I've been wondering if you are playing a doubles match and you lose all your lives can you switch controllers with your partner and play their character?

Because I've done it in tournament but I wanna know if it's allowed because I've never seen anything saying it isn't

Nope. Against unstated rules but typically frowned upon and I think in MLG sublaws it is stated (and we follow MLG standard).

I don't know about the legality of this but if you lost all of your lives before your partner maybe you shouldn't be taking over his controller.

ROFL ive done that in friendlys before and its really funny, but in tournaments ude be an *** to take someones controler and start playing its like unpluging a controler in singles..
