Proposal: Making Stamina Mode more PM Viable

One day I was playing PM with some guys and one of us suggested that we try Stamina Mode (in hopes that it'd feel more like Street Fighter/Marvel with the HP system).

Initially, I thought: "Oh well that isn't a bad idea! I can see this work!"

And then everyone ended up CCing everything and we couldn't really combo for our lives.

Then I thought to myself...

I know that the PMBR is working real hard on PM as it is... but I was just wondering...
Considering the theory that Stamina Mode simply forces all characters knockback % to a fixed zero... could it be possible to change that value to a more combo friendly fixed percentage such as 50-80?
Perhaps even different values per character if PMBR even wanted to go so far as to balance it. xD

Now... I'm no specialist in PM or Melee... But for me it sounded kinda cool at first...
but coming from a more experienced background... how do you guys think it'd would work?

What Kink is telling you, is that there's already an option for you to do that. Nothing new needs to be programmed. Just adjust the, already existing, Damage Ratio option.

Damage Ratio 1.1 means the base knockback of moves is increased by 10%, meaning characters are sent further initially, and meaning they are constantly sent further in a mode like Stamina.

Stamina at 999 would make Turbo Stamina a valid option.
This is exactly what I want when 3.0 comes out.

Glad someone else was thinking it too.

Something I would really like to see is a Stamina mode where you can have more than one stock. You'd need to have dead characters disappear off the screen, maybe use Nana's vanish animation she gets when Popo dies to remove the corpses since individual death animations would be too much work. But after they've lost their last stock their body just lays around and you can beat it up like normal if the game hasn't ended.

Dunno how possible this is or if it's worth the PMBR's time, but only having 1 stock is what always stopped me from really getting into stamina mode.
