This is why you watch heavyweight boxing

200+lb men cant run around like that for 12 rounds without getting tired out, so they have no choice but to actually fight

I think you guys are blaming the wrong guy. Pacquiao was swinging at air most of the time and did so bad that Mayweather just had to control the tempo of the fight.

But since Manny gets 100 million just for showing up he didn't need to give his best.

Mayweather dodged the fight for 5 years because he knew Pacquiao had the best chance to ruin his undefeated record. Pacquiao is more of a politician than a boxer at this point, making him really rusty. The only way he could've won was by some miraculous KO.

In PM news, it seems like there are people who are expecting balance changes and tweaks out of 3.6. I thought it was mostly going to be a bug fixing patch, with a few extras(colors for alt skins, remade stages, and Oli's new recovery). Not a big change sort of deal.

Do you have a source for that info? If not, your guess is just that. We already know they are tweaking roy's dtilt and if they are doing that god knows what else they might tweak. It's not going to be major changes for sure, but changing some numbers values on a lot of characters to slightly adjust their balance seems likely.

I mean, the 3.6 trailer saw a smaller bowser IIRC (that might've been other posters' placebo tho, @ Frost | Odds Frost | Odds pls respond)

I expect very, very tiny changes, and I'm cool with that

The trailer showed no changes on Bowser.

Unofficial statement, but I'd probably say the breadth of changes (in terms of quantity and in most cases significance) in 3.6 is about 20-30% as wide as 3.5's changes, with several characters receiving little to no changes, and most of the ones that do having a fairly concise list of changes.

i'd say there are probably going to be a few changes, but no where near the amount in 3.5. i'd put money on olimar's new upb being the biggest change that's happening, tbh.

(and let's see what pops up on the next page. gg, blind posts).

edit: so, yeah, sbad's statement seems to work with my thoughts. i also agree with foo and whoever else voiced similar sentiments. it feels like it's taking too long to just be a purely "known bugs" fix patch.

@ Helsong Helsong , I was more-or-less referring to Ike's collectedness in action. He always seems to be without uncertainty, and that in itself is a huge part of the hero's journey. With Chrom (even if awakenings choices were quite artificial gameplay wise), there was a common uncertainty and visible weight to each possible action of his on the character, and that in turn made each decision more impactful on his overall moral aura. With Ike, he can still keep with the overzealously strong archetype, but he seems to take each giant step with none or little of the questioning or uncertainty that separates a trip to the market from a truly heroic display of courage within the game-verse (let alone reality).

@ Foo Foo My own reasoning was drawn from the versioning numbers: 3.02->3.5 was a huge change, and the version increase showed that. However, 3.0->3.02 was just a small change, and thus, smaller increase. 3.5->3.6 implies something in the middle, which is why I assumed(given the trailer) that it'd largely be a content and feature update, with bug fixes and tweaks thrown in.

Strong Bad's statement seems to confirm that? But who knows, the PMDT are full of surprises.

Ah, I definitely see what you mean. Yes, in that sense, Ike did have a sue-ish quality about him. He had his moments of uncertainty at the beginning, but he seemed to grow into the leadership role and gain confidence a bit too quickly in PoR. Chrom was a bit more believable, like you said.
I think Ephraim did what Ike did with a bit more believability. He definitely had the same confidence and collectedness as Ike, but had the extra justification of being extensively trained in battlefield tactics, and already seasoned in actual war by the time the game even starts.
Man, why can't we have a sequel to Magvel featuring Ephraim?

did someone say Bowser

... Anyone know if the PDP fight pad controllers have any components compatible with GCN controllers? I have an itch to do some Frankensteining but don't want to take this thing out of the box and lower resale value if it won't do me any good.

I would assume the ABXY and D Pad would, as well as control sticks, but you'd really just have to open it up and see if the bits match. Maybe see if you can find any pics of it disassembled online

I played around with Pit a little bit today, since I used him the most in Brawl. He was fun, but...I feel he's kinda lackluster? He feels like he has not that much "flavor" to him. Or maybe I'm just too used to Ike's swag. I kinda feel the same about Metaknight and ZSS, but I haven't really put a whole lot of time into learning them, so I'm probably just missing something.

Also, I took a nap and had a nightmare in which the PMDT took out JC quickdraw in 3.6. As in, it was just a "rush forward" move, no real options. It was like he had the soul just torn out of him. Flair gone. Still a decent character, but wow, I don't think I could ever play Ike after that.

Today I went to buy my first amiibo and then something happened (everything was a bit blurry) and then I left the store with 10. What did I just do? :v
