I still do not think coaching is even remotely an issue by itself--people on twitter keep saying "individual sports never need them", which makes me wonder how many individual sports they actually watch on an even uncommon basis--but it takes up time, and considering how getting kicked out of venues for running too late has gotten unreasonably common in the past year, time is money.

here, a single rule to solve the troubles. I'll even properly capitalize and everything, so you can copy-paste if needed:

The loser of each match in a set has 60 seconds to choose their Counterpick, and then start playing on it. If they spend far too much time beyond this, their opponent gains another point.

(this means in a 2/3 set, the opponent automatically wins, and in a 3/5 set, the opponent simply has one less game needed to win)

the issue with all smash schedules absolutely has to deal with uncertainties in time, like it is btwn matchups. give it a max time limit, problems get solved
I got coachin' opinions, y'all

Well that is more cost effective than my idea of simply having every TO use an air horn.
How is this lewd?
There was a problem fetching the tweet

What's the sauce in that first one though. It looks like a slow and dramatic yuri, which is the only acceptable kind.

I actually enjoyed Phantom Hourglass a fair deal. Nothing spectacular, but an average addition to the series.
Spirit Tracks, at least imo, was just a worse Phantom Hourglass. I still think Spirit Tracks is an average game in a vacuum, but pretty low compared to other Zelda games.
Agreeing with this, but I wanted to point out that Spirit Tracks has the best overworld music in the series.

I'm with Hylian, Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are my favorites. Though I will put my stamp on Wind Waker as my current favorite.
I think Wind Waker is the best Zelda if all values are weighed equally, but Majora's Mask is overall my favorite for it's fantastic atmosphere and its daring choices for gameplay and story elements.

There's no point in being petty about this. GimR owns VGBC and thus his decisions are his own and we have to respect them.

Just like GimR has to respect that the fact that I will un-follow his channel, unsubscribe from his youtube and never watch his weeklies/a majority of his tournaments again.

And I welcome all of you to do the same.

I can't get mad at GIMR, because streaming as a career is very, very fragile in a DMCA-happy world, and you want to try to not die doing this stuff if possible

but even with the blame away from him, it still looks bad/kind of gross. no matter how it was processed, and even if it was not the intent, you still used a community and then got away from it for greener pastures the second it starts being a problem. ain't no way for that to work out well, regardless of the scenario

It really disgusts me to see the rest of the community suddenly turning its back on PM for the extra Nintendo cash.

When's that PM-only national happening again?

People can not like it. I hate it in fact. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
But I really hope for GIMR's sake that people stay civil.
But then again, expecting the same people who sent the Apex team death threats to be civil is like asking for world peace.

EDIT:
In regards to Nintendo's sponsorship, I doubt Apex (at least the Smash 4 side of things) would have been remotely possible without Nintendo. They gave Apex all the setups which included a Wii U, Smash 4, GCC adapter, and monitor. While nobody knows the real value, it's estimated to be over twenty grand just from the Smash 4 setups. This doesn't include the other setups they provided by the way, that's just Smash 4. While the other Smash events could have been run on community setups like they have been for years, Smash 4 doesn't really have that luxury. The system is way more expensive, the TV's are way more expensive, and GCC adapters are still hard to find and the sad truth of majors is that people steal ****, plus most people aren't going to be willing to travel with such expensive equipment.

Nintendo is like that Samus player with a full charge shot. They never use it, but just the fear of it being there causes people to make poor decisions.

I've said it, and i'll say it again. Don't watch VGBC, don't subscribe, and tune into other streams who regularly stream PM such as http://www.twitch.tv/GameUnderground or http://www.twitch.tv/tourneylocator (which are both live at the time of this post) and make THEM huge like we did for VGBC.

I'm just saying, if Nintendo would have wanted to take out PM, wouldn't it have made sense last year when we were absolutely massive? We were at CEO and Apex. It seems to me like either everyone is jumping the gun, or they're trying to scare everyone into jumping the gun.

the way I see it, Nintendo saw the melee competitive community, and made brawl as a big eff you to all of us. Project M was made to make brawl into an actual smash game. Now nintendo is trying to bond with that competitive community while also ignoring why project M was made in the first place. It's so cynical of nintendo to do this and I am honestly surprised so many people are taking their side.

Who are all these people that I've never seen post here? Why did you suddenly pop up? Seriously, wtf.

I would share my sentiments regarding VGBC, but Canon already said it basically. I get that, from a business standpoint, this probably the best move to make sure it doesn't die. But it still feels like a knife being twisted into the back of pm players (who also helped VGBC grow into what it is today) and trying to understand Gimr's decision with that knowledge in mind kinda makes me nauseous.

From one ****storm into another...when's break?

I'm considerably less salty about this than most people I wager.

I guess part of the reason why I can't find myself hating GimR is that as much as I want to criticize him for selling out, I have to force myself to look at the alternative. We might still have PM on VGBC, but then we might lose VGBC in the process. What then? Find another channel and leave VGBC in the dust like VGBC is doing to us right now? I can't feasibly see a pretty situation to this either way and someone was going to fall first. The difference is that PM has the possibility of making it out alive through the outlets of other streams, while there's a likely possibility that VGBC wouldn't have. I trust GimR enough that this isn't some knee-jerk reaction to Nintendo sponsorship and he's gotten opinions and second-opinions from people who have enough experience in the legal field.

I'm probably going to get a lot of **** for this, but I didn't really feel good holding it in.
