Hi I am fairly new to the R.O.B. Boards and competitive smash. I Main ROB and 2nd Kirby.
Here are some friendlies I had with Underload. He is possibly the best snake in colorado.
Yes I realize there is a lot of cyphergrabs I missed. Because its a friendly. Regardless I have little snake exp so this was fun for me.
Well be nice in your assessment please. Thanks!

Are you sure you're new to competitive Smash?

That was a pretty good display of R.O.Bbery in my opinion friend, keep up the good work.

I watched these games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHtRff-ja0U

-You seem to have a bad habit of not watching for C4
-0:14, don't follow up with Nair, use Uair
-Less jab, more Dtilt
-RARing the Gyro became predictable after the 2nd stock of first game
-Laser precision could be better
-Use the Get Up Attack that does damage when getting up from the ledge. You missed numerous opportunities to catch him off guard
-You fell for the most obvious of Snake's tricks
-Attacking his shield too much
-6:31, Don't waste fuel trying to gimp, you could've done what you were trying to accomplish without all the waste of that fuel

I'll let someone else take care of the other videos.

Not bad at all. Just a couple things I noticed:
-I saw at least one fresh nair not kill at around 160 in one of the matches so whoever brought that up in the other thread...yeah. <3 Still worth going for though, damage is good if you can't get the immediate KO. All it takes is one instance of bad DI for it to KO.
-You got away with a LOT of projectiles. This isn't really criticism for you at all since you should definitely go for it if you can get away with it, but I would have liked to see the Snake powershield a little better just to see what you would have done in that case. ROB's projectiles have a lot of lag after you fire them but you didn't get punished for them. Maybe it was because they were friendlies, but Snake needs to walk forward and powershield more to approach.
-Watch your spacing. There were a lot of times when you floated or walked into uptilt range at KO percents. You didn't get punished for it but you were definitely in uptilt range (and ftilt range) at times, which Snake didn't abuse.

You definitely have the basics down pretty solidly, just know that powershielding and range-abusing Snakes make the matchup different

Thanks! I still need improvement. I have been playing Smash competitively since May. I picked up ROB about a month before NVGA Super-con. So ya I am pretty new.

Ya I don't play snakes ever so this was a real treat for me to get that MU exp. I really need to pay attention to the C4 more I agree. Also I did notice to often I would dSmash him rather than grabbing him when he shielded. But thanks. If you have any critiquing of the other vids feel free to post. That is exactly the kind of advice I need especially with this MU.

So, I watched the first fight of the first video. You started in May? Good **** man. Looks like we'll have a new pro ROB soon if you can travel a bit.

My advice isn't technical or in-game advise. You seem to have the mind to figure those kinds of things out on your own and me giving hard advice would only serve to limit you, but here goes. Oh, and that Snake doesn't seem good enough to give real advise off that match. He was way too predictable and you seemed to know that. :p

-Play the game more. Obvious, but it'll help your spacing a **** ton.
-Play against more people. This is what will help you to learn to read and predict. It's something that can only come after witnessing a large number of play styles. This will also help you to mix things up more.***
-Try new things. In friendlies, you should -not- play to win. Play to learn. Try new things, figure out what the best punish is in each situation, and fool around with wonky hitboxes to see if you'll be able to catch people off guard while remaining safety.
-Don't use Side-B. Didn't see you use it, but it needs to be said anyway. XD

***You might already do this, but like I said, I only watched part of the first vid and well..I don't know you. :p

Thanks! You guys are great in the assessment. I will go to an ooS tourney soon. I can't afford Pound 4. But I perhaps somewhere near by. I was thinking New Mexico for starters. Also because they have some really good smashers(Golden Glove and Dekar) And the scene is really chill. Also I am working on getting a combo video made, I am working on an original piece to put in it with some remix Gyromite music as well. When I finish I will put it up for download for all of the R.O.B. mains/enthusiasts. Again thanks for the swift and educational response :bee: :bee: :bee:
