Hey guys. Been playing brawl since it came out, and recently won a local tourney! I know my snake has a lot of leaks, and I wasn't playing my best in this match, but my friend and I were wondering if you could give us any tips on our play.

It would be greatly appreciated as we have another tournament coming up soon.

Thanks a lot guys.

Excuse my friends comment at the end. I'm snake and hes falco btw.

Way to much predictable rolling, especially against Falco. You didn't DI his chaingrab properly and got CG'd at percents he... can't CG you. You approached at times you didn't need to - and ate a lot of lasers because of it.

You tried to blow up your C4 at questionable times.... often needlessly. You used DACUS to approach, and got punished nearly everytime. You never went for the grab. The Falco was horribly predictable with his recovery, and you didn't punish once.

Falco needs to keep his eye on your C4/Mines. <_<

How do I DI correctly against the CG? I can normally get out at 40%+ so I don't know what I was doing. This was just a friendly match also btw, none of us were really player our greated.

Also, when he laser spams, should I just duck and make him approach me? Or just get in a little closer to him or something?

I am trying to work more c4s into my game, so I am really spamming them to see how to use them correctly right now, but thanks :)

Also, I did realize I didn't grab him enough (at all?) this match, ugh, i've been trying to do that more too! Should sheild grabbing be my primary way of grabbing him?

And yeah, normally I will punish his recovery better, for some reason my spacing sucks on yoshis island :(

Thanks for your help - will you help me if I post a few more vids in the future? :D

You seemed to drop grenades in random places, often right on top of your C4, which really wouldn't help because the opponent would be avoiding that particular area anyway.

Work on your grenade strategy a bit. Def you are an above average snake player but if you can improve a few things like grenades and it would be kool to see how well you Nikita guard. some good predictions and some bad ones.

Thanks guys. This was just a random match at the start of the day, and I really wasn't playing very well. I will try and get a video where I am playing a little better. Does anyone have any tips on a good grenade game against falco? The laser + shine really messes up my placement. I swear my grenade/spacing is fine against my friends who play marth and metaknight (and they are all around equal skill).

Anyway, I am going to continue practicing my c4 game, and hopefully get it much nicer :)

I'll post vids of me vs metaknight and marth in the near future and I would really love some help, as I mentioned, a local tourney is coming up and I have to show everyone that Snake is the best :)

Thanks again. More help is appreciated.

Try practicing cooking your grenades, if Falco shines it blows up in his face.

For spacing i like to crawl then f-tilt, normally they would expect a d-tilt so they get tricked by the range.

You and your friend both are roll dodging WAYY too much. Try to punish your friends when they do that instead of just rolling behind them and then they roll behind you etc etc.

Also try to cook the grenades like they said, I know it can be kind of hard at times due to the lasers but try to crawl under the lasers and force him to approach and most of the time a Falco will try to Hyphen Usmash or phantasm or DACUS etc. so shiel that and punish phantasm with ftilt and shield grab the others.

SuSa and everyone else already summed up alot of the other stuff, so just work on that and keep getting better man.

Thanks for the harsh but good comments :)

Can you explain wave bouncing, or point me in the right direction?

I've also been ABUSING grab against my buddies, and it is working really great.

Also, I shouldn't be very offensive with c4 then?

Oh, and if you could explain what a grenade pluck is, and when a more appropriate time to do it would be, that would be awesome.

Thanks.

New vids, I tried a bunch of new techniques and it seemed to turn out well. If anyone could take a look at this vid it would be great. It is against my friends marth, and he is pretty good, but got pretty ***** by boost grabs.

Note: I was playing against falco all day in the first vid, so I wasn't using many nades. It seemed to be working fine though!

In the second video I used a lot more nades.

Tell me what you think.

Also, can anyone point me to where I can find out how to wave bounce with snake?

I should slap you for that. Offensive C4 is 1/2 my camping game.

EDIT: You did better this time around. I suggest getting into the habit of shield after you dthrow unless you are fairly certain that they aren't going to use a getup attack.

You need to learn how to DI... you could've lived when you died, but you chose to airdodge rather then FF bair.

You still need to work on using your grenades properly, and stop rolling behind your opponent so much.

Wavebouncing != B-reversing, but everyone seems to think so.

How to:
Use any B special, then quickly tap the other direction from your momentum.

EG:
Jump + hold left, use your Nikita (side-B) going left but QUICKLY mash your analog stick to the right. Congrats, you just B-reversed.
