And they're all obviously returning, so the game is confirmed to have all items from Brawl.

Musings:

• The boomerang design is obviously based off the magical boomerang variant found in various Zelda games. Usually the magic boomerang just flies further and faster than the regular one, but in a couple games, it can also be controlled mid-flight. I wonder if there is any significance to the design chosen and if any of these additional properties will come into play.
• I love all the returning items from the 64 game that I had forgotten about.
• I assumed the crate design would vary depending on the theme of the stage, but we have a picture of Pikachu about to throw a futuristic-looking box at Samus on the Palutena's Temple stage. I wonder if you will be able to choose or specify the type in the Item Switch...
  
• The Chain Chomp is a great idea for an Assist Trophy. It just seems to fit in with the concept perfectly.
  
• The Bullet Bill is the biggest mystery for me. It is bundled in with the items, not the Assist Trophies, so I am curious as to what the specifics are. Is there going to be a stationary cannon that fires Bills out? A cannon you hold and carry around that fires Bills out? A single Bullet Bill you get to launch from your hands?

Anyone else feel like this was the picture dump that was supposed to be released after the direct instead of the actual picture dump we got after the direct? These all look far more focused on the new characters and don't reveal any new info, but that first batch of pictures just came out of left field with the new and returning items, pokemon, etc.

To be fair, the new information was revealed at the right time. The new screenshots that we got today were more extras that focused on the characters who were revealed on the Smash Bros. Direct.

I'm just gonna say the surprised Pit behind ZSS pic is my favorite. Pit's expression reminds me of one of his expressions from KI:U. For some reason I can't get enough of Pit's new expressions, but considering his lack of expressions in Brawl, how could I not get enough of how much life expressions Pit has in this game? In other words, I want to see more of that angel's expressions.
