So in a few weeks, I'll most likely have the best Luigi next to Boss. loljkormaybenothmm.

Anyway, while I'm training him, I know I'll have a few questions. I'd rather limit this thread from a huge discussion to just you guys answering these questions, and throwing in friendly advice every now 'n then. Thanks.

1.) Luigi's tornado. In Melee, he had to land in order to "refresh" his tornado, but I'm sure I've done a rising tornado twice without touching the ground. What's the physics of this?

2.) Which of Luigi's aerial's have the slowest wind down? That is, after you perform a Luigi aerial, which one takes the shortest amount of time to END to that another move can BEGIN?

3.) Which of Luigi's aerials have the shortest lag when landing? This means Luigi uses an aerial and receives lag from landing.

4.) What are the mechanics of a Luigi "waveland"? I don't know the exact term for it, and it's not just for Luigi but how do you slide the furthest when performing a SH aerial?

Only answer if you know the answer. No guessing. The Luigi thread seems to be a bit weak; let's step it up guys.

Hm... I know the answer for the first question only. Did you happen to be CLOSE to the ground when you performed the second cyclone? I don't remember what it's called, but that happens. Some people just cyclone and tap B, get back to the ground (or close to) then cyclone and tap B and there you have it, "refreshed".

If it's not... Can you enlighten us how it happened?

1) This is an infinite jump Luigi has, similar to Bowser's side B infinite, where the Side B refreshes just before hitting the ground.

I dont play Luigi, but I <3 Omni too much to not reply :p

1.) Luigi's tornado. In Melee, he had to land in order to "refresh" his tornado, but I'm sure I've done a rising tornado twice without touching the ground. What's the physics of this?
The physics are simple: In Melee, you had to "preload" by doing a Luigi Cyclone on the ground first, but this doesn't apply to Brawl. Only the first Luigi Cyclone done in the air can be a Rising Cyclone; you must touch the ground before you can do another Rising Cyclone. The faster you're falling before the Luigi Cyclone, the faster you have to press B to rise. Inversely, the faster you're rising before the Luigi Cyclone, the slower you can press B to get the same amount of rise. In other words, Jumping right before a Rising Cyclone will make it easier on your finger.

2.) Which of Luigi's aerial's have the slowest wind down? That is, after you perform a Luigi aerial, which one takes the shortest amount of time to END to that another move can BEGIN?
dAir lasts only 32 frames till the animation ends, but can be interrupted at the 29th. fAir lasts longer at 35 frames, but can be interrupted at the 24th. So fAir will be your fastest aerial.

3.) Which of Luigi's aerials have the shortest lag when landing? This means Luigi uses an aerial and receives lag from landing.
If you do not autocancel the aerial and find yourself with landlag, all of Luigi's are fairly short. The shortest is nAir at 14, interruptable on the 11th. The longest is fAir at 30, interruptable on the 23rd. You'll get really good at SH Aerial approaches, and you'll nearly NEVER findyourself stuck with landlag as you'll be autocanceling all his aerials.

4.) What are the mechanics of a Luigi "waveland"? I don't know the exact term for it, and it's not just for Luigi but how do you slide the furthest when performing a SH aerial?
Slowfalling while moving horizontally. That's all there is to it. The slide is minimal, so you should forget about this. The only time it matters is when you're landing a fireball and find yourself sliding into the opponent as he's being stunned by the fireball... perfect for a Fire Jump Punch.

Perfect, elheber. I'll have another series of questions most likely within the next day or so.
