Why am I scared to notice that on the SmashBros.com site, that the "How to Play" symbol is a WiiMote? Should this signify anything other than the fact that the game is played on the Wii?
Should we fear the loss of the GC controller?
Someone please settle my fears.

I don't think it will need to use the Wii mote in my opinion. It may be too hard to play with otherwise

I believe that's ONLY to address the most basic game play needs for those that have never picked up a Nintendo console before the Wii...

I've put a lot of thought into that myself & I believe using the Wiimote sideways would work quite well for the more basic aspects of game play...

But rest assured more complicated controls well be available for the more hardcore gaming crowds...

I think we had a discussion like this before. It's probably the NES controller instead of wiimote. Never noticed how it looks so familier.

ORRLY?... I guess it's a bit of a reoccurring issue here... I first started to talk about it in this topic... http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=103247

Meh I could see it as a real concern for some because the Wiimote by itself would work great if your not trying to pull off complex moves like wavedashing & the like...

But I doubt they would use only the Wiimote if for no other resin then it really doesn't feel that natural for long gaming bouts...

Nintendo would want to satisfy ALL gaming fans not just entry level casual players...

I really think they only put it there so people realize what system this is for. If they put a gamecube controller, stupid people would assume it's a gamecube game. Also, they might design this game around the classic controller, as I think I remember hearing that they don't make gamecube controllers anymore anyway.

Exacly my thoughts...The fact that it has a Wiimote on there just means that it is for the Wii..Nothing else.

They could have just as easily put a symbol of the Classic Controller there to get the point across just the same...

In fact that would have done a better job to speak for the type of control support...

To me this is proof that all three control types will be used...

But it really is to early to tell for sure... Just my guess...
