Only Raptor Boost recover if it will put you above the person, since head-on it will lose to aerials.

You totally could've won that. >< Try not to recover with the Raptor Boost consistently, you'll get ***** by practically any spike + edgehog. Try to use his AAA more, grabs, and U-Tilt. Even a WaveDash'd D-Smash if you can manage to pull that off. You might even double kick him for a quick 32%.
