If anyone's interested, I have an idea that I posted in general discussion about starting a channel and making it something that all PM players will think of immediately when PM footage comes to mind. I feel like boosting something like that to such a level would assist in bringing PM back into a positive spotlight.

a. this is all based on heresay, see ripple's post earlier, gimr didn't have to do this
b. gimr was freed off of PM, and people subscribed to vgbc because of s@x

All I think is that we need P:M specific stuff + grassroots. And we're getting the latter atm (Shots Fired, other stuff) and weeklies still exist. If we can't turn into an eSport or whatever, who cares?

All this means is that we're free of the dirt that is associated with eSports. We be pure. It might stop rapid P:M growth compared to Melee but we'll still draw people. I doubt we're in any kind of danger though through official means, the comparison of the Samus charge shot is p. accurate.

Nintendo's characters aren't even misrepresented or anything, it is a matter of game modes and physics.

This was a completely valid endeavor for a community to undertake.

If streaming Melee is ok, PM is the same. We just need to nurture PM and work to get it into most of the nationals, on stream.

The sooner people get that, the better.

I don't really feel like anyone will care, but I think the second situation seems most likely. I don't think there's actually any evidence Nintendo has spoken against Project M. I'd like to see if I'm wrong however.

My problem with Esports is exactly "The International" or "Capcom Cup". It is self promotion for that one company.

MLG and EVO are still profit driven, but at least it is promoting Esports as a whole and not one specific company. When we let the companies control anything other than game creation, it instantly stops helping anyone but the publisher.

Don't sell out to game publishers guys, they just want their game to be the premier game, and sell you DLC and sequels.
