If only the Metaknight knew that he could glide... all those times you went out you should have gotten gimped.

Other than that the meta just doesn't know how to punish your double f-air approach so no harm in doing it.... but again the Meta isn't very good so we can't really see how you're Marth is because tactics that normally shouldn't work are working.

he's known for spamming with MK, and he succeeds with it because he's on wifi. and I think bardull uses snake on wifi, could be wrong though.

The one with meta was alright. what really got my attention was the one's against samus. Your friend was alright at least he wasn't bad, so the matches were really fun to watch and your read JU-JU quiet well when it came to him using his throws.

Altogether your matches were wonderful just work on ur spacing a lil. I was looking for a vid to watch for awhile know luckly enuogh i found one.

U have potential. on a side note u didn't really use his nair

Against Meta you were countering at the wrong times and getting punished. Airdodge in stead of Counter in the air. You do have potential though, I'll give you that, and please use proper grammar, this isn't AIM.

yes me and ju-ju play quite often and know each other inside and out. And ive been trying to use nair more so i get likee a tipper kill move since when i fight snakes fsmash never really kills him for me.

sorry for me using "aim" language. i just use aim alot and this is really probably one of my first posts on swf. And the reason i counter at the wrong time is because for some reason i hate counter, because i do usually use it at the wrong time so i try to stay away from it.

^Oh, I see, but why do you hate counter, it can be very effective in certain situations like when you know the opponent is going to use a ledge attack while hinging. It will make you better if you learn to use it effectively.

In the first match, you could have used Side B to air stall and avoid getting edgehogged on the second stock

Why does this happen?
I argued that counter is a very decent move.
Others said otherwise, and my friend won't shut up about it.
Now people are saying it's GOOD?

Anyway...
Good game.
I didn't have time to watch the other two, but your Marth is looking okay.
Needs more prediction.
When you and your opponent roll twice, fsmash the way you know they're going to roll.
I've caught my friend a few times with this method.
You seem a little too spaced out.
Against Samus, this is not good.
It gives her/him more room for projectiles, and Marth does not like things that move in the air.

I suggest learning your opponent, and countering every once and awhile.
My friend plays more defensively now that I've properly incorporated countering into my gameplay.
Try chaining your attacks.
Marth is all about flow.
Go with it.

Of course it's a good move. What we're saying is to not overuse it because you WILL be punished for it.

You can get punished a lot for Counter, that's why you have to know when to use it, no question it's a good attack. And seeing all of these Marth videos all over SWF shows me how different mine is than everyone else's, and I don't know if that is a good thing or not because I've yet to play in a tournament.

Ike is Solid, I hope you saw Vietgeeks match... older ones... I forget... but it was an awesome match... mainly because 50% of the battle was counters... perfectly set up perfectly executed...

I do agree that counter is punishable.

Marth game as defensive as is, keeps Marth keeps a fast tempo and can... counter tends to slow the tempo and pace it along with your opponent...

which goes to why I still feel counter is better than airdodging...

EL's thread or someones thread discuss counter rather than ADing... just because they come out about the same time... but the caveat is that counter SLOWS marth down and we've all gone through countering -> connecting with counter but missing and lagging -> PUNISHED...

for attacks that don't last long and which aren't limbed (Aether, D3 hammer, etc.) off from characters counter rather than airdoge (but if off stage, airdodge; just because counter stops your momentum and leaves you pretty vulnerable)

Honu your Marth in the meta match was good. I did see openings though and I agree with junk, the metaknight didn't really punish you when he should've.

I've been wanting to find out the application for the Usmash.

Gliding and Illusion seem to be punishable by Usmash; is it the priority or the spacing?

^I love counter. At the right times it can be amazing and I sometimes get kills with it against Snake. That is the one good thing about fighting Mr. overpowered because when you counter you do more damage, ha! Ive seen VietGeeks matches, they are cool. But seriously, I play different than almost every other Marth I've seen here. I'd say Vietgeek's older matches are kind of how I play.

I love faking people out.
I think counter works better with Ike, because it isn't used as often (or expected to be used that often).
At the ledge, it's great, especially for Kirbys and other characters who jump and gimp.
I hate the ledge, though.
It's not that I suck, it's Marth's lack of a decent double jump.

I think the Usmash against the gliding is more on spacing, im not sure if it has more priority over the glide atk.

Oh and ive got more videos if u guys just want to watch them, its against Rohins. He is claimed to be one of the best samuses over at the samus forums. Ill edit it into my original post.
