As a Falcon user, it becomes very difficult at times to go up against projectiles.

For example, a Falco would short hop, laser, fast fall, repeat. Of course most advanced Falco players would then proceed with a combo, but not the ones I play. This becomes very annoying as it cancels out any possible short jumps or if I'm running.

Or even if a Fox will just go as far as to just spam B repeatedly to raise percentage. Even if I get close to him, he'd run to the other side of the map and do the same thing.

Obviously Falcon doesn't have any projectiles to counter back and most of his moves require to be in the opponent's gut. And from the videos (the ones I've seen anyway), no pro players play such as the ones I play.

So what's the best tactic to get past the annoying lasers that cancel out every move you try to do? Or the lasers that hit you for 2% each nonstop?

Powershield or constantly put pressure on your opponent so they can't spam.

Jump over lasers/whatever, shield them, hang on platforms. etc.

You're falcon, how do they get to the other end of the stage before you?

Falcon himself is a projectile. :chuckle:

As mentioned: jump, use platforms, or wavedash out of shield. Sure you can powershield if you're reflexes are good enough, but the first three work fine. Just keep the pressure on and approach with nair or dair. Also, keep in mind that in the charging animation of side-b, you automatically dodge the lasers. Get close enough and time your side-b and you can hit them (Don't do this often because it can be punished with a shield grab).

If it's a fox spamming, just go head and run to him and grab him. Chances are you'll beat him to putting his gun away and you get a grab. The damage his laser causes is puny compared to the damage you can rack up from tech-chasing him.

I used to play a Falco who was like this. I'd say grab and tech chase a lot so they don't get a chance to laser, because my guess is they rely on lasers too much.

Yeah, thanks for the help and comments. It's just we usually play FD and that map is horrid for Falcon. I personally prefer Battlefield. Even in that in-depth guide for Falcon it says Falco vs Falcon matches are semi-dependent on the level; FD is bad for Falcon.

But yeah, that Foward B helps as it dodges those lasers. I guess an aggressive style would be best here.

Just practice power shielding. If your friend REALLY shoots lasers that much it should be easy to figure out the timing. Falcon Punch and Falcon Kick will probably work well.

QFT, I was just about to say the same exact thing.

But yeah, you just gotta be in their face the whole time so they won't spam. Like at the beginning of a match just run full hop knee them or something. Keep constant pressure. Learn how to keep the combos going, as it's easy to combo spacies.

Frankly, I'm guessing this guy doesn't have much knowledge of the advanced game, and probably just relies on dash attacks and smash attacks. You'll have to tell us a bit about how you play in order for us to help you more.

Use your testosterone as a projectile >.>

As far as I know from Fox n00b, just run up and kneeeee their face. You'll be halfway to them before they realize they should stop, and then there's the lag after.

For Falco, full jump over lasers with some rhythm.

Nah, I've got most advanced techniques down. Wavedashing, JCing, etc., yeah.

It's mostly Falco's laser that'll even cancel my jumps, running, etc. on Final Destination. Hate that map against projectile people. I can still beat the opponent but it's a pretty even matchup. I'd say I'm decent.

Anyways, thanks again.
