Questions on shielded shffls

Ok so i can land shffled nairs fairs and everything and actually have a pretty quick all around game. but when someone shields a nair or a fair ive noticed that it becomes harder to shuffle and i seem to randomly miss the l cancel, is there a different timing needed when u hit the opponent or something? ive noticed the same thing doing auto cancelled nairs on a shielding opponent cause i was practicing doing auto cancelled nairs followed up by dtilts or grabs before the opponent could shield grab. Any advice on this would be much appreciate, thanks

Yeah, shield lag screws up the timing.

i've been screwing around with it for a little while and ive noticed it sorta slows down the motion as ur attacking them so the timing is a bit slower, would i be correct in saying that?

Yeah, get used to SHFFLing shields and practice knowing when to Lcancel.
