I have 2 different builds of Dolphin, 4.0 652 for Netplay and 4.0 1353 for everything else.
I've tried deleting my "Everything else" Dolphin, and making a completely new Netplay Dolphin folder. I've also deleted the folder in my documents, and having it install a fresh one.
The error still happens, and I can't figure it out. It was working fine for 2 weeks.
Maybe I do have a save file for PM/Brawl on my Single Player version of Dolphin, and my Netplay Dolphin is trying to use it?

I'm sorry.....
When I got to the "Create save file/ continue or go back?" section, I just spammed B until it let me though...
I DID NOT REALIZE that B would take me back to the non-existent Wii menu.
Thanks, sorry for the trouble.

The builder is not finding your projectm folder. Make sure that the projectm folder from the homebrew.zip is in the builder folder as mentioned in the guide. If you're still confused post a pic of your builder folder.

If you follow the link in the path that it's specifying are the files indeed there? I think it may be your iso. It looks like you have a pal or scrubbed iso. You need an NTSC Brawl iso (7gb+) for it to work properly.

I'm had pretty poor performance. It would do well on stage select but not on anything else. I was using OpenGL with the vertex something.

This is my machine. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215662
Does anyone have advice for running the game better?
The problem with using multimedia laptops on Dolphin is that they are not designed for heavy use such as emulating or intensive games and overheat very easily. This is most likely the problem, that you are overheating and your cpu is throttling to reduce heat. Scroll up a little bit and check out the laptop performance guide on the Dolphin forums. Other than that, go in Dolphin and under graphics adapter change it to your Intel integrated graphics. Multimedia laptops usually share the cpu cooler with the gpu cooler to save space, so using the dedicated card will affect the heat of your cpu. Integrated graphics should be able to run 2-2.5x IR and should help with heat. Single threaded performance on your cpu is good enough so like I said scroll up for that guide.

Okay, I tried that and it runs great now, thanks

I don't know much about computers, but would a platform with a fan help or would it be insignificant?

I definitely notice it getting hotter when I play league

I'm not familiar with internet problems but perhaps this thread may help you out?

I tried this... I forced the ports 2626 / 50010 (attempting both) and tried to host, didn't work. I even disabled my fire wall even though dolphin is allowed in there, it still doesn't work. It doesn't make any sense to me :(

I hope someone in this thread can help (!)

It will only lower temps by a few degrees if anything cause it's all internal heat. Make sure you're on a flat surface (no blankets /laps) so your vents don't get blocked at all. I keep mine on a tray or table or desk.

Your cpu is very old and weak so there's not much you can do. Follow this guide and see if it does anything for you. If it doesn't then you're SOL.

Hi again Y-L, one of my friend has installed PM on his PC, which has FX 4300 HD7770 4Go RAM, so it works at 60fps, but it fall down to 30-40 sometimes, quite regularly. I heard that Dolphin is not really good with AMD products, if it is true, is there a way to fix that? (It does not seem to be a heat issue, considering the heat of his pc, which is normal after we played. Also, he configured dolphin to be in high performance on AMD's control center, thanks to your link, the laptop performance guide.)

The FX 4300 is a desktop cpu so the laptop performance guide doesn't really apply here. The reason why that cpu is slow for Dolphin is because AMD processors have bad IPC (instructions per core) meaning that despite having 4 cores they're very slow in single threaded tasks like Dolphin. The only way to 'fix' it per say would be to overclock. That cpu is about the same as the one I'm using and I can run pretty much full speed. What Dolphin revision are you using? Where do frames drop? Did you ensure all the settings are correct as listed in this guide? The GPU is fine for 2-3x IR but no antialiasing.

He uses 4.0-652. He has no antialiasing and is on "auto" for the IR. Frames are dropping when the characters do a lots a things (we only played in 1v1, by the way) or when they die from the bottom or the sides of the stages (with the explosion animation). Yes the settings are correct, he has checked. So he can try the overclocking, but we don't know a lot about it, can it be dangerous for the pc? How can we know if it is?

Does he experience this kind of lag offline? Overclocking is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing because essentially you are making the processor work harder than it's designed to.

I'm planning on streaming Project M netplay on my PC. Most important specs on my machine are the i5-2400 and the GTX 550 Ti. Will this be enough for 2 player to run at a smooth 60fps at any resolution?

Hey, Downloaded Dolphin 4.01569 the other day
got an American brawl ISO that is the right size of 8.9 GiB
I downloaded the Homebrew Full set and put the "projectm" folder and the Brawl ISO in the same folder as the iso builder.
I made the ISO and i noticed no errors in making the file except for that one everyone seems to get.
Check the number thing and it matches.
But when i load project M the title screen only shows the default characters "no unlocks, no roy, mewtwo"
The menus looks like project M until the character selection screen, which looks like this.
charselscren.jpg

And when You select mewtwo from there the announcer says, "Roy", i cant confirm who it is because the program crashes when a stage is selected.

An ideas?

Well it appears the PM files didn't get copied correctly and it is only showing a few brawl only characters (mewtwo is clone engined over pokemon trainer). Did you remember to replace RSBE01.gct from the homebrew codes folder?

Quick question, and I'm sure it's been asked before but that's a lot of reading/searching, if I use my custom music will it effect the connection to the other player? I'm guessing it won't, but I just want to make sure, thanks.

While I'm at it, are there any guides that tell me the correct ports to forward? I had some connecting problems that I need to solve.

Actually custom music seems to desync people for whatever reason. Check the faq for info on port forwarding.
btw you can use the search bar at the top to search a thread for key words

Yeah I did that, one error i noticed during the iso creation is that it can't find the path projectm/pf/game/*
Also it couldn't find the banner.

Oh ok thanks, at least I can use the .iso on usb loader then or burn it to a dvd. I don't really know which ports to forwards and I couldn't find it, but I did it back when Melee required port forwarding for netplay, I just need to test with someone until I do it right.

I would try redownloading homebrew.zip because the files obviously are not there or you put them in wrong. The banner error is normal.

Would the version of dolphan Im using be a problem?
I also looked into the stages and while they are edited in the select screen not all of them are unlocked.
Im going to try to delete everything and restart from scratch.

Any Dolphin version 4.0+ is recommended but it shouldn't matter. The problem most likely lies in iso creation.

I did it all over and I still get the error and the MS5 thing has the right numbers. Im really at a loss, It's like it wont apply the unlock codes but it does over everything else.

Yes, everything works normally. But again since there is not save file no characters are unlocked.

I have problems involving the creation of the projectm iso. I read up on this thread and I own a 8.1 windows computer, not a laptop. It cant seem to find the directory and ive tried to restart the process many times.

Do you know a solution? and thank you so much for dedicating your time to help us.

Try running as administrator it seems the builder doesn't have permission to create files in that directory.

that was with running as administrator, still the same result. (WITH ADMINISTRATOR)

On another note, it does load but comes up with... (WITHOUT RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)

where after loading the first process it cant load the projectm/pf files and proceeds to the second step as if the files actually did load. It says something like "the system cannot find the path specified", "0 files copied". It doesnt produce a project m iso file at the end of the process. Ive restarted the situation many times, following the steps sometimes while trying to troubleshoot the problem other times.

Strange that it doesn't find the files when running as administrator. Have you tried moving the folder with all of the process files to a different location? Like desktop?
