster's IP to be percieved during the show's run.

All noms, still, to Ted Turner

Chance: 63%

Leatherface is a iconic horror villain, he have various appearences on other games, he can be an good add and one more horror rep, since MVS have Jason and soon Bettlejuice, i think that the devs could use him based on original or 2013 reboot or more original, like as was did on Jason

Want: 55%

it could be good him on roster,nd for me is a okay choice, since i'm not a big fan from the movie series

Mac & Bloo

Chance: 38%

Mac & Bloo are interesting choices, they could be have a gimmick similar from Ice Climbers, and that's fine of add a 2000s Cartoon Network rep, who could be good for some nostalgic persons

Want: 81%

they are a good choice and could work as just one character of a rep,it's not my biggest pick, but it's neat

I'm gonna make a brief public service announcement that will benefit everyone here.

If you start your writeup but get interrupted or if you want to take a break, copy and paste the writeup into Google Docs or any kind of platform where you know for certain it will be saved.

Smashboards has a problem with deleting "saved" text that hasn't been posted after a few days. Keep that in mind and save your posts somewhere else if you are not gonna submit it right away. A lot of you put great effort into your writeups and I would hate to see what just happened occur again.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is an extremely iconic horror movie. It is extremely influential and birthed a lot of the tropes that would be seen in later slasher movies such as the Friday the 13th series. The film would be followed up by multiple sequels, a remake, and a prequels. There are numerous comics and other tie in material, even getting it's own multi-player video game a few years ago. Leatherface himself is an iconic movie villain, with a striking visual image. He has made guest appearances in games like Call of Duty, Dead by Daylight and Mortal Kombat. The franchise seems to always be around in some form.

We know horror is something the team are interested in. We already have Jason and there have been several teases towards Pennywise. TCM isn't a Warner owned franchise, but they did distribute some of the movies and there is his appearance in Mortal Kombat X. I think if the rights holders where interested then PFG would go for it. I think the biggest thing hurting him is the high competition he faces in his genre. Freddy Krueger and Evil Dead's Ash Williams both have WB connections and are pretty highly requested. There's also characters like Ghostface and Chucky, who don't have super strong WB connections but have a decent track record with crossovers like this.

I also do wonder if there may be some concerns around the character of Leatherface. His being a mentaly challenged murderer may make him a harder sell for the roster than even the undead zombiefied killing machine Jason. There have also beenreadings of the character that lean into negative stereotypes about certain individuals. I don't think this would really stop WB, as we are still getting new TCSM projects, but I do think the potential concerns are with noting. His movies are extremely grizzly and violent, for the most part. He does have Funko pops and other such merchandise so I don't think it would actually be too big an issue though. He could certainly happen, but I don't think it'll be soon as they will likey want to space out horror based characters.

Want - 45%
The original Taxas Chainsaw Massacre is, in my opinion, one of the greatest horror films of all time. It's extremely well directed, almost feeling real at some points. None of the sequel stuff has ever really did much for me though. The ones I've seen parts from leaned too much into comedy, or too much into jumpscares and modern horror tropes. Leatherface is still a really iconic character with a cool striking visual image. Jason ended up turning out really well so I'm down to see what they could do with him. Personally there are horror characters I would prefer over him, but I wouldn't be opposed to him. The game could always use more tanks, and chainsaws are a weapon that they could really work with.

Chance - 43%
I think a Fosters rep and of itself has a pretty decent chance. I've already spoken about this but the show was a pretty big hit for CN, getting reruns pretty frequently and gaining consistently good ratings. It's getting a new pre-school focused reboot soon. I still hear it talked about fairly often. As with most Cartoon Network picks, the biggest thing it has against it is competition from other shows. I could see it happening down the line.

As for Mac and Bloo? Honestly, if it happens I think it'll just be Bloo by himself. The 2v2 focus of this game means that they have generally avoided doing duo characters of this nature, with the exception of Tom & Jerry, who don't play like a traditional duo character. Finn & Jake and Rick and Morty are both split up, and it looks like the same will happen with Mordicai and Rigby. I really don't think we'll see a true two in one character like this any time soon. I don't really see what Mac could bring to a potential Bloo moveset that he couldn't do on his own.

It's also fully possible we get a different Fosters character. Wilt was discussed recently and there are also options like Coco and Eduardo. I don't see Mac being the character chosen when there are so many different abilities and body builds available to the team

Want - 30%
I like Fosters. It's a cute show. I think Bloo could be pretty fun, with or without Mac. To be fully honest, though, Fosters is honestly kind of a case where I think the side characters are just much more interesting to me than the main duo. I think the other imagery friends are just more interesting. I do think there's some fun stuff Bloo could do, and while I have no issue with Mac, if they're gonna put the time into doing a full on duo character, there are several other picks I'd take first.

Noms to Gabriel.

"High Pitch Screaming with a running chainsaw"-Bubba

Leatherface

Theme Song: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Theme Song

40%: Leatherface is the iconic chainsaw wielding cannibal from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Series, the series has a spam of 9 movies total, has a series of comics published over the years, video game appearances such as Mortal Kombat, Dead by Daylight, Rocket League(Wow, really?), & Call of Duty plus it's own online horror game to boot, and Leatherface even cross-over with Jason during the comics too.

Warner Brothers had worked on the series before but they don't fully own the franchise and while it's likely the owners of the series wouldn't mind lending leatherface to Multiversus, there are some things keeping the confused cannibal from getting in such as Warner focusing on the horror characteres they've fully own or even the neurodiversing & trans issues people have brought up, though they might bother them in the long run bubba will still compete with the likes of Freddy, Pennywise, and Ash who has more chances of getting in the game then him.

Alternate Theme: The Massacre/Survivors' Theme from Dead by Daylight
Abstain: I am familiar with Leatherface but never got to fully experience The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movies and might be on the middle end of how i feel about watching cannibalism & gore onscreen, as for him in Multiversus? i mostly wonder how they'll make him play or how his design will look like, i'm thinking a overweight butcher with a distructing face.

"Yeah, it's just like Bloo said. With him living here, my mom will be happy, Terrance will leave me alone, and i can visit him every day! Our problems are solved!/This place is crazy, I love it!"-Mac & Bloo

Mac & Bloo
Theme Song: Main Theme of Foster’s Home

20%/70%/40%: Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends was one of cartoon network’s most popular shows back in the 2000’s era, the show revolves Mac & Bloo as the former is forced to give up the latter by his mom and found a foster home dedicated to imaginary friends who’s owners are too old for them so they put them up for adoption, they wound up meeting characters like Wilt, the tallest red guy who’s good at basketball despite a few broken body parts, Eduardo, the purple monster who scares off bad people but is ultimately a huge caring fella, Coco, a bird with female features who only speaks one word, and many other friends along the way as they get into some various shenanigans, adventures, and mishaps with them or on their own sometimes.

The show lasted for a total of 6 seasons, 3 movies(i count House of Bloo’s and Good Wilt Hunting as films), 2 handheld games from Nintendo, various crossover appearances such as Fusion Fall, Punch Time Explosion, & The Upcoming Jellystone Crossover with other CN Shows, and Promotional appearances at the Macy’s Day Parade(With Rick Astley one time).

I think when it comes to Foster’s chances? Cartoon Network, Warner, and or Player First Games could try to put someone from the show in it just depends on if they are interested in doing it or if they think fans would like it, which i believe they do though to me it’s complicated to tell, i think the upcoming preschool show should give them the idea to promote someone in Multiversus for the game and Bloo is confirmed to be the only one who will play the main role again which makes me believe he should be likely to get in plus he’s got good ideas for a moveset & maybe interaction potential that can make people like him(or hate him depending WHO YOU ARE), Mac is in a tough spot because so far Craig said he couldn’t find a way to put him in the spin-off and if bloo were to be on his own then that’ll leave his imaginary godkid up for planning and at best mac could work like a support type of fighter though nobody seems to believe he’d work well on his own, there’s also some competition that might get in the way if they become too much for their chances in the game too if it comes down to it.

But Mac & Bloo or Bloo is his own wouldn’t be a bad idea as long as there’s fans of the show who care for them & potential that puts them high on the spot to warrant as a fighter.

Alternate Theme: Never Gonna Give You Up(Rock Cover by The Animal In Me) by Rick Astley
69%: I like Foster’s, it is a series i want to keep on looking back at fondly. Nowadays it’s almost hard to enjoy the show no thanks to a "group/people" who influenced me to hide away from the show by pretty much hating one of the characters cause they always treat him like he's just at fault for being unlikeable & treating him like he's completely awful(They’re also the reason why i couldn’t rate Wilt on here, no offense to him but i don’t want to see him get in over bloo for negative reasons), but my thoughts aren’t completely messed up from them so thank god for that.

It’d like to see Mac & Bloo or the latter on their own as a fighter, it be cool and there one of the other important characters from the show that i think deserves to be added atleast, plus if jack can get a glow up after punch time explosion than it’d be neat to see them do the same to the fosters characters.

My Nominations
-Prohyas & Vambre
-Kazuma & Co.
-What a Cartoon! Content

Updated on 8/13/24 at 12:39 PM: Added my ratings for Leatherface and added an extra nominee.

There ain't really a 2013 reboot. The 2013 movie is actually (one of several) sequels that ignores everything after the first film, similar to Halloween. There was a remake in 2003.

Day over.

Rate the Cecils and TOM, both of which are from Toonami.

The Cecil Monsters were at one point the network's UK mascots during the 2006 rebranding (they are shown in the first video below), and I don't think TOM needs any introduction.

Here are some videos to get into the nostalgia mood:

THE CECILS ARE HERE!!!!!!
Chance: 0%

So, some context: in 2006, Toonami UK, and UK only, changed its brand and programming - adopting reruns of live action programming (a classic Cartoon Network "we're jealous of Disney" moment) from the 90s like Parker Lewis and minimizing anime content - it lasted only slightly over a year before turning into "Cartoon Network Too", a channel that was just the same programming as Cartoon Network but shuffled on the schedule a little. Along with that were a group of mascots called the Cecils, disgusting Minion/Rabbid-type creatures that would uhh... walk up to the screen holding signs, replacing the iconic edgy Y2K Toonami look with... cyan. Just cyan. Barely any content from this era is avaliable online and I had to do some relatively deep Googling to find out their names.

This is territory even NASB wouldn't touch - interstitial material, UK-only, widely loathed, represents an extreme loss of identity, already from a side-channel, barely archived online, doesn't even do anything in their appearances, really a species and more a character, it's the perfect mixture to get a definitive no, obscurity crossed with the few that know of them loathing them. The only WB characters I can imagine being less likely than this are bad taste stuff like Bosko.

Want: 1%
It would be funny for 5 seconds, I like the idea of interstitial reprsentation, and I could tell people I called it for years to come, but ultimately they're repugnant little creatures with basically no positive aspects I can latch on to them, even as someone with a liking for the 90s gross-out aesthetic they're clearly late to the party of and enjoys rallying behind more regrettable pieces of corporate history like this (big Dashing Super Guy for Smash supporter here) - and that's assuming TOM comes first.

TOM is a interesting pick,he is literally the R.O.B. from Cartoon Network, and it could be excelent to see him on multiVerus, TOM could have a moveset based on shorts from Toonami or having original attacks,Toonami is a good progamming block and could be nostalgic with some people, and i think that this block is so...original,i think, for an anime-focused block.

i don't have strong nostalgia on Toonami, but i heard a lot on this block, and i think that TOM have potencial to be a playable character, and as i said,he is the R.O.B. from Cartoon Network

The Cecils
Chance: 0.05%. (If decimals aren't allowed, I'll just round down to zero.)
The only reason they're not at an absolute zero percent chance here is simple; they're WB owned, meaning that - in theory - it's not completely and utterly impossible for them to get chosen.

It's possible for someone at PFG to have decided that they want to include a playable character to represent the Toonami block, to somehow have awareness of a short-lived mid-2000s channel redesign exclusive to the UK and Ireland, and to (either genuinely or ironically) appreciate the Cecils enough to include them as a dedicated playable character. And, conveniently, the Cecils aren't in the same boat as other true WB no-hopers like Duck Hitler or Bosko, in that there's not particularly problematic or genuinely questionable elements of their character or design that puts a roadblock there.

Key word is "possible", in the same sense that it's "possible" for the moon to suddenly be transmutated into a sausage - that is to say, unfathomably unlikely.

Let's put aside that Toonami has more iconic "mascots" for a moment - like Moltar, TOM, or one of the countless characters from anime associated with the network, because that ultimately isn't the be-all and end-all of how characters are chosen. What do the Cecils specifically bring that none of them would? Ultimately... it boils down to a list consisting of "making the screen cyan", "holding a sign", and "marketable characters that are worse than the Minions". I know this seems reductive, but it's difficult to reduce these characters much more than they are.

I don't want to be completely unfair in this ranking, because I think there's... vague sprinklings of a good idea here. The issue is that they're almost all better-served in some other way. You want someone who communicates with signs instead of speech? Wile E. Coyote is right there. You want a bizarre representative of bumps on a CN channel spinoff? The Dawn Is Your Enemy would probably fit better than this.

Ultimately, if you wanted to put a little sign-holding monster with a repugnant and """marketable""" design in the roster, though... at that point just make an OC. The amount of work you'd need to put into including a Cecil just wouldn't be worth it for the, like, ten people who would recognise them.

Want: 1%.
This probably seems like a weird justification, but honestly... if they were added, I'm sure PFG would have worked out a decent reason to include them, and they would have a moveset. I imagine that moveset would be simplistic, derivative, and quite boring, but it would be a moveset. A Cecil sure would be a playable character in the PFG developed crossover platform fighting game MultiVersus. Sure, it'd be funny to go "literally who" and have to delve through the (approximately) two websites on the entire internet that have any information on them at all. Yes, it'd be funny to watch your online news websites like Dexerto or Polygon trip over themselves to report on ****ing Cecil. For all of about five minutes. There's just so many better characters to do exactly that with.

TOM
Chance: 30%.
Now we're getting somewhere! Okay, derision aside - TOM's in an interesting spot, because while I've seen quite a lot of people suggest his inclusion - and he is undoubtedly an icon of the Toonami block that'd be a beloved, fan-favourite pick amongst Toonami fans - the issue in my mind is mostly the wider reception.

TOM's not in the state of being a literal who, and he'd absolutely have moveset potential with some creativity that I'm sure PFG could provide - but if PFG or WB, for whatever reason, specifically wanted a Toonami rep that'd get the internet talking... surely their first thought would be to look at the shows actually run on the block? As much as Goku being in a crossover platform fighter is a bit of a meme, you have to admit he'd be a fantastic Toonami rep. Or, if not him, DIO. Or Haruko. Or someone from Samurai Champaloo. Or Naruto. Or Spike. And so on and so forth - that's not even getting into potential [as] candidates in his place.

Of course, TOM is fully WB-owned and there's no issues with licensing that other "Toonami reps" might run into - and online support for him has actually been pretty impressive, which seems to be somethng that PFG actually do consider here and there when including content. That being said, there's a surprising amount of competition for him that'd need to be considered, and his mostly quite static role means he'd probably be ripe for inclusion as a background cameo somehow or other. (Like, imagine him being interviewed on a Space Ghost: Coast to Coast stage. It'd be perfect.)

Want: 60%.
I honestly think TOM could be pretty cool, and I've seen some neat concepts floating around in relation to him that'd honestly be a lot of fun. Robots are an... annoyingly underrated archetype in games like this, and TOM's anime connections could lend to a lot of fun with some creativity. Plus, the idea of a Toonami rep is conceptually pretty fun, and it's not something I'd be against at all. Then again, I think there's other picks from the Toonami/[as] sphere of influence that I'd prefer. Y'know, I weirdly don't have much to say on him that I haven't already. He's neat.

Noms: Y'know what, let's get weird. I'm putting mine towards Mr. Frog.

T.O.M.

T.O.M., or Toonami Operations Module, is the mascot of Toonami, a programming block that aired on Cartoon Network from 1997 to 2008. In the block's first two years, it was actually hosted by Moltar from Space Ghost: Coast to Coast instead. T.O.M. showed up in his first incarnation in 1999, and the rest was history. After 2008, the management shake ups at Cartoon Network led to the cancellation of Toonami. However, after an Adult Swim April Fools joke in 2012 brought back the block for one night, a massive grassroots fan campaign led to Adult Swim bringing back Toonami permanently as a weekend block. If you want to feel old, T.O.M. has been broadcasting his shows on Adult Swim for longer than he did on Cartoon Network.

T.O.M. himself is an android who travels through space in his spaceship alongside his on-board AI companion, SARA (she started out as a talking computer program who could run things on the ship, but in more recent years she developed a mobile hardlight form that lets her physically move about the range of the ship), while broadcasting Toonami back to Earth, a task given to him by Moltar. And this mission, needless to say, was successful: Toonami is often credited for massively increasing the popularity and awareness of anime in the United States as a direct result of Toonami broadcasting Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. So much about the block became instantly iconic: its use of drum and bass music, the chill video game reviews, the killer lineup of shows, and, of course, the host, T.O.M. himself.

Those who don't know much about Toonami might be confused as to how T.O.M. would work. After all, isn't he just a block host who shows up in bumpers, sitting in a control room chair and saying what show is up next? Well, that's actually far from the truth.

Throughout its broadcast history, Toonami has occasionally aired specials called TIEs (Total Immersion Events), which are basically just T.O.M. shows. They can all be found archived on YouTube if you'd like to marathon them. They feature him as the main character in sci-fi stories, such as the famous first TIE, The Intruder, which featured a ravenous space blob getting aboard the ship, forcing to T.O.M. to confront it only to lose his life, leading to T.O.M.'s first reincarnation into a new form: T.O.M. 2. T.O.M. has taken multiple forms over the years.

Currently he's on his seventh incarnation, T.O.M. 6 (the discrepancy comes from the brief use of T.O.M. 3.5). Of them all, T.O.M. 6 is the current model while T.O.M. 3 is the most popular, longest lasting, and well known, so if he were to get in, he'd probably use 6 as the default and have 3 as a legendary skin. Though almost all of the variants could be skins, save for T.O.M. 1 (due to being incredibly short in comparison to later models) and T.O.M. 4 (who has a wildly different, and pretty unpopular, design, and was later revealed to be a different individual all together).

I also put together a T.O.M. moveset a while back for those interested in how he could work. Heavy close combat mixed with sci-fi weaponry abounds, with a few choice DBZ references for flavor. I could see him actually being a bit like Fox in these regards (minus the DBZ references lol).

Description: TOM is a Bruiser character with a sci-fi flair, boasting high impact attacks supplemented by a few long ranged additions. By using his grounded neutral attack, TOM can get stronger the longer he stays in control of the fight, making him heavily momentum-based.

Dash Attack: Rolling Stance - TOM runs forward and does a leaping forward roll, doing damage. TOM can also cancel the ending of this move into his grounded neutral special, doing extra damage on the first blaster shot.

Grounded Neutral Attack: SARA, Begin Broadcast - TOM does a quick downward punch toward the ground, doing damage and planting a comms device in the process. A small electronic beacon emerges from it and gives off waves, indicating the [BROADCAST] has begun.

Aerial Neutral Attack: Clyde Orbit - TOM takes on a classic powering up pose as two Clydes make a quick orbit around his body in an X pattern, ramming into foes to do damage.

Grounded Side Attack: I Love This Job - A combo attack consisting of two punches and a forward Sparta/front kick for a three strike attack.

Aerial Side Attack: Palm Burst - A [CHARGEABLE] move where TOM brings his hands together while pulling them back, before thrusting his hands forward, with a burst of energy erupting from them. Calling it a TOMehameha would've been a bit too on the nose.

Grounded Up Attack: Hard Light Blast - A [CHARGEABLE] attack wherein SARA projects herself above TOM and releases a massive blast of light, damaging foes in a radius similar to Mewtwo's up smash.

Aerial Up Attack: Thruster Uppercut - TOM jets upward while performing a strong uppercut attack.

Grounded Down Attack: Laser Torch - TOM crouches down while holding a welding laser outward. It sparks, damaging the foe and giving them a stack of [IGNITED] and a good deal of hitstun.

Aerial Down Attack: sTOMp - A [CHARGEABLE] attack wherein TOM does a strong aerial stomp with both feet. This move [SPIKES].

Grounded Neutral Special: Blaster Fire/Spirit TOM - If the button is pressed, Tom fires his blaster gun repeatedly. Each successful hit gives one stack of [IGNITED] to foes, giving small damage over time. If TOM has maximum [RATINGS], and the button is held, he'll instead hold the gun up and cause a giant green energy sphere to charge above his head, before shooting it. The blast has [HOMING] properties and is his strongest finisher. However, you can only get one hit per stock.

Aerial Neutral Special: Blaster Fire - TOM fires the blaster in the air. Same as the grounded variant, but the Spirit TOM can only be done on the ground.

Grounded Side Special: Super Hydraulics - TOM flies forward in a spinning, thruster-powered shoulder charge. This move acts as a quick burst option and a horizontal recovery option.

Aerial Side Special: Super Hydraulics - Same as grounded variant.

Grounded Up Special: Jetpack Exhaust - TOM dons a jetpack and quickly jets himself in a wide circle on the ground, doing damage as a solid Get Off Me tool.

Aerial Up Special: Jetpack Flight - TOM is given brief free flight with his jetpack. He can fly in any direction he chooses.

Grounded Down Special: Explosive Charge - TOM drops a box of explosives on the ground in front of him. It explodes on its own after a brief delay. If a foe is caught in the explosion, they are popped directly upwards to allow for TOM to make an easy follow-up.

Aerial Down Special: Explosive Charge - Same as grounded variant, but if the explosive hits a foe on its way to the ground, it will instantly detonate.

Passive Abilities:

If TOM does high amounts of damage while a [BROADCAST] is active, he will gain [RATINGS], which are displayed on the HUD. The higher the [RATINGS], the stronger TOM's moves become and the faster they come out, allowing him to snowball. At maximum [RATINGS], he can perform a Spirit TOM.

With that out of the way...

Chance - 50%
T.O.M. is a character who gets requested at a decent pace. He's never among the most requested characters, but he has a solid fan base that lets me give him a very good chance score for a character who, as of now, has no leaks or datamines pointing toward him. The one thing that could be seen as a detriment is the fact that the Toonami block only airs in North America, to my knowledge, but the Multiversus team has also yet to say that this regional presence is a detriment like the Smash team has. Plus, at least here there's a home field advantage. And even then, it's not hard to get behind the concept of a chill, spacefaring robot who likes games and anime.

Want: 100%
T.O.M. is one of my most wanted characters of all, and out of ones that don't have anything pointing to them yet, he's third, only behind Wilt and Tracy Turnblad. He's quippy, sarcastic, and a bit of a cynic, but he's good at heart (and gets a ton of development in The Forge TIE special that I love). Plus he's a Cool Robot voiced by Steve Blum. The Absolution, his ship, could also make for an amazing stage with great DnB soundtrack potential. Out of my top three totally-missing most wanteds, he's probably the one with the best shot, so here's hoping.

"No matter what you're sex, race, or creed. You can be strong, you can be smart, you can be equal. Try to remember that when anyone tells you you're not capable of something, or you don't deserve something, or you don't belong somewhere. Everyone is capable of greatness, including you"-TOM 5

TOM

Theme Song: None

69%: TOM is the host of the anime and action cartoon block “Toonami” that aired on cartoon network then later adult swim, While he may not be the first host TOM is the face of toonami and has been for years throughout the blocks run, going through several changes, adventures, and talking & promoting shows, games, & others while partnered with his AI fairy SARA.

Tom would be a good choice to have as a playable character, given that almost every anime on toonami are under different ownerships and would likely require a lot of work to get, it’s possible they could use tom as a fill in for them by having him reference them in various movesets not only to represent the block but also acknowledge the anime shows too, it’s also possible they could only go for just a stage with tom sitting in his chair in the background while fighters are duking it out on the stage(though considering mojo they’ll put a random version of him just to use the current tom or an original variant of him).

I’m mostly looking at the different possibilities of what multiversus can do with Toonami but the fact of saying is the block including it’s robotic irreplaceable host do have strong enough relevancy and demand to get the push they need to get into multiversus in the future.

Alternate Song: None

60%: I may not have seen almost all of TOM’s adventures with the intruder or watched toonami back in the 2000’s but i have grown up during it’s time on adult swim and it’s still on right now(i’ve been watching various anime on there such as One Piece, Demon Slayer, Mob Psycho 100, Dr. Stone, Zom 100, Ninja Kamui, SAO, Assassination Classroom, etc.) and have known TOM during those times.

In terms of seeing him in Multiversus I’d like to see TOM get in as a fighter, seeing him possibly have attacks taken from anime that aired on toonami such as Goku’s Kamehameha, Naruto’s Reisengan, Moves from Spike Spiegel, or a Sword that he uses similar to Inuyasha to callback from those days of the early 2010's. I also like the idea of having his ship as a stage a lot more too, if possible they can have monitors screens in the background playing different anime shows while players fight each other to give them some nice entertainment to be busy with.

The Cecils
Abstain: I haven't had time to look at them though i feel like they'd be characters i'd like, but i think nothing will advocate in them getting in Multiversus due to their history and reception sadly.

I'm sorry for lagging on day changes recently. I've been preoccupied with a lot of things and with me going back to college, it's been harder to be motivated to stay on top of this thread. I'm gonna try to keep RTC going, but honestly I'm not sure how long I will be able to keep it up for. If anyone wants to volunteer to help me do calcs, that would be a huge help. But in the meantime, the pacing of the day changes will continue to be slow. With everything going on in my life at the moment, RTC just isn't much of a priority.

I really do appreciate everyone who is still here and staying loyal to the thread. It does warm my heart to see the dedication. But I have to be real: I'm burnt out on this game. I haven't even been playing MultiVersus myself, which doesn't help matters. So in the meantime, just please bear with me through this period of time. Don't worry, everything's going smoothly and fine in my personal life; it's just a matter of changing priorities.

I will catch up on calcs eventually, when I get the time and motivation. But I will definitely do it before the next schedule begins, at the latest. Now, it's time to move forward.....

TOM is plain iconic across a couple generations of kids. I can definitely see him being added as a nice, slightly left field pick, especially since he seems to have some demand from what I've seen. He still has a lot of competition from shows that have appeared on Toonami, but him being a network mascot gives him a good niche to fill.

Want: 70%

Toonami was the **** back then. I don't remember much from the commercials that TOM was in, but he does have a neat design and frankly this would be an awesome pick that would bring back memories for me, as it would for many others.

Cecils

Chance: 0.01%

Yeah, nah fam. These guys are way, WAY too obscure. Never mind TOM who is the clear frontrunner in the network's mascot department, the Cecils are only recognizable (just barely) in a select few countries and there is barely any information on them on the internet. Safe to say, their chances are poor. Heck, I would be surprised if they even get any kind of reference at all during this game's lifespan.

Want: 1%

No thanks. I certainly don't have any memories with these dudes, not to mention they are kinda generic. I would be fine if we just get TOM as the network's rep and that's it. I give zero ***** about these creatures and they are only getting a one percent from me because I only give out zeroes for characters I would actively despise (Which is extremely rare).

Mothra

Chance: 10%
It's tough to say because I think she would, at the very earliest, be the third Kaiju in line after Godzilla and Kong. And considering after they made the Iron Giant in beta, they said they really wanted a lot of time before making another huge character...it'll be a while. Maybe even too long. But it's not impossible.

Want: 100%
I love Mothra. She's my favorite out of the monsters. :^) Plus a giant moth could be really cool.

Abstaining on Lex for now. May add a rating later.

Mothra
Chance: 25%
Mothra's in a pretty unique spot, I think. The main roadblock in her way is going to be Toho - a point mentioned during the Godzilla ratings was that WB only own the license to use the character, and while there are a lot of Godzilla projects created by WB (with Mothra being in a couple of them), there'd still need to be that dialogue in order to make it possible.

That said, presuming Toho are fine with it, there are still a couple of issues - such as the idea that even the role of a giant character akin to Iron Giant wouldn't be enough to capture the scale of kaiju, or that she'd be difficult to develop due to her atypical moveset, design, and scale. (A thought that immediately springs to mind is that her wings would cause all kinds of hitbox issues, so they'd probably need to be scaled down.)

All that being said... there's something here. The Toho issue likely isn't anywhere near as difficult as we might think - Toho have opened up the Godzilla license to quite a few places, and we've seen Mothra specifically here and there such as in the form of a Fall Guys skin, so it's not as though they're not open to the characters getting used in more cartoonish projects. Plus, Mothra does absolutely lend to moveset potential, would fulfil a very unique niche amongst the roster in terms of design, and is an undeniably iconic part of the Godzilla mythos, the Toho lineup, and indeed tokusatsu/kaiju history as a whole. Mothra's also a character that I've seen brought up online more than I might have expected, and PFG do apparently take the internet into account when choosing certain picks.

Of course, there's a kaiju in the room - Godzilla (as of writing) isn't in the game yet, and respectfully, I cannot see a scenario where Mothra is included first (unless by some technicality of her appearing in a trailer first akin to the Sheik/Zelda situation.) For as iconic and cool as Mothra is, Godzilla's just... kind of got to be there first. That being said, I feel like Mothra's chances would increase by a pretty decent margin if Godzilla got in.

Want: 90%
I will freely admit that I wasn't sold on Mothra's inclusion at first, but... she's really grown on me over time, and seeing some people's concepts for how she'd play has genuinely really sold me on her inclusion. I'm one of the weirdos who actually thinks giant characters in fighting games are a lot of fun, even if they're hell to balance (Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, my beloved) and Mothra specifically springs to mind as a character who'd really kind of push the limits of the game's mechanics, both in terms of moveset and in terms of design. At the same time? I'd love to see where you could take that. She'd really lend to a lot of creative concepts, and she's also genuinely just really cool.

I may also be slightly biased in that I really like moths.

Lex Luthor
Chance: 85%.
I genuinely think Lex's chances almost entirely depend on how long MultiVersus continues to get new content, because in some ways, he's a character that becomes almost inevitable at a certain point. The main thing standing in his way is that there's been some datamined suggestions that other DC characters will arrive before he would, and there's a lot of requests and the like for other picks - like Aquaman, Static, Raven, so on and so forth.

But also... it's Lex Luthor. The headlining villain of Superman. Literally the primary antagonsit of the archetypical superhero. And I can't deny that there's potential in terms of creating a moveset for him, or finding a cool design that you could explore - while he's not a superpowered behemoth like some of his competition, there's plenty of suits and weapons from his past that would still make for plenty of fun to include. It's also worth noting that Superman's heading up a rebooted DC cinematic universe next year, so he'd absolutely make for a logical promotional pick - which would make him the second villainous DC pick to fill that role, but... let's not think into that too much.

As I say, the issue that springs to mind is that MultiVersus might peter out in a matter of months, or it could last the better part of a decade. If the game's got a reasonably short lifespan, I don't really see PFG frontloading it with DC content all too much. But, if it's got a longer lifespan, I can totally see them going with characters like Lex to flesh out other parts of the DC universe beyond just the Batman side of things.

Want: 70%.
Sure, Lex is pretty neat. But... it's almost like he and Darkseid are like, the only Superman villains sometimes, and as much as it totally makes sense to include him given his iconic status, number of appearances, and extensive pedigree, there's still a lot of cool and iconic Superman villains you could go for - my personal pick on that front would be Livewire, but characters like Parasite or Amazo could be fun too.

That said, on his own, he could still be decently cool - I imagine he'd probably be in his Kryptonite exosuit or something of the sort, so having a moveset based around using that and Kryptonite beams with poisoning effects could be a lot of fun. (Come to think of it, seems as we're probably not going to get Metallo, it could be neat to have his moveset focus on the various different types of Kryptonite. Except the pink stuff. :troll:)

Jokes aside, he'd be neat. It's like when you order a chippy tea and you get a slice of buttered bread to put some of your chips on. A nice little bonus, not necessary by any means, but quite pleasant and logical to have there.

I'm once again putting my noms toward the concept of Doom Patrol content. Feels like an interesting thing to explore some time.

Mothra

Chance; 42%

Mothra is an interesting choice, and that could be good a 2nd or 3rd (the 3rd option is probably Kong) Monsterverse rep,i don't know about Godzilla lore, but it's fine on her popularity

Want: 50%

since this topic is talking about a character from an american adaptation from a japanese franchise,i think that is a okay pick

Lex Luthor

Chance: 58%

Lex Luthor could have some good chance for being a playable character, his popularity could be deatable, but i think that some current appearences on DC on media, he don't have relevance, but Luthor is a greatest villain

Want: 95%

for me it's obvious,as Batman have Joker,Superman also can have his own arch-enemy,Luthor is The most important Superman villain,he's not my biggest wanted pick, but i think that Luthor is very important for he joins the Multiversus roster

I need more time to look into Mothra before rating her.

-TBA
Lex Luthor
Theme Song: TBA
75%: Lex Luthor, one of DC’s most well known villain from Superman’s Rouge Gallery, he’s been around in the comics for years ever since his first appearance a decade ago becoming one of Clark’s infamously vile enemies, he’s appeared in the original christopher reeves superman from the first four films(WROOOOOONNNNGGGG) from the first two and fourth films to superman returns, was in Batman V Superman for the DCEU, was iconic in the Justice League Cartoon from the DCAU, appears in animated movies & shows such as All-Star Superman, Batman/Superman: Public Enemies, My Adventures with Superman, Super Friends, etc, Games such as Injustice, and Live-Action series’ such as Smallville, Supergirl, and Superman & Lois.
He’s also set to appear in the upcoming Superman movie directed by James Gunn and will be playing as one of the villains in the film, presumably the main one.

I feel like Lex’s chances may boil down to whether Warner Brothers wants to promote him for the new superman movie or not in case there’s another character they want to use such as Lois, Kara, or Ultraman. But Lex is Superman's enemy and one of the most popular characters of DC so it would be fitting to add him. However if he isn’t added for the movie it’s possible they’ll add him in later down the road although that’s whether or not the game will be around by them OR if he’s prioritized more over some DC characters.

Alternate Song: TBA
60%: I like lex from the DC animated universe, he’s a good serious villain and clancy brown’s performance is amazing to hear. I tend to associate him with villains like lex since he does a great job playing them.

As for him in Multiversus, eh i'm not against it but i don’t want to see him get in and overbloat the roster with too much DC characters i'd pretend that he's a superman rep though that's not the reality of it. personally, i’d rather see heroes like flash and green lantern get in, others like blue beetle would be a great bonus.

Chance: 10%

Not much has changed for Mothra since the last rating but I am gonna drop her score from 18% to 10% simply because again, I'm skeptical of third parties right now and especially since I'm not sure how much priority Mothra would get. Sure, she is a very popular Kaiju and is at the forefront right now with her being in the Monster verse. But as of now Godzilla and Kong have more demand and plus there's competition from the likes of Rodan and Ghidorah and I'm not sure how many Toho monsters we'll get in this game. If the game survives for long enough and if the Monster verse can keep its relevancy for a while, I could see Mothra happen.

Want: 100%

She's a frickin' great Kaiju. Check out my last rating of her for my full thoughts but I love Mothra as a character and what she represents. She would be a great addition to the roster.

Lex Luthor

Chance: 75%

Luthor feels like one of those "inevitable as long as the game doesn't crash and burn" characters. He is everywhere from the comics to the shows and movies, he feels almost essential and with him being pretty much always relevant, Lex is a safe bet.

Want: 60%

Sure, I'll take him. He is a very good villain and I feel like his war suit would be very fun. Plus he would have some great interactions with the cast.

Don Lockwood

Chance: 10%

As always, when dealing with a character that isn't a popular request that ALSO isn't currently in the files...I can't put too high a chance score. That being said...

Don Lockwood is the main protagonist of Singin' in the Rain, otherwise known as one of the most iconic and influential films of all time. It's hard to put into words just how big of an impact this film left on the world: its immediate recognizability in the realm of movie musicals is matched only by fellow MGM-made Turner-owned movie musical classic, The Wizard of Oz, and now-speculated stage addition Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Its pedigree genuinely needs little introduction, if any at all, as it's one of the most referenced films of all time.

The film also absolutely fits in with Warner Bros's historical Hollywood aesthetic they tend to go for, like their Hollywood lot and water tower iconography, which does help a bit, I feel. For those who don't know, Singin' in the Rain is a story about a group of actors from the silent film era dealing with the repercussions of the introduction of sound films following the runaway success of The Jazz Singer. It's a film about films, essentially, and in that sense the meta aspect is abundantly clear.

Some may guffaw at the option being presented here. Don is an actor, not a fighter. What would he even do? And to that I ask you to not be so dismissive. The film has several incredibly well known musical numbers and iconography to pull from, from the eponymous title song, to Good Morning, to Moses Supposes. But most importantly, Don's moveset would mostly be composed of tap dancing and umbrella and splashing attacks. If you wanted to get a bit silly with it, the playbill for the recent Broadway run of Singin' in the Rain, when taken out of context, even looks like Don is performing a dive kick. There's a down air if I've ever seen one. You could even expand on Gizmo's aerial side special Umbrella Float mechanic in a meaningful way for Don, expanding it to be more rushdown based. There are a lot of avenues that can be gone down for a moveset.

I've attached my own moveset for Don Lockwood below. Check it out!

Description: Don Lockwood is a Bruiser character who acts as a combo-heavy all-arounder. While his individual hits aren't the most powerful, he can link moves together with ease, with many a burst option available to get in close.

Dash Attack: Doo Doot-Doo Doo - Don, after running, slides to a halt, which kicks up a wave of rain water that crests into the foe for damage. This move gains power if the stage is [SATURATED].

Grounded Neutral Attack: Duelling Gladiators - Don does a series of three high stepping puddle stomps while advancing. With each downward slam, a crest of rainwater shoots upward, hitting the foe. These become more powerful the more [SATURATED] the ground is.

Aerial Neutral Attack: I've a Smile on My Face - A two strike attack where Don first takes off his hat and throws his hat-holding hand outward to the side, and then throwing his umbrella-holding hand to the other side. A very strong attack and a potent get off me tool.

Grounded Side Attack: With a Happy Refrain - Don does a leisurely jaunt forward while swinging his closed umbrella in a circle ahead of him as he goes. This is a multihit move that combos into itself.

Aerial Side Attack: Down the Lane - Don swings his closed umbrella in an upward arc. If the move is pressed a second time, a second hit happens where he opens the umbrella. Opening the umbrella makes Don enter [UMBRELLA MODE].

Grounded Up Attack: Dark Up Above - Don opens his umbrella, holds it up, and spins it above his head. This is a multihit attack, and makes the ground more [SATURATED].

Aerial Up Attack: The Sun's in My Heart - Don swipes his closed umbrella above him in an arc. If pressed twice, he swings it back again the other way, and opens it, activating [UMBRELLA MODE].

Grounded Down Attack: Make a Splash - Don kicks out his leg and splashes a puddle of water upward. The puddle grows bigger and more powerful the more [SATURATED] the ground is.

Aerial Down Attack: Dive Kick - Don Lockwood performs his iconic dive kick. Much like Simon's dive kick in Smash, Don bounces back up on a successful hit. However, when he reaches the apex of his bounceback, he automatically enters [UMBRELLA MODE]. This also makes the ground below him [SATURATED].

Grounded Neutral Special: Moses Supposes - A multihit move wherein Don tap dances, advancing forward with the first two hits. On the third hit, the player has a choice as far as what to do next. If they hold forward or neutral, Don finishes with a series of trenches, with each chop doing damage as a multihit. If up is held, Don soars forward with a leaping high kick, which does extra damage at the tip of his toe, but has trouble hitting smaller foes. If down is held, Don does a spin with his arms outstretched and going in a clockwise motion, which is the most reliable kill move of the three, but doesn't do much damage. These moves, as they involve tapping, do more damage if the ground is [SATURATED].

Aerial Neutral Special: His Toeses Aren't Roses - Don stomps downward and rockets down toward the stage, splashing a puddle of water outward on impact. This does more damage the more [SATURATED] the ground is.

Grounded Side Special: Let the Stormy Clouds Chase - Don opens his umbrella, holds it out, and spins around as he advances forward. This essentially acts as a multihitting Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, while making the ground more [SATURATED].

Aerial Side Special: Everyone from the Place - Same as grounded variant, but Don enters [UMBRELLA MODE] after use.

Grounded Up Special: I'm Happy Again - A [LIGHT POST] appears, and Don uses it to swing upward into the air. Don's trajectory can be altered during ascent to encourage chasing down a foe. Allies in range of the [LIGHT POST] become [ILLUMINATED].

Aerial Up Special: I'm Laughin' at Clouds - A gale lifts Don up as he holds his closed umbrella upwards, before opening it. This is a rising combo attack with a strong finisher when opening the umbrella, making it Don's Shoryuken equivalent. After the umbrella opens, Don enters [UMBRELLA MODE].

Grounded Down Special: Good Mornin' - Don takes his bright yellow slicker and whips it outward like a matador's cape. This does damage up close, but it also launches a blast of water forward that explodes onto whoever it hits, doing damage as a [PROJECTILE]. This move is bigger and more powerful the more [SATURATED] the stage is.

Aerial Down Special: To You and You and You - The same as the grounded variant.

Passive Abilities:

Some of Don's moves involve an open umbrella, which put him into [UMBRELLA MODE]. This mode makes him gently float using his umbrella, similar to Peach in Smash Bros. However, it also gives small damage over time to anyone caught underneath the umbrella's sides, as rain will continually pour down. If the rain hits the stage, it gets more [SATURATED].

The stage becomes more [SATURATED] (displayed as an HUD bar by Don), many of Don's moves get stronger, mostly those that involve footwork. Using [UMBRELLA MODE] and Don's side special can help build saturation.

Don can place a [LIGHT POST] on the stage to [ILLUMINATE] allies in range. Allies in range of the post can see better, giving a slight homing effect to their [PROJECTILES] when used near the post.

There is, admittedly, one other potential issue for Don Lockwood, and that's potential likeness issues due to him being played by the late legendary actor Gene Kelly. However, this isn't necessarily insurmountable, but just something to keep in mind. Worst case scenario, they could tweak things just enough to get past these issues, like what was seemingly done for Agent Smith (if one were to look, he looks decently different from, well, how Hugo Weaving actually looks). But hey, they got LeBron's likeness, so I wouldn't count out the chances of them getting Gene Kelly's.

Want: 100%

Out of characters that aren't currently leaked or datamined to hell and back, good old Don Lockwood is in my Top 5 most wanted characters. He would be such a fun addition while paying homage to one of the objectively most important movies of all time.

I've also made my fondness for characters from movie musicals more than clear at this point. The Wicked Witch of the West is my most hyped up datamined character, and my other most wanted characters include the likes of Tracy Turnblad, Audrey II, the Tin Man, and Willy Wonka. I see merit in additions like Eliza Doolittle and Professor Harold Hill. We could get all four of the main Oz cast in addition to the Witch and I'd feel like it would be fully justified. And yes, Don Lockwood is right up there with them, as perhaps one of the biggest standouts. I've said it before, but as far as the WB library is concerned, it's just as important to represent movie musicals as it is to represent animation. They make up a SIGNIFICANT chunk of the WB library, particularly from the MGM acquired side through Turner Broadcasting (of which Tom and Jerry and the datamined Wicked Witch are currently the ONLY representatives).

The team working on Multiversus has the chance to include characters from some of the most influential films of all time. I truly hope they don't squander the opportunity.

I don't really have a rating, more so just here to say how I think the Jetsons has minimal chance in general to get in here. It's always held this stigma as sort of the "lesser clone of the Flintstones" which imo is completely warranted. Even as a kid I never liked The Jetsons. It was so boring in comparison to its Hanna Barbera contemporaries. It didn't have the interpersonal character connections of the Flintstones or the slapstick action of Scooby Doo. The

Ah, what the hell, I'll give a score of my own.

Chance for George: 5% - He's owned by WB, so he's more likely than other options. But I can't think of any reason they'd choose him over more beloved options both from WB as a whole and even his own show - namely...

Want for George: 0% - Rosie is the only character on the show who should even be considered for the Jetsons, as she's got actual moveset potential. What the **** does less flavor than water George even have? His job is literally pushing a single button. It doesn't exactly scream interesting moveset potential. Also, he's just boring as sin as a character, not that his family's any better. At least Rosie has some interesting character to her, even though I'm not exactly high on her as a potential character either. And nothing from the show should get in until after Fred Flintstone gets in.

I think about the Flintstones vs. the Jetsons is that the former is timeless humor, you can always make jokes about dinosaur furniture and stuff funny, hell, their future character, the Great Gazoo, is infinitely more interesting than the "world of tomorrow" that even people back in the day couldn't have actually believed was possible... right?

In conclusion, screw the Jetsons, love the Flintstones, if you want a futuristic character Great Gazoo and Duck Dodgers are right there. Get them in then maybe Rosie can join around like, character 75 or so.

Wanted to write about Lex, but I've been busy and don't really play the game much anymore, but eh what the hell.

Chance - 18%
The Jetsons is probably one of the more iconic Hanna Barbera cartoons with the general population, at least in my experience. I feel it's one of the most known ips in their library, after Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear and Flintstones (and maybe Top Cat and Wacky Races depending on who you ask). It certainly has the iconic factor, but honestly I don't know if I see it really happening anytime soon for a few reasons.

As Capybara Gaming said, Jetsons sort of competes with Flintstones, with them both being animated family sitcoms set in non traditional time periods. I think Fred is much more likey to fill this particular nechie. George is, from my memory, kind of just a guy. It seems like a lot of what he could do has been taken up already by Rick and Morty. It's not impossible they could make him work, and there's probably some gadgets or fun things that they could make use of that I am simply not aware of. There also doesn't seem to be any Jetsons projects currently in development, which is a big driving factor behind what characters get in this game.

Jetsons also has a character who may be better suited for a fighting game. Rosie the Robot is a pretty iconic part of the show and would lead to a pretty neat moveset. A robot maid sounds like something the team could really go crazy with. Jetsons would also be really fitting for a stage only franchise, considering the setting is one of the more remembered parts of the show.

Not gonna write off George completely, as Jetsons feels pretty iconic, but I don't feel strongly about him one way or another. He's not getting in before Fred Flintstone, and Fred himself doesn't have many leaks pointing to him right now, so it'll be a ways off if he does get in.

Want - 15%
I never had much attachment to the Jetsons growing up, preferring other HB shows. So I don't really have a ton of interest in seeing him in, it's not a dislike of anything, just not a character in attached to, and there are so many HB picks I would want first. I kind of struggle to see what he could do for a moveset that ain't already covered by other characters, though I that's mainly down to me but really knowing the show . I do think I'd prefer Rosie if we got someone from this series at any point. I do think a Jetsons stage could be pretty neat too. Not giving him too low a rating since you could probably do some neat interactions.

Abstaining on both
knowing how much time has passed here, i didn't had time to think about these two, Don Lockwood? i don't know enough about Singin' in the Rain other than....well the references its had and George Jetson? i don't really have any good thoughts on how i feel about his chances though i can agree that Rosie might be the more better Jetson rep for the game.
