I have compiled definitions for each of these for your ease of use:

Abortion- Aborting a pregnancy

Affirmative Action- Requiring a certain number of minority workers, irrelevant of whether they qualify because they are a minority

Biometric National Identification- National ID containing thumbprint, retina scan, DNA marker tester or other bio-identifier

Cloning- The use of embryionic tissue to create life, such as specific organs or specific people. Usually for research

Death Penalty- The taking away of life as punishment for a crime

Euthanasia/Mercy Killings- Allowing someone to die or killing them to remove pain and suffering

France- A country between Spain and Germany

Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression- The right to express yourself, through language, speech, and art, with as little supervision as possible

Genetic Engineering- Changing, removing or enhancing DNA to create modify or fix a genetic problem or add beneficial traits

Gun Control- The belief that less guns mean less crime

Homosexual Equality- The belief that homosexuals should have the same rights as anyone else, and not be prejudice because of their sexual preference

Legalization of Marijuana- Belief that marijuana should be legal

Mandatory Military Draft- Required four or more years of service to your government. Not military draft in war times

Mandatory Minimum Sentences- Required minimum sentences for specific crimes

Minimum Drinking Age- Requiring a minimum age to allow people to drink

Pass/Fail Grading System- Grading system where effort dictates whether someone passes or fails regardless of quality of work

Porn/Adult Entertainment- Movies, books, live shows, magazines, etc. which include adults performing sex acts or other explicit material

Prayer in School- Allowing people to pray wherever they wish

Premarital Sex- Sexual relations before marriage

Racial Profiling- Observing one race more than another because they are known to commit more of a specific crimes

Separation of Church and State- The belief that government and religion should be separate. The government cannot endorse nor promote any religion over another

Sex Education in School- Teaching kids about sex in school

Video Games- Electronic games played on a computer or other electronic device

Violence in Entertainment- Allowing explicit or obscene material in movies, TV and other media for their entertainment value

Women in the Draft- Requiring that women join the draft

Women in the military- Whether women should be allowed in the military

Affirmitive action is a proposition that employers take race into consideration in an attempt to add more minority workers into the work-force. Were it to come to full effect, it would likely mean that potential minority employees would be more likely get a particular job than equally skilled white workers.

In my personal opinion.. while the concept is an attempt to eliminate race discrimination, all it really does is discriminate.

Another thing I'd like to point out.. it's funny how people can be pro-school prayer, yet also pro-seperation of church and state. You might want to rethink those answers.

For those who don't know, Affirmative Action is when businesses are required to hire a certain percentage of individuals of eack ethnic background, even if there are people of another ethnic background who are more qualified for the job. For example, maybe a Computer Manufacturing Plant would be required to have no more than 20 Caucasions working there, and must also have the same amount of African Americans, etc. Therefore, an African American who is less qualified for the job may be hired in place of a Caucasian simply so they can be "equal". At least, that's how I understand it. If some one has a better definition, feel free to say I'm wrong <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Just to clarify, individual prayer in school -is- already legal. I researched this topic last year for Speech class and I doubt that they've changed that. But of course, it's very illegal for a teacher to force it on to the classroom in any way. Heh, I actually had to argue that prayer in school was a good thing. That was hard for me, but I managed to pull it off. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Banning prayer in school would be infringing on the most basic of rights. It will never ever happen. It is impoosible to be "Against" school prayer in this respect unless you are also opposed to freedom of speech and religion, two of the most sacred clauses of the constitution. How would that ever make a debate topic? Fundies like to make you think that the courts have banned school prayer, when in fact they have only banned school-sponsored prayer. Big difference.

Then I do believe the question needs to be clearer. I think most would assume that 'school prayer' means organized prayer sessions sponsored by school officials... not just some kid walking through the halls saying to himself 'please, God, let me pass that test'.

Affirmative action - A process in which businesses are required to hire a certain amount of minority workers, even if there are white workers who are better qualified. Reverse discrimination used by Congress to counteract real discrimination.
Biometric National Identification - I assume implanted chips that identify people. I'm not sure.
Cloning - Cloning of cells, can create new organisms but is generally useful for research into creating organs.
Euthanasia/mercy killings - Assisting in the suicide of an elderly medical patient who finds the pain unbearable and just wants to die.
France - The country where everyone has a funny accent.
Freedom of speech/expression - The freedom to say whatever you want. I assume with restrictions is how G4F intended it, I.e. our current system.
Genetic engineering - Altering DNA to remove certain unwanted traits or to add beneficial traits.
Gun Control - Laws restricting the sale or use of guns. A bit too broad to just be "for" or "against", probably.
Homosexual Equality - Equal rights for gays.
Legalization of Marijuana- Making marijuana legal.
Mandatory Military Draft- A policy in which young males 18-25 are forced into the armed services in times of war (Vietnam, World Wars etc) and if they are morally or religiously opposed, forced into stateside desk army jobs.
Mandatory Minimum Sentences- Pretty self-explanatory.
Minimum Drinking Age- Again self-explanitory. Having an age at which it is illegal to drink alcohol if you are younger, and legal if you are older.
Pass/Fail Grading System- A grading system in public schools which gives you a grade of either "pass" or "fail" dependent solely on if you try or not.
Porn/Adult Entertainment- Movies, books, live shows, magazines, etc. which include adults performing sex acts on one another.
Prayer in School- People being allowed to pray in school if they want to.
Premarital Sex- Having sex before getting married being legal
Racial Profiling- When police pull over certain races more often because those races are more likely to be criminals, or searching only arab-americans for explosives on airplanes. Official organizations discriminating based on race.
Separation of Church and State- The government is not allowed to endorse, promote, fund, or do anything which favors one religion over another religion or lack thereof.
Sex Education in School- Teaching kids about sex in public schools.
Video Games- Not even fully sure myself on this one...I guess if you think videon games should be legal?
Violence in Entertainment- Whether violence should be allowed in media entertainment.
Women in the Draft - Whether women should be chosen along with men in the aforementioned draft.
Women in the military- Whether women should be allowed in the military.
