So my power lines were struck by lightning and my Wii bricked. The only problem? My copy of melee is inside.

Ideas? Thoughts? Life queries? Should I take a hammer to it?

You can unbrick a wii tho. Go purchase a used melee for $15 at your gamestop which they have right now guaranteed. And then when u finally get your wii melee unstuck you shall have 2 copies which doesn't hurt.

Yup at our Gamestops in New Jersey they have Melee used for $14.95 and they have like 40 in stock at mine. Brand new in the plastic it's $30 but hardly any of the stores have them new anymore. I saw a random new one at circuit city like 5 months ago but thats about it lol.

Yup yup, I still have my gamecube. Part of me wants to destroy the Wii though. Where do I send it to get "fixed?"

Lol if you send it to Nintendo and get a Wii (a new one, not the one you had before) and no Melee inside, i wouldn't be surprised.

i just tore out the front of mine and took out my melee copy when it got ****ed. it was hacked, though, so i didnt expect them to fix or replace it. if yours isn't, you might try nintendo. at least give them a call and see what they'll do.

you'd need a tri-wing screwdriver to open it up
additionally, even if your wii's bricked, the eject button should still work.
otherwise, just send it to Nintendo and pay the $75 to fix it. if the melee disc isn't in it, complain.

Just open it up carefully, take the disc out, put it back together carefully, and send it in to get fixed.

Problem solved?
Opening it voids warranty.

Obviously not a problem if warranty has expired.

I don't think it does if the console's been fried by lightning :p
