what impact would they have on the game?
would they be just another 'b move'?
(or their SSA, maybe?)

too me, it would add some to the game and
give us a few more options if we could use
quarter circle for more moves...

i know quarter circles are in almost every other
fighter and people probably like the fact that brawl
doesn't have them and that it "makes SSB stand out"

what yall think?

SSB has never really had specials, boasting combinations of buttons and directions for execution. Its really better to keep it simple. Once you start comboing, you can deal more damage than a special move anyway.

Visiting from above.
Implementing quarter-circles would be kind of difficult both to program and to pull off correctly. With a tilt in every direction, a quarter circle to any direction (like say, down to forward) would right now just be recognized as a f-tilt. And playing the game is pretty frantic already, I know I would accidentally pull off a QT instead of a regular tilt ALL the time.

I say: bad idea.

That would really go against the whole point of Smash Bros gameplay system. Smash Bros is designed to be an extremely intuitive, easy-to-learn fighting game where none of the moves are any more complicated than a direction and a button. It's one of the reasons the gameplay is so good. If we have to start screwing around with quarter-circles, those fast-paced, intense matches from Melee will be a thing of the past.

Although, I think I recall reading that the gameplay wouldn't be as fast as Melee.

i see, i didn't really think of the
possibility of the controller being confused
