We don't have any clues about why some people are having issues with riivolution afaik. Maybe something in the installer or download messed up. DMG uses riivolution I think and it works fine for him. Maybe have him zip up what he has and try using that?

Did he do a Bowser ditto match? Thats my only problem now, it doesn't freeze, it just fails to load the texture so the game never actually loads the stage, it just sits there, no other texture for the guy will load, and where do I find him?

ive heard defragging your sd is bad for it
well all SD cards and any flash memory have a limited number of times data can be written to it. so i guess technically it is bad for it.

But as far as getting rid of ghost data and other nonsense that's ruining the custom music playback during matches, its good, well essential actually.

Lucas feels relatively unchanged to me. I couldn't tell you a single thing that was changed tbh.

You're probably used to the 0-2 frames of input lag from 2.1 when you got good with Lucas.

Something ive been curious about for a long time. as i understand it, no new characters can be added to the CSS without the clone engine work being completed. (like roy and mewtwo)

where did all those extra css blocks come from when the expanded css roster code came out?

pokemon separated, zzs, shiek, ect all having their own square, where as in vBrawl they did not?
how was/is this possible?

Were all those CSS blocks somewhere on the vBrawl disc already but were never implemented in the final game design?

The problem isn't adding a new slot to the character select screen, it's adding an entire new character. Each character has his own folder on the disk. So characters like squirtle/charizard/ivy and sheik/zelda weren't added, they were just given a slot which loaded their respective folders.

Creating a new character isn't possible yet because they don't have their own respective section on the disk to load. I believe they attempted to use one of the sections of the leftover data that was supposed to be characters like roy and dr. mario but that didn't work out.

You can actually have up to 50 icons on the CSS if you use some duplicates. Adding the icons is the least of the issue.

I found the most fun 1P game though. Chu Dat mode, double Bowser team vs. level 9 CPU team.

PMBR, please add this to the game as a real feature!
Heck yes. Or at the very least, the PMBR NEEDS to leave this glitch in.

You can practically play team battles by yourself, and it's hilarious. Team Attack Off, Fox/Falco or Fox/Falcon team. Make your own Wombo Combos pretty much. lol

I also definitely feel that lucas has changed from 2.1 from 2.5, it feels as though his jump is a lot slower, kind of (but not to the extent) like bowser in melee where it takes a while to leave the ground... guess this could just be the input lag change but it makes playing lucas a lot worse for me

I noticed today that there is no attack staling. Why is that the case? Didn't Brawl have attack staling?

Mostly because it can seem silly to arbitrarily make a move less effective just because the opponent keeps falling for it. If it's the best move for the situation, it's the best move for the situation, and stale moves hurts a player for landing moves successfully.

Wow.
Starting thinking about Samus today, and how I was super stoked to see ZSS in Melee form.
I can't wait to see Samus in PM form!
I wonder what those clever folks are coming up with...

Thanks, that's good to know. I don't have to save my usmash with Squirtle as much if I know it's going to land. :)

Maybe. But sometimes people just spam one move because the opponent can't do anything about it. For example I have seen people spamming D3's ftilt when the opponent is about to recover. That is kinda lame. Usually characters have different options to react should be rewarded for using a variety of moves. That is how I felt in Melee, I always tried to use a variety of moves to have a bigger damage output.

even if it is "lame" lowering damage really doesn't do much about it even if they can't do anything about it in the first place.

Well maybe they still get hit but the damage output is slightly lower. Of course you can still use Jigglypuff's bair all the time but it would be even more critical if there was no staling at all. So better than nothing I guess.

Just about every character can get past Ftilt. Melee's system works well because it doesn't impact the combo game. (Use this move a bunch and then it combos better! Way to punish repeated actions.)

Shadic how did you get to be mod so much. You were one on Smashmods and you're one here. It's like you have some kind of draw to power yet you don't abuse it. Hmmmmmmm.
