You know the little sprinkles you had on your ice
I don't know what to do. I know what gets me into the most trouble in my matches. I play like plairnkk does easily, it's just that the shield comes as more of a curse to me than anything else right now. I try to stop doing it, but i can't. I need some advice people. How do I fix this?

When a person is attacking you try to WD back, roll, or just sidestep. You may also be shielding a lot if your constantly being pushed back so either run or attack the character to get space.
This is all I could truly tell you with the info you gave.

Just play friendlies without ever shielding. You'll get punished a lot at first by good players without your primary defensive move, but you'll slowly get used to using a wavedash to dodge, spot dodging, or out-prioritizing an attack. Or you'll get frustrated and give up, but that's kinda the only way. Losing friendlies isn't important if you're getting better.

Yea I had a similar problem. All you have to do is to replace this with something else. After you find a 2nd option your enemy can exploit that. From there you just get more and more options and it will increase your array of choices

I found myself in your position not too long ago. Are you shielding mainly against space animals? Probably. Okay, things to do in this situation. If you do end up shielding just do a n-air out of your shield and then wave land away and reposition yourself. But if you are playing correctly, this wont be necessary.

You should always focus on being aggressive against space animals, otherwise they will easily dominate you. Needles, down smashes, grabs, and tech chase/punishing should dominate your matches. If you do it correctly they should be off the stage with a needle in their face at 70% falling to their death as you quickly get onto the edge with some fast fallen reverse needles.

Just work on being aggressive is all that I'm trying to get across to you.
