I have more complaints about the marth's game then yours.

Things you did good.

Your wavedash game is pretty good. Jab wave dashes, ftilts and upairs were used out of WD well.
FTILT use was good.
Techs were good.

Things you could improve upon.

GRABS. You rarely grab. The Marth was living to high percents because you were only really hitting him with ftilts. Grab -> down throw -> fair -> gg.

Down B. Be careful with this move. He didn't punish you, but if marth blocks it he gets a free grab which brings me to my next point....

When Marth grabs you near a ledge DI AWAY FROM THE STAGE. Again he didn't punish you but if you DI into the stage you are in perfect tipper range.

You like to move around a lot. Which is good, but mix up some platform wavelands in there. Limiting yourself to forward and backwards wavedashing is predictable.

Platform wavelands are like fast falled (fast fell?) aerials that start at the tip of the jump.

I'd like to see how you play against a different character. Falcon or a spacie. Maybe a shiek?

Thanks for the tips.

Shonic(the marth in the video) has NO technical skill.... I'm embarrassed to say he beats me... But he does... >.<

I'm gonna throw out the big excuse.... He's Marth... D:

I'll be uploading a set vs falcon later tonight.

Hopefully I'll have a better set of match videos next week... I don't know, we'll see.

Again, thank you for the tips. :S

Yea, I tend to not use wavelands on platforms when I'm in a heated battle....

Shonic is just so ****... I don't know. He's a *******. He's got a minimal amount of tech skill and I still manage to lose to him almost EVERY week. It's disheartening. Everyone still wonders why the hell I lose to him. Basically, up until this past monday, all he ever did was FSMASH. That's all. He's changed his game up a bit and he's using more FAIRs and NAIRs. That kinda threw me off.

EDIT: Sorry for double post. D:

Yeeeeaaaa. I'm still working on my down-b recoveries. About a week and a half ago all I could do is stall... Now every once and a while I get the height that helps me just enough to recover.

I'm no Jekyll.... >.>

Also, mass amounts of new videos from me and Reneblade on his youtube account. Here's the link.

Unlike Mario's or Doctor's Down-B, Luigi's Tornados creates no horizontal momentum on it's own, mean if you're falling straight down, you will hover in the same spot. So it's best to double jump and continue that forward momentum with your down-b.

Usually whenever I use the tornado it's straight out of a missile so even though I'm dropping it's only a small amount. Even so, thank you for the advice. I'll try it out and see if I can get more height off my down-b.

A couple new Luigi vids up. I'm playing much MUCH better than I was last week. I'm pretty sure it's cause I read and took what Pakman said into consideration... Also because I've been in a slump for the past week. -_-

It's a full set of 5. All friendlies. First two matches I use Luigi, last 3 I use fox. I'll post the full set here once it's all uploaded.

Match 1. Reneblade(Falcon) vs Wiggins(Luigi) 1/5

For your down B recovery you stop hitting B way too early. Keep mashing for like 10-20 frames (1/3 of a second) longer then you are. There is still height to be gained.

Also, your combo game is OK, but I'd like to see some jab resets against that falcon. You had a few opportunities on the platform on pokemon.

You also dodge at weird times (I do the same thing) I would just be aware of it, because certain players WILL punish you for dodging.

Lastly that falcon was shielding a lot and you had several opportunities to grab, but attacked his shield. Its tough but the more you play the more you get a feel for when to grab.

Keep it up.

Notes taken:

Tap B more

Jab reset renebad

Don't dodge in weird times as much(lol)

Don't be bad at grabbing at good opportunities.

K. Thank you sir.

That other set I mentioned will be uploaded a little later on tonight.

Soooo.... I know I'm only about.... 16 days late with these links. But if you still wanna give me some pointers it'd be greatly appreciated. Also, if this thread is technically considered "dead" I'm really sorry for reviving it. =[

I'm still not good enough at Luigi to be giving criticizm, but I think you could have done more WD ftilts. You did a lot of WD grabs but missed and the Falco capitalized on that. Grabbing Falco is pretty risky, whereas ftilting Falco is not because of the range at which you can hit him and the high priority.

I only watched like 1 game.
I'm no pro but this is what i noticed.

1)You don't seem to be grabbing at all
2)You don't punish the marth enough when he misses his smashes try to wavedash in and dgrab plus dair or fair.
3) Work on comboing and more wavedashing on the platforms would be great for mindgames.
4) If he starts spamming side smash wavedash in with your shield take the hit then punish.
5) SHIELD GRAB. Of course this can be harder then it is with other characters because Lugi is so light.
Your looking pretty good so far!

I am not a pro smasher, but I main luigi and I can give you a few tips of advice on what you should do to improve.

1. You've probably heard this a billion times, but GRAB MORE! You have wavedashing down beautifully. Wavedashing grabs will improve your game a lot.
2. Practice your edge guarding. I noticed in your videos there were so many times you could've killed your opponent if you had edge guarded properly. Don't get me wrong, some of your edge guards were amazing. Especially that barrel hog, lol I wouldn't of thought of that on the spot. But just practice them. Wavedash to a ledge and drop and use a b-air or d-air and jump back to ledge.
3. This has to do with 2. Learn to spike with luigi. If you hit an enemy recovering with a d-air at just at the right angle you can spike them with it. PRACTICE IT! And if you don't already know, you could learn to taunt spike with Luigi. If you don't already know how to do it, look up some videos.
4. Try wavedashing d-smashes. In fact, just use more smashes in general.
5. And as said by other SHIELD GRAB!

Hope this helps! Your a very talented player so far.

Woot. I'm late to my own pants party.... Party... The party with the pants...

I've been kind of busy lately. And I completely forgot about this thread as I was getting hype for SMYM10.(Which I won two sets in pools. Woot, noob happiness) Anyways. Thanks for all the advice everybody. I will keep posting links as they come about.

If I don't post links it's because I'm lazy. Most of my matches are uploaded to reneblades account which is located here -----> www.youtube.com/user/reneblade

But yea, again. Thanks for the advice. I'm still playin and practicin.

(Sorry if thread is considered old..) D:

-you need to grab way more with luigi
-you need to use / mix up his aerials way more (and of course, space them properly... and where is the nair??)

The mindgames with the wavedash were good man but somewhat excessive. That's only one arrow from luigi's quiver.. Work on your mind games with aerial spacing, luigi's can own high tier characters like that. Need to upsmash more!!!!!! It's a better follow up than the dsmash on many occasions. Also, nice usage of the ftilt.. mix it up with some utilts, dtilts, and jabs though for some quick small combos..
