How does Jeff cancel his raptor boost? Does it just happen automatically when doing it on the rear of Corneria?

I had assumed this was someone re-discovering that you can side-b right before you land on the ground to start and cancel the raptor animation with CF or Ganon, but lo and behold, we find the side-B into a wall. The elephant in the room.
