Ahh, I thought you meant you were eating it. XD Well... make some weird unheard of food that they've never seen before that's actually delicious? Chances are they won't touch it cause they don't know what it might taste like.
They say if you don't want to get burned, stay out of the kitchen.

I fear heat more than I do any amount of darkness, spiders, snakes, roaches, or any other common fear. Heat is my mortal enemy. If it's over 85 degrees I don't want to be anywhere near it. Shame because where I am it goes into the 100s during the summer.

So if it's unheard of, it definitely won't be cooked.

No lag whatsoever? And I mean whatsoever, if there's half a frame of lag I'll notice lol
Most flat screens have 5ms lag, which is less than a third of a frame. Some have 2ms, which is less than an eighth.
The FGC has no problems using flatscreens, I don't get why people say the lag is such a problem. The upscaling doesn't look good, but the lag ?

I thought upscaling was the lag problem, their games don't need to be when they use component cables with a console that can output HD or something.

Oro what would i have to do to let diddy pull bananas like link pulls bombs, with the current toss archs happening when you hold b?

Wouldn't it make more sense for "hold b" to correspond with "hold on to the banana"?

Either way, I'm totally okay with that change.

I went straight from CRT to this without noticing a thing. And I'm pretty picky about lag.

It makes the game look ridiculously good. I wanna practice more now simply because it looks so much nicer. Urgh.

That 5ms and 2ms you see advertised and listed in a flatscreen's specifications is response time. It's a completely different thing from the input delay experienced between the your controller and the corresponding action on the monitor.

Companies tend to not release information on how much input lag their TV has. If you go to FGC forums like Shoryuken you'll see they have threads dedicated to testing flat screens for lag and it turns out that there are actually very few on the market with <1 frame of input lag (and most are computer monitors, not flatscreen tvs). This is why a certain model of ASUS monitors is called the "EVO monitor"; they were the standard monitor used for 2011/2012 EVO because at the time it was the most affordable monitor that was tested to have lag under 1 frame.

Another issue with what you are saying is that most (all?) traditional fighting games have at least a few frames of buffer, whereas Project M has none. Buffer somewhat alleviates the impact of input lag in certain situations for those other fighting games

Mmm, to be honest I don't eat bread anymore. I haven't eaten bread in several years probably. Nuts and chips fill that void. If I did eat bread, however, I'd probably eat Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted grain bread. It's all about those sprouts.
Is that stuff known as 'Genesis' bread or something too?
If so, same here to all that. We have about 5 pieces on a loaf left in the freezer that hadn't been touched since November or something. Just whipped out a couple pieces for some fancy toast treat today.
Epic coincidence?

Seriously tho I use a Vizio 32 LCD and from what I can tell there's no input lag whatsoever.

I wish I had another reason to buy a Wii U though. I'll definitely get it for the 3DS, but I feel skeptical...

I just read the last few pages to catch up, and yeah cooking is secretly extremely easy, and even if you're a fan of burgers and fries, you can make that stuff at home pretty simply and quickly, and a billion times better in every way from taste to price to health to look to whatever.

It's something worth looking into if you're not into it and have the option available. If you don't have the option (dorms or something) find some way of at least getting an idea on what it would take to GET the opportunity. At least that way, you'll know if you can or can't, and how hard it would be if you actually decided to go through with it. That's the first step, looking into the possibility.

Otherwise, the internet has everything you need from there. From people to articles to tutorials to recipes to whatever. Find what you need, whether it's access to space, tools, ingredients, whatever resources you have. It's well worth at least a good effort and look.

Saph Dragon, what do you usually have in your thick sandwiches/etc/what are they like?
By the looks of your posts, we have a very similar diet that's pretty rare to come across, so that's cool.
I actually have Chard leaf sandwiches more often than anything. Basically it's just a bunch of anything from Avocados to Mushrooms chopped/sliced and put in a Chard leaf with some kind of sauce/spice/something to top it off. We also have sushi a lot, but with no rice or fish, so it's basically just veggies wrapped in nori, either with quinoa (if it's a potluck) or just anything else I feel like from dressings to dips to nut butters to whatever.

Cooking is easy when the diet doesn't consist of baked goods, dairy, meats, etc.
Though occasionally some good bread, eggs, or cheese are a nice treat. Only the best of it though! :D

Of course. I had a set from when I first got my crappy old 780p LCD... They didn't help a whole lot on that old thing. Work great on this though.

It's a Magnavox 20MF500T.
I didn't even know TVs could come in 780p . . .

Cooking!

I cook greek food every day because it's my job. But I like making things like mushroom/greenpepper omelettes at work for lunch because I'm sick of greek food :(.

Cooking really isn't that hard it can just be tedious at home having to go get the ingredients and wait for things etc etc, once you have everything set up the rest is pretty simple.

I will never get over the fact that it's ice climbers and Samus in your signature and not Link/Zelda/Ganondorf
Well they are leftovers from when I played Melee/Brawl :p.

I actually have a shirt that has ice climbers with triforces on their gloves holding a wind waker and an ocarina lol.

Deliciously crafted meals take time.

I'm not going to make one on the way to college when I can grab a sausage mc muffin (no egg) for $1 each.

I would actually buy my college's food as it's all technically homemade right there. It's very good too.

Problem though.

A SMALL FRIED BURRITO COSTS $2.
A PANCAKE BREAKFAST COSTS $6.
EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED.
Do you have to buy those burritos and pancakes (whatever else is there) or can you get food between courses/away from there easy enough?
If not, that could be where to look in terms of when the meals-from-home thing will be most handy.
Sandwiches like a boss.
Even just make a massive smoothie or something and leave it in the fridge, taking a bottle/container of it once in a while for a few days could be a good way of getting some bulk easy-to-travel with decent food in tasty form (especially in hotter seasons/times/areas) that lasts and can be made in a single burst.

Basically all that advice was perfect.

As for my diet, it varies wildly. I haven't made a sandwich in years, probably. If I haven't bought anything for a while I eat what my grandmother usually cooks (beans, mustard greens, cabbage, frozen vegetables) along with my quinoa and/or pasta. I usually have truroots pasta or Ezekiel pasta on hand and a few jars of organic pasta sauce as well, to cook when needed. For snacks I eat whatever fruits are available (usually banana and/or apple) and for breakfast I eat grits, oatmeal, or fruit depending on time, but have been recently eating a lot of organic eggs.

When I do buy things I go all out. Udi's Ancient Grain simply sea salt chips, Naked green machine, macadamia nuts, Trader Joe's 73% dark chocolate, Daily Greens Harmony, Udi's Maple Pecan chocolate chip cookies, 100% baby kale, dried cranberries, things like that. I often pick up at least one new thing to try every now and then. I am a huge snacker so what I buy is usually gone in two weeks, and back to eating whatever's there again. :p

I got back into cereal (Ezekiel golden flax (tasteless :/), Nature's Path Hemp granola, Koala chocolate crunch) after having given it up due to not wanting to drink more milk. I bought a bunch of coconut milk in cans (Native Forest/no BPA) but soon found out that the amount of guar gum they put in it upsets my stomach. I've eaten So Delicious coconut milk desserts before that had guar gum so I thought I'd be fine, but there was just too much for me this time. I broke down and bought some grassfed milk from Organic Valley so the cereal won't go stale before I figure out what to do with all the coconut milk (dilute it with something? I tried water and honey.... still upsets stomach)

Speaking of honey, I looooooooooove Really Raw honey when it's in season. I eat that stuff straight, like a drug >.>

Edit: Just realized I didn't really answer the sandwich question, lol. XD When I used to make sandwiches, I usually put turkey slices and baby spinach on them, I think along with mayonnaise too. If I still made sandwiches I'd no longer do this because raw spinach inhibits calcium/iron absorption, so I'd need to cook it first. I have never really made specialty sandwiches; before I switched to pure turkey I was just using bologna and low quality meats like that.

Edit 2: That said, on the less healthy side of sandwiches, fried bread with eggs is toooooop tieeeeeer. Anyone who hasn't tried this needs to go meet their new favorite food and make love to it with their mouth. (Guys this post is going to explode)

73% dark chocolate
You know a dark chocolate fan when they have a specific % of choice.
Typically my preference is 78%, less than that I find it just a bit too sweet for what I expect of dark chocolate. I've enjoyed up to 86% though if my pallet is really crying out for bitterness. I've even tried 92%, but that was past the point for me.
86% cacao and a good cup of black coffee... Now that I'm thinking about it I may just have to do it tomorrow.

My specific % of choice is actually 85, but Trader Joe's doesn't make it that dark. It's an exercise in patience trying to find a good, dark chocolate without soy lecithin. I usually just settle for whatever dark % I can manage as long as there's no soy lecithin.

I can go up to 92% easy, but past that it's too much. I tried World Market's 99% chocolate once... can't stress the word 'once' enough. XD

Saito: Ah, I see, I didn't know if you were saying you had to eat those over-priced things at school and just avoided the breakfasts, or whatever.
Hence the question. McMuffin is a McDonalds exclusive thing right?

Awesome. A close friend that joins for a lot of potlucks and things (we have fermenting parties too, have you ever looked into things like sauerkraut?) is a forager, so I have some luxury wild local mustard greens quite often. There's so much great stuff growing like weeds everywhere, that's something I'm looking to check out a little more this summer too.
Edit: 100% wild salads are crazy good. SO strong in flavor. Fresh wild mustard garlic (the green) is ridiculous!
I hope you (and everyone else whether they want to or not lol) get to try a good wild salad one day if you haven't already. The best. <3

Bulk buying is the best too. Do you have access to a deep-freeze/get into dried fruits or seeds/nuts storing with big bulks ever? It can be pricey up-front, but it's always cheaper long-term, so if it's doable then it's worth it. You can make your own almond milk (or cheaper nuts, almonds are on the pricey end), or soak dates + almonds to have with oats/etc as breakfast to spice it up, things like that. Long-term storage is pretty essential though, it'll all last over a year in a pantry/dark and colder space (under the bed lol) if no deep-freeze is available anyway. The stuff adds a lot of flare to everyday snacking. ;)

I didn't know Ezekiel made pasta, that's cool. I usually go for black-rice pasta if I ever get something that isn't locally made. Soba(?) I think is the brand. Most of what I get from elsewhere is labeled organic or whatever, though I'm a big fan of local people and the local markets are my go-to along with that. There's some locally made basil-laced spelt pasta that tops almost every other pasta I've had in like... all ways, so if I ever eat pasta... it's probably the one. Rotini (I think that's the shape) swirly kind of things.
So good.

I'm a big fan of chips too (Kiwa chips [they're Beet/plantain/stuff chips] are amazing but ridiculously priced haha), usually opt for making my own kale chips, or at least buying something from the region/product made near me.
Chips are the best...
You ever make dips or anything? (blending or whatever/humus or something even)
I could collect and ship over some recipes if you like doing that stuff/it's time to try the new thing/spice up the chip-life.

I'm not familiar with many names, but I've heard of most of those (Trader Joe's, etc) though I've tried Nature's Path cereals before for sure. Those are pretty good, I eat it sometimes when I go to a friends house for Smash, he has probably every kind they have at all times. He's actually the one that got me into chips in general and the Ezekiel bread too. XD
That coconut milk things sounds like a fun fiasco, best of luck there, I have no ideas for that one. haha
Have you ever had the chance of trying raw unpasteurized dairy of any kind? It's generally illegal or whatever (there are actually ways around this that make it legal, but it's a maze), but it's around and that's as far as I go with dairy in terms of larger quantities. Basically the exception is some small amount in some dish at someone's house or whatever. lol
Worth trying if you get a chance. Most lactose intolerant people, and those who generally can't handle dairy well/have reactions of some form to it, can handle it/aren't intolerant to it too. So that's a bonus and is great for people who like milk but can't drink it/worth a try a lot of the time since it's usually the pasteurization process that messes with people.
Oh, and it's way more delicious and diverse, obviously though.

My brother and I used to bake cookies with a rule that there ALWAYS had to be cookies in our fridge. Literally 100% of the time, no exceptions.
They were pretty famous around here, known as 'Calcifer Cookies' (named after the fire demon in Howl's Moving Castle' that basically ran and operated the entire thing, and if the fireplace went out (our cookie supply) the house would implode or something crazy.
They were pretty hardy cookies. Turbinado, local flower and honey and either butter or flax depending on the batch, lots of spices (cayenne and cinnamon rocked), cacao powder and various berries, carob chips usually.
mmmmm....
We have the ingredients for this in my house right now... and have for a long time... but haven't made them in ages.
I wonder if I should stop my house from imploding now... ;)

Honey...
We shouldn't even go there.
We go through 5kgs every few weeks around here... it's nuts.
We need honey-hats with straws or something. lol
Edit: If you ever get one for yourself, let me know. ^ That would be amazing. XD

Get into raw cacao much? It's really easy to make chocolate stuff too, or even just hot cacao drinks with (10 gallons) of honey.

Ground beef tacos are the **** guys, takes like 30 minutes to make and fills you the hell up and you'll even have left overs if you don't eat like 4 tacos

Or you could try Salisbury steaks. You gotta get the beef gravy for pouring over it though while it's cooking. Put the ground beef in a giant bowl, mix in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, a couple eggs, throw some bread crumbs in there and some Worcestershire (goddamn i cannot spell this word, auto correct saves the day), mix alllll of that together. Then once all of it is sufficiently mixed, form the beef into round patties, put the patties in a pan and let them cook. Brown both sides, pour the beef gravy over them and let them simmer. Cook w/e else you want (corn, rice n ****). Bam you have great dinner

Enchiladas are good too, although those take longer since you have to boil (or fry) the chicken first, but you get a lot for what you pay for (you probably spend $20 AT MOST) since you'll have dinner for three, plus enough leftovers to eat for dinner again the following night. It's even better if it's all for you, enchiladas for breakfast lunch and dinner yeeeeeee

Homemade mac and cheese is hella good too if you make it with Velveeta cheese, instructions are basically on the Velveeta package itself, all you gotta do is boil the noodles (throw olive oil in there if sticking would be an issue), then while those are boiling, cut up the amount of cheese you're going to use into smaller pieces (so it melts faster), drain the noodles, put milk, cheese and noodles back into pot, stir until cheese is fully melted. Boom best mac and cheese you'll have in your life

I have NO IDEA about how healthy all this actually is for you tho loooool

also i heard hot water w/ honey works hella wonders for you when you're sick

Ahhhh, that's really awesome that you can get local wild greens and things for salads and food. :D I live in the city and don't have my own transportation so that's not an option yet for me sadly. :/

I haven't looked into deep freeze/bulk storage yet but I will once I actually have space to store it. XD I'm probably more interested in preserves than dried nuts or fruit (have never really liked dried fruits besides raisins/cranberries).

I have made my own kale chips before, they are soooooo goooooood. I just don't get kale often so I don't often make them. I don't really get into dips, but I'm willing to try some out, so definitely send me those recipes. :)

As far as unpasteurized milk goes, I really want to try it, but haven't had the chance. I haven't heard that bit about lactose intolerant people being able to have it, that's really awesome. :D The best thing I can get is that grassfed milk I talked about before, which is also non homogenized. I'm only getting it to eat the cereal I have before it gets stale, so after that I won't be buying anymore... Even with unpasteurized milk, milk is generally so high in calcium and low in the other nutrients the (human) body needs to actually absorb it that it ends up leeching calcium from the bones if you drink it too much. I like to say it as someone on a forum once wrote, but I will paraphrase as it's by memory: "Cow's milk is designed for nurturing a large, vegetarian bovine calf and not an adult human body" which is just to say that imo I wouldn't want to make a habit of drinking milk. Yogurt on the other hand... well, I'm just going to have to be hypocritical on that one. ;)

That cookies rule sounds way too good. I like that name for it too XD I think you should stop your house from imploding now, actually. :p

LOL I did not expect to find another person who would demolish honey like me. XD I should be the first inventor of the honey hat. (But then everyone will sue me cause they'd attract bees like crazy D: )

I have looked into raw cacao but have not had the chance to try it. I recently watched an Anthony Bourdain show about rare cacao trees and some that have pure white beans. They apparently sell chocolate sourced from where he went on the show so I need to go research more about that XD

Also you guys ever made smoothies? Strawberry banana smoothies are the ****ing bomb

I'd get fresh (or frozen) strawberries and bananas from the store, some yogurt and orange juice (screw milk, makes the thing taste weird). Put strawberries, bananas, orange juice, and yogurt in, mix the whole thing up. If it's too thick, either pour more orange juice in or water, since water is good for thinning up the consistency without detracting from the taste. I like my strawberry banana smoothies looking more red rather than pink-ish, so if it's too pink I'll toss in a few more strawberries until it's the red I want. My strawberry/banana ratios are pretty high though so lol

Beef and Velveeta are probably two of the least healthy things you can possibly eat other than straight up fast food. XD Enchiladas are ok, and smoothies are absolutely awesome. I'm too lazy to make my own smoothies though so I let Naked juice do that for me :p

also i heard hot water w/ honey works hella wonders for you when you're sick
If anyone, and I mean -anyone- here, has a cold or the flu, go boil mustard greens and/or kale (stems included) until it starts falling apart or there's not much water left (or both). Drain the liquid into a cup, add a little sea salt, drink up and you will feel like you never had a cold (more like "Have I ever had a cold in my life before?" good). My mom has tried this, I have personally tried this, and I kid you not it works. Quit buying all that cold medicine junk or trying to be manly and take nothing. Not worth it when this fix is so easy.

Ground beef tacos are the **** guys, takes like 30 minutes to make and fills you the hell up and you'll even have left overs if you don't eat like 4 tacos

It's not the healthiest, but who cares? It's delicious!
It may not be good for your long-term physical being, but CAN it be healthy?

YOU CAN MAKE IT SO

Tacos:
1) Throw in lots of veggies (obviously), but make them good veggies. As in... don't just fill something with plain lettuce and some tomatoes. Diversify it, there are a lot of awesome things you can do to tacos that don't have to mimic burgers and sandwiches.
2) Make your own salsa or sauce. Don't do store-bought or packaged stuff, and make your own home-made googled versions, and this is probably the best thing you can do to making the meal better for not only health, but awesomeness, flavor, awesomeness, price, and awesomeness. + You'll be able to make a lot easily and eat it on its own like a chili (just mix it with some chunks or mushrooms and beans or whatever) or as a sauce for other things (pastas etc/later meals/store massive quantities for future Taco nights)
3) If you're hardcore, you can ditch the beef for some other good stuff too. Almost any veggie-patty recipe makes some of the most flavorful and filling slop you'll ever get your face in. Beef slop is literally the short end of the stick regarding slops, but only if you've tried it for yourself. It's cool, but there's so much more to be done as a taco base. Experiment!

Enchiladas:
1) Same deal basically. You can also ditch the chicken here, but that's just optional. These things can be filling enough with just rice or beans or whatever (quinoa and other alternatives even), and it's a lot cheaper so you can eat more if you want while saving, if price is an issue (I don't think I've ever spent more than 10$ on the ingredients for a potluck-worth of enchilada necessities, but it does take a long time to build up the knowledge of where the cheap ideal resources are... but I'm still assuming most of that price is from the chicken [I've never bought chicken for anything haha])
2) This goes for all Mexican-style food, really. lol
Even sandwiches and sushi can fit into these concepts. Make a sauce, diversify veggies, experiment with bases/slops to the dishes.

Mac and Cheese:
1) Get some good noodles. There's nothing worse than having a vehicle for the taste that's just going to weigh you down with the after-effects of eating it. Eat some hardy pasta that you'll get some energy out of. You should be feeling great after a meal, not lethargic or weighed down. Noodles = food. Food = nourishment. Nourishment = energy. If your food isn't making you feel energetic and active (maybe AFTER an hour if you eat 30 tacos), then you should replace it with some food... because actual food is good instead.
For noodles, if they're just bright yellow/white and you wouldn't eat them plain, then why eat them? Get something tasty and put tasty stuff on the tasty stuff. Bland is bland, so there's no reason to eat food for taste if the base is mediocre at best.
2) Add some veggies. Nothing beast a plain cheese sauce than cheese sauce with style. ;)
3) Edit: I don't know what Velveeta is, but if it's not very good, then good dairy is necessary too. lol

Honey and hot water are great. Add that combo to some good teas or cacao drinks and you're set for life.
Note: If you throw these twists into the Taco/Ench/M&C meals, you won't need them for 'when you're sick' because you won't be sick much.
You'll just drink honey and cacao in hot water and eat delicious meals... because they're increasingly delicious the more you dive into it, and you'll even find foods tastier as your palette develops due to the less intense and more dynamics flavor sensations, and it'll just HAPPEN to be nourishing and feel great along the way. ;)

FOOD IS AWESOME!!
FOOD IS AWESOME WHEN YOU'RE PART OF THE TEAM
FOOD IS AWESOOOOOME
WHEN WE'RE EATING THE HONEEEEEEEYY!!!!

Edit: Saph, big city or what? If you have even a field around your house (or anywhere you stay for a while) you can probably find something.
Like... every plant is a plant, and it's really hard to find a plant that's harmful to eat, and it's even harder to find a plant that isn't really good for you. Dangerous plants do exist, so nobody should go out eating everything off the floor, but I could probably walk to the nearest part and find carrots, cabbage, lettuce, and mustard, at the least. Probably some cool stuff like horseradish and elderberries or something too even. XD
Most weeds in gardens are completely edible plants.
Why do we not eat this? We had 250 generations of agriculture in various forms before the Roman times, to slowly gravitate our sense of food and diets to simply the things we preferred to eat/sell well at markets/enjoy through strong flavor sensations, and naturally losing almost all development of the palette along the way to 'bitter' 'sweet' 'sour' and whatever other few things we classify them as in our simple terms, since we have simple food sense now.
That was all before we developed a decent meta-game in the food-loving world regarding how to manipulate this food even. We have some... back-tracking to do. haha

Ever tried dried mango or dried dates? I love them. >_>
Figs too.
Nuts aren't dried, though I'm sure that's a spelling error. haha

Grass-fed is legit.

I'll send over some recipes sometime.

In the meantime, since the smoothie talk, I'll share a home-made ice-cream recipe here in a sec.
I think I've posted it in this forum before, but I'll do it again... :p

Ediedit: Totally random coincidence again?
Someone just sent me this on facebook.

My kind of sandwich. XD
Here's the link they sent me for it, but really you can just put anything in there/mix it up.
PS: This kind of thing is super-cheap to do, and can be super-filling at that (+you can eat a lot if you make them light since they're super-cheap anyway) if you're looking for super-cheap and delicious nutrition that can either be a dense meal or a light snack.
