One day, in PM, I will learn to stop going for the Dair spike as Marth.

The story of the past two days has been:

-style and combo people off the stage
-go for the #CarpeDiem dairspike
-miss
-SD because this move has eight-billion frames of recovery lag

I'm pretty sure I have died more times to this than I have by actually getting hit

Seriously, I wanna yell "MARTH PUT THE SWORD AWAY YOU MISSED" but he just takes like 8 years to put it away, HURRY UP DAMMIT

Also Usmash has to be literally the most useless move ever

So many times have I thought "maybe usmash should work" and I do it and IT MISSES SOMEHOW even though they were right above me and it has like the crappiest knockback in the game if it misses

Thank God his Fsmash and Dsmash are hilariously stupid when tippered :V

Holy crap.

I'm playing this right now. Got a sword Frenzy Barb completed Hell. Working on Zeal/Sacrifice Pally and Skellemancer.
Then again, I'm using mods, so it's not as impressive as it would be vanilla.
Niceee. Zeal Pally so funnn :p.

On another note...

Plane ticket and hotel booked for Evo!!! Let's goooooo!

Edit: Homemade Strawberry muffins are godlike.

Upsmash can true combo into fsmash tipper :p. I'll leave you to find out how that works ;).

Marth's upsmash and downsmash are so underrated. 2 moves that are actually good yet rarely used.
I can't see how Dsmash is underrated. I literally picked up Marth out of nowhere two days ago and it took like two matches for me to realize how good it is.

Usmash is powerful if you tipper it, but since Marth stabs straight up the tipper hitbox requires you to be directly beneath your opponent for it to hit. I mean you can hit people on platforms above you but why not just utilt...

Upsmash can true combo into fsmash tipper :p. I'll leave you to find out how that works ;).
I did that once to a CPU Peach on Maylay I think

It was pretty baller

Oh forgot to mention:

Battle of the Gods was horrible and anyone who is excited for a sequel shouldn't call themselves as DBZ fan.

#shots

Seriously one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Battle of the Gods was bad but also enjoyable. A lot of movies can be described that way for me.

My other main flaw is forgetting about my moves. I'll go through a match with G&W and just plain forget I have Bacon, and then I'll be like "oh hell why am I not using Bacon", and then I'll try to use it all times which is obviously dumb and then I get rekt

Replace "G&W" and "Bacon" with "Marth" and "Dancing Blade" as you wish

But eh I'm turning on PM to get some practice, I need to practice wavedashing eventually.

Was thinking TCP/IP. :p Not that it's difficult to make a new account, anyway.
Can you get diablo 2 free in this day and age?
Battle.net accounts are free?

Damn, I don't know anything about this. Last time I played Diablo 2 it was under my brother's account that he let me have a character on.

And that was YEARS AGO.

is it even a sequel?

I expierenced the story through the manga, but it basically looks like "uh oh, frieza's back!" not really a sequel to the first one.

I haven't seen the first one and only going off of properganda. >_>

Ugh.

I think my disk is out of playable condition at this point.

In fact, I wonder if it's even there.

Just checked, it isn't.

Only starcraft brood war. ;_;

So I'm trying to do that crouch-cancelled thing you guys mentioned and I dunno if I'm doing it right.

I can get it for smashes, because that's just smash6 > 2 > cstick.X (using fighting game notation because I'm used to it, except Smash makes me have to devise whole new notation, making that utterly useless...>_>). But for tilts I can't get it. Is it "Smash Forward, press down until crouching, use tilt?" Because I can do that, but it's a lot slower than I expected?

Also for some weird reason my R-trigger does not register light presses but my L-trigger does. No wonder I keep missing L-cancels and find wavedashing really hard, I do everything with the R-trigger.

Practice your spacing as well.
You can never do enough SHFFLs
Unless it's perfect, also practice your L-cancels
Foxtrotting is something worth working on as well.
Dash dancing as well, but project M AI isn't good to practice that on
Reverse aerial rush as well.

ESPECIALLY YOUR SHORT HOPS.
So I'm trying to do that crouch-cancelled thing you guys mentioned and I dunno if I'm doing it right.

Can you show me how the controller is structured?

I've never seen it so I can't visualize how you should be doing it.

Edit : Wait are you talking about that system they use in other games?

Are you using a GC controller?

This is where the distinction between run and dash is important. Someone before said they'd never seen the distinction made, but the distinction is very worthwhile, in my opinion.

The dash is the initial animation, which transitions into run. A dash can be cancelled with another dash (dashdancing), or you can pivot, etc, but you can't crouch. Once you're in a run, you can crouch to instantly halt your momentum and perform some kind of attack if you'd like. Also when you're in a run, if you try to turn around, you'll do a slow turnaround animation, and this is what leads to RAR.

So, out of dash you can pivot, do another dash, transition into a run, shield, jump, etc. Out of a run you can run turnaround, RAR, crouch, jump, etc.

You might be having that problem because you're trying to do it out of a dash instead of a full run.

I'm using a regular GC controller, I just decided to use numpad notation for some stupid reason.

I can't pivot either. I try to do it exactly like the AT guide says: dash, then hit opposite direction and input attack, but Marth just turns around. I can't even do it in slow motion. Nor can I dash dance either >_> I can get it going for a little bit but then I lose the rhythm, even in 1/2 speed >_>

The thing is, I am running...

I can do it with Smashes just fine but tilts are another story. I can do it with dtilts, but the others just make me do a smashes because I smash the control stick too hard.

At that point, it's likely just a matter of practice and control.

Pivot attacks (iirc) actually have a fairly small window depending on how you do the pivot. If you smash the control stick in one direction and then the other, there's only a frame or two where you're in standing position and can act. Try debug mode to see it for yourself in frame advance.

Dash dancing is really just smashing the control stick back and forth quickly. The real trick of it is to figure out your character's max dash range and be able to dash dance at those maximum distances. Then you can mix up your dash dance timing instead of just flailing your control stick back and forth as fast as you can. Which... I mean, you can do that, too. It's just not really as useful. Kinda fun though.

Also, in the future, try not to double post. You can edit a post you've just made if you wanna respond to something extra.

Is this a text guide or a visual guide?

This is extremely important.

Also, reset your controller (Press and hold Start + X + Y for about 5 seconds)

Uptilt would be the hardest one for that reason.
But you can probably get the same out of an l-cancelled f-air from marth.

Getting a feel of where your control stick's dead zones helps a lot. Or whatever the degrees where the game recognizes a tilt vs a smash are called.

+1 for Chitanda avatar

So anyone here good at making BRSTMs? Or know which relevant threads are actually active? I have tech questions.
I do some BRSTMs from time to time, altough I'm probably not using the same stuff to do it as everyone I guess?
