It was the same thing in Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.

But now it just looks like Flamethrower.
I disagree...

Notice what Metaknight's getting hit with...a huge Blast...that from a side, looks just like a wall.
But if you pause it and enter camera mode, it'd probably look like the Fire Blast "stickman" we all know and love.

I personally love this Attack, because it's Quite original.
Squirtle is taking Blastoise's properties, and just blowing people away.
Ivysaur's Solar Beam is piercing
and Charizard's Fire Blast is high damaging to those hit by it...it's a great combination, and if all three hit (Pierced by Ivysaur, Stuck in the wall of Charizard's FB, and then blown away by Squirtle's Hydro Pump at High %) it could be devastating.

Look at how mammoth those wings are on Charizard. Ridley TOTALLY needs to be in this game right now.

Also, do you think that the trio will have invincibility when they let loose this... apocalypse?
1.yes ridley does need to be in the game.

2.i beleive all character will be invincible during their FS so yes.

i hope character with more of a firing type final smash can unleash it when they choose i mean imagine trying to avoid someone edgeguarding with this.

Oh, i always thought Fire Blast formed some kind of Kanji in the first pokemon games...

Fox's face as he's being obliterated cracked me up.

Perhaps some characters can save the smash ball to use whenever they want (Mario, Samus, PT... maybe replacing their "B" moves once), and others activate it inmediately (Bowser, Pit, Yoshi). Just a theory.

Alert: The Moreliator CPU has gone rogue

Also, Mic has just used his Final Smash: Topic Closing Barrage, on the main Brawl Room.

the dojo said:
The explosion launches out and expands vertically as it travels, so in order to inflict the most damage possible on enemies, it's best to release this from a slight floating or midair position on either the left or right side of the screen.
I think he more then hinted, if you can pick where to release it, then you can save it, we just have to wonder if you can save it forever, or what happens if you die, (gone most likely, that would suck!) and stuff like that.

Also to note, the Japanese name for their final smash, さんみいったい, can also mean Trinity (not just having the religious connotation)...so I immedtiately thought of Kingdom Hearts~~

Also Charizard seems like he's letting out the daimonji symbol...it's just on its side

Sakurai named the attacks.
What are you people talking about...it says

Squirtle = Hydro Pump
Ivysaur = SolarBeam
Charizard = Fire Blast

Those are the most powerful attacks in first gen...

Sakurai didn't make those up
Sorry it took me 6 and a half hours to reply.

Anyway,

I should've said "Should've" instead of "Could've". But I thought that sounded like I was complaining or something.

(Btw, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn and Frenzy Plant are incredibly strong move which only the starter Pokemon are able to learn)

It's Super Effective

Trinity sounds like a better name than Triple Finish.. I guess it would bring up religious conflicts or be confusing with Zelda and the Triforce.

I am pretty sure Charizard is firing the "daimonji" symbol. As was said before, it's just on it's side.

I am really curious if the Pokémon will use their Anime Voices like all the other Pokémon in Smash Bros. Or if they will have their RPG "Growls".

I, like most of you, was expecting them to individually use either Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon or Frenzy Plant. Frenzy Plant would've been awesome. This is really cool though. One of the better Final smashes...Unlike some others.. Coughdiddycough.

I Love the inclusion of the Text box, and the fact it actually says "It's Super Effective". Awesome addition. Shows how much detail from each individual game they are including in Brawl. Which basically means for a Nintendo fan, Brawl is going to be awesome.

Also, while the final smash may be more anime based (sending out more than two pokémon at once, attack at the same time) PT seems to be the first Pokémon Character that is entirely based on the Games and not the anime. Pikachu, Jiggs, Pichu and Mewtwo can't say that.

PT is totally going to be one of my Mains..

lol I love their freaky cheerleader pose and the fact that ivysaur is holding himself up with vine whip. I'm curious to know if any of them move their attacks, because personally I see water everywhere.

Well, regarding the question if :007:,:002:, and :006: will be using their anime voices or their game growls, I'm going to get cocky and say that without a doubt they will be using their anime voices. Every pokemon in Smash uses their anime voices, why wouldn't those three?

Personally, I'm curious as to how PT himself will sound in the english version. Will he sound fluent like Fox and CFalcon? Or will he have a heavy Japanese accent like Falco had? "Meeshun uh-Comprete!"

Pokémon Red and Green came out in Japan in 1996. The anime was made because of those two games and first aired in 1997.

Jiggs is awesome..:)

thats not entirely true, that the pokemon aren't really based on the anime,
Ash used charizard and squirtle, probably ivysaur too, but i never noticed that.
Actually Bulbasaur never evolved. He almost did, but didn't want to for some reason. He now keeps the peace at Prof. Oak's Lab.

I kinda hope they use their anime Voices and Squirtle's taunt is him putting his sunglasses on and posing, while saying "SQUIRTLE!"

Can anyone tell who's in the crowd at Pokemon Stadium 2? You can see them with more detail in the pic with Ivysaur in the Smash Ball. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I see a bunch of Jigglypuff-shapes.

I think they'll use their Anime voices too, not that it makes much of a difference. Anime sounds cooler though, but maybe I just think that because I used to watch it all the time.

Anyway, maybe PT will just shout a bit like Link, seeing as though he's a silent protagonist.

The way they write the first 3 Japanese symbols is how you write I K E in english ;D
Um...are you sure?

? = i
? = ku
? = so

In any case, I LOVE these last two updates! Resetti was hilarious, and this FS is great. I love the way Ivysaur flips his body forward to fire off the Solarbeam, and I love how the different Pokémon attack at different angles so as to encompass the entire playing field. The text boxes are what make it that much more special, though. Seeing "It's super effective!" just brightened my day. :bigthumbu

uhm... i think that he meant that the original symbols looked like i k and e, and they do. (a tiny little bit)

PT probably won't talk at all, or even grunt like Link does. Instead, the text will make the noises it makes in the games when scrolling.~~ That'd be more classic.
