you have many bad habits, but a few good ones as well...
Bad:
stop charging forward smashes
stop spamming down air
stop fast falling your forward airs
grab more
back air more
follow your opponent off the stage and hit him more
dont be afraid to use down and side b when the opponent is just outside of tilt range

Good:
you obviously have knowledge of your opponent
when you actully use your tilts you use them well
you have your spring timing on point when it comes to getting out of combos and chaingrabs

off point:
why do sonic players always seem to be near falco players
and if your game was as good as your music selection, youd be as good as me

Hmm ur oka like KID said stop dairing so much. Also quick realse ur smashes plox...lol IMO not to be mean but for that smash clash yall had that was stupid...lol. Nice use of tilts. learn when to not fast fall. When u ff it makes ur fairs not auto-cancel. Also alot of people do this but dont run into ****. Alotta times when u recovered instead of getting away u went in for an attack. I kno it flippin sweet sonic can attack after up-b but u need to regain ur ground for ur jumps. Another thing feel ur combos u gotta figure the end result as soon as it begins. That missed uair to spring combos could have been punished... But mostly ur a straight Sonic work on what KID said and ur timeing and not rolling in to **** and u'll be ok. Hope u have fun dont give up.

I can't say either of you are great players but thats why you posted this thread: Improvement.

There was certainly not enough gimping involved in the match. Its hard with Sonic but there was definitely timesin that match when you could of at least chased the opponent over the edge to rack up more damage.
I guess one of the biggest problems I saw (and it would be reflected in the match statistics) is probably your hit perentage. There were countless instances where you attack probably without too much thought on where they attack will leave you and where it will put Falco.
Other stuff I noticed:
-next to no spin shotting (no required for a good sonic but a very helpful approach)
-not a great tech chasing game (don't b scared to go over that edge, you have a massive spring to launch you back, even if its not over the edge)
-grabbing was lacking. you need to grab more, but having said that, in this match you grabbed heaps, you just didnt grab falco. so being more selective and accurate with your grabbing
-patience ("A patient Sonic is a frustrating Sonic" feel free to quote me) lol. They won't want to attack you, and here your tilts (ftilt especially) come in handy for free damage.
-bair - this was said by someone else tho. if they are under the stage level, run off to bair, takes good timing but is awesome.
-downsmash more (but not too much) - there was times in that match where he was in range but cudnt get you (unless it was with a laser i guess). will clear him off and restrict his game if he knows you can get him close range.

Good Stuff
-taunting :)
-didn't spam spon dash too much, for which i respect you, although it was flirting with the edge of spamming
-shook up approaches
-smash killed (altho you do spam that smash too much, leave it till u get high damage from other attacks and surprise with that smash)
-know sonic movesets.. mostly. check out the sonic no obvious sticky thing to tighten up your game some more.

That is all.

I appreciate the input from you guys, this is only my second day trying to main this blue demon. Haha, it's wierd for me cause I'm transferring from being a ZSS/Peach player. I rather use someone that not everyone and their mom plays, and actually requires some kinda skill to be efficient and kill with. So I was kind of use to just rushing in and racking up dmg. But I understand what you guys are saying, from watching the match and everything I could have easily ran off and knocked him back further and still recovered. I'll have new vids up and you'll see an improvement.

Thanks for the input.

Btw Green or KID, you have any vids?

Once i get a gamebridge i will. But not atm. Ummm.. Yeah i appreciate you being Sonic, his difficulty to master is mostly what motivates Sonic mainers. That and victory.

Anymore advice? I just got done breaking my habit of f smashing so much. And not only that but I don't dair as much either.

The one thing I really have a problem with against people is racking up dmg. So I'm starting to do more of a hit and run.

I would briefly like to point out that dairing is a great move but has too much lag. I am not sure if you are aware of the glitch which takes away the lag off dair? I use it a fair bit in my battles it lets me quickly roll off while they miss a smash and i smash or tild them. You just short hop to spring then use your dair, and there wont be any landing lag.
That is all.

Ah, that helps out alot.. I think Sonic is highly underestimated. I feel bad that alot of people laugh at Sonic mainers. I'm planning on playing him in an up coming tourney too, so I'm just going to keep playing some local people and practice.

edit:: I just got the hang of doing that, I'm going to add that in my game too. But I'm only really going to dair when I do that instead of just doing it out of spite.

It's not a glitch. All aerials have reduced/no landing lag if they finish. Basically if you're at high enough of a height, your D-air will autocancel on landing. You can do it from a grounded spring- just don't do D-air right away and wait til a little bit before max height. However, don't use it as an actual approach too often since it's punishable if they can read your landings.

Sonic as a character is underestimated, but people that I play with either are amazed because they've never seen the techniques/mindgames/etc or get pissed off because they can't win. I've never received spite for playing Sonic or Falcon. Well, maybe for Sonic, cause people with experience tend to hate playing against Sonic mains lol.

ohya, if you haven't already, watch Sonic Orochi's video guide. It's basically an abridged version of all our guides, and more but as a video, so it's awesome for newcomers.

Yeah, you're right Tenk. I meant it more as a non-obvious technique. My bad, had to leave in a hurry.

-It is fine to use it without doing this, especially if they are in the air and you are just gonna hit them and zoom right past. In this instance you need not worry about lag. But that's common sense.
That is all.
