The Smash Bros. Melee Tournament run by gamers, for gamers.
Date and Location
The tournament will take place in the Annex to the Student Center of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. The date is October 20, 2007. Doors will open for set up at 8:00am
Registration:
Upon entrance there will be a signup donation which will be used to cover the costs of prizes and the event. For the Singles (1vs1) tournament this donation should be $10 per participant. Registration will commence at 10:00am and the tournament will begin at 11:00am. There will be a limit of 100 participants.
Prizes:
The prizes for the singles will be to the value of the collected donations as follows:
1st place: 60% 2nd place: 30% 3rd place: 10%

Singles Tournament Rules:
- At tournament start, participants will be divided into a pools system of 16-man double elimination brackets for qualification into a 32-man double elimination bracket. Best 2 out of 3 rounds, finals are best 3 out of 5 rounds. 4 stocks per round. 6 minute timer on each round. No items. Double-blind pick can be requested for the first round. After characters have been selected, then each competitor can decide to knock out one stage from the random select for the first round.
- The stage for the first round will be chosen randomly from the following list: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Dreamland 64, and Pokemon Stadium. If the two players can agree on a stage for the first round then that stage will be chosen instead.
- The second and third (if necessary) rounds will have the stage chosen by the loser of the previous round. These include all of the random stages plus: Corneria, Rainbow Cruise, Green Greens, Brinstar, Mute City, Poke Floats, Kongo Jungle, and Jungle Japes. The loser will announce his chosen stage, the winner must then decide whether to change character or not. Then the loser will choose whether to change character or not. The match will then begin.
