I don't care what my character looks like. Hell, Falco is a cross-eyed parrot and Sheik a transvestite dressed as the Wolverine, and they're among the best characters in the game (Melee).

I'm maining whoever is the fastest with a decent amount of power to back that speed up.

uggh...you cant predict this at all. once you take all of what you said into account you end up back were you started. you have no clue who will use who and who is skilled and who isnt. players also will learn quikly not to go online if they want to platform, so that wont be a problem long. basically you can expect a mixture of skill, tiers wont exist for a few days so at first there will be diversity. people will also try out characters they have no Idea about at first, so there will be a large mix at first. so in the beggining you can expect TRUELY random setups, but, after a while, you can expect patterns to form.

I have a feeling that Link will be the most overused by incompetent players character just because he's so freaking cool. Which makes my stomache lurch a little considering I main Link competitively and am a MAJOR LoZ series fanatic (played OoT 18 times through so far), so naturally it annoys me a little to see that. But people will choose what they like and I won't stop them so it's all good.

I'm also expecting lots of Sonics once people get exellent control over his speed.
